And its okay to use loons and minions with some heals, I personally use 2 rages, 1 lightning, and 1 heal. It helps when youve already gone through the air defenses but you wanna recover the loons' health from wiz towers/air bombs/xbows :)
Yeah, I know they are. I havent tried the farming version myself, but its the best I could get the base to be. The idea behind it is that, in gold league, people normally dont have loonions or mass drags, they have farming armies. And centralised mortars are much more important than centralised ADs to combat these armies. If someone with an aerial army comp. runs into you and you have nice loot, chances are you are gonna come out with an ugly defense :/ Try distributing the air bombs and mines more evenly around the base (not biased to the TH and DE side like in the picture, as theres no TH to protect) and pointing your xbows up to try and counter air attacks better.

have used your base for 3 days (made the change for the most recent clan war). I wasn't touched in the clan war, I am happy to say, and have only been raided once in normal play over that 3 day period (archer, barb, gob attack that got 17% and a few resources for collectors). No one else has dared even give it a proper go. Thanks for a very functional, and symmetrically attractive design, sir!

Base actually looks good seems like the base sparks everyones attention. As a Barcher I might tense up and have a sense of skepticism as to attacking you. I'm not much of a hog user so I can't testify for myself that I can win against this base, otherwise I fear it!!! HEHEHE

Looks like a great base. One suggestion I have for the farming version is switching the archer tower that's outside of the walls with the spell factory. That should recreate the hog ring.

The air defense in the core makes it much stronger against air defense while the core is a little weaker against ground attacks with the 2 missing teslas.
The change in walls makes BArch armies work a little harder to get to the storages.
Heroes are lurable no matter where you put them so I always have them outside the core.
I kinda like having 2 ADs inside and 2 outside, its really easy to get 50% if not. Also, level 7 teslas are awesome against everything, so I love having all four of them in the core.
Changes in walls look good, but I LOVE funneling, and the base looks sexy as hell with those open compartments :p
My heroes are in a strict regime of non-stop upgrading, so doesnt really matter where I place them. Currently switched them from their original spots in the core with the two elixir storages next to them, as shown in the first picture in the main page :o
Made the changes after getting 2 starred by 5 ballons and 100 minions (both maxxed). Of course I had my xbows down, my fault with only 2 AD in the middle you need the xbows up, so the minions coming in from the side walked thru my defenses.
Ballons took out the wizard and archer tower and the minions gutted my storages and town hall.
I love your base! I'm moving up in trophys, lets see how far i can get.

1) Attacked from the south-east, but only used 1 rage spell. AQ moved to the core and was killed in seconds by the teslas.
2) I guess he thought my collectors were full because i had 200k gold and 350k elixer available.
3) Attacked from the North, and was aible to get 2 gold storages and 2 elixer storages.

So after using Juns pokeball-design for my th9 and getting totally wrecked in cw by hogriders, I've decided to try out an anti-hog-base. After some searching around the web I've found two top contenders: This base-design and Ringus's base-design(http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...eansing-Design).
So my question to you guys here at this thread(and to kamikaze) is: How does this base compare to Ringus's base? Which one is the best? Advantages of them both? Major differences? Your overall thoughts of the two?
Right now I'm leaning towards Ringus's base, simply because I find it to be a bit more flexible in its transformations(as seen in the thread I linked). So give me your best arguments!

I dont really want to compare both bases, as I'm obviously going to lean towards my base and not other people's bases, but I'll try to be as objective as possible.
I dont know what u mean about the ringus being more easily transformable, you actually have to move the wall structure of the base for ot to go from farming to trophy, in mine you just take out the buildings with one click with the village edit mode and place them back in another spot.
My base has an unlureable clan castle in both the trophy base and the farming base, the ringus only has it on the farming version, and it can still be lured by hogs even when the CC is in the center.
However, the double giant bombs in the ringus are much harder to test for than in my base, as they are in he corners and not in the sides.
Guess that's all, besides that the two bases are very similar to each other, they even have the same buildings in the core (besides heroes). The one aspect of my base that, in my opinion, makes it unique, is the unlureable CC feature, which is why I believe it is better than most anti-hogs out there.
i made this base from 1 post, hogs got destroyed very nice, BUT i got easy 2starred by giants + archers +3 heal spell.
After 2 mortar died he made non stop heal in the mid and arbalets lvl 3 could not kill a single archer under heal spell =(
I have a fairly underleveled version of this base, but it defended against a L101 w/29 L5 hogs today. Pretty predictable outcome. Textbook for what this base is supposed to do.
The attacker foolishly used lightning spells instead of heals, but it wouldn't have mattered. Those hogs got obliterated by the double bombs.

I just started using this base. Im not quite as upgraded as Kamikaze, but so far Im 7-0 on def with one defense being against a lvl 122. Definitely keeping this
This guy spent over a minute trying to lure out the CC (unsuccessfully). The CC wizards did end up finishing off his giants when he finally attacked.
He did grab more gold in the end than I would have liked, but that's partly due to my moving around of resources from the original design, and his goblin bombing me behind his heroes in the end.
Ohyeah, he also didn't get any stars.

Reminder too that I'm level 73 (base is underleveled), and the attacker was level 111 with mostly maxed troops.
ah i see u were clever and put long ranged defenses on outsides to prevent from attackers luring your troops and killing them 😉

One minor thing that I don't like about the baconmaker is the fact that there are no walls trapping the storages, which makes med think you could easily pick them out with 120+ goblins using giants as meatshields. I do realise that we're talking about an antihog-base, but it still bothers me a bit. Have you had any problems with those "gaps" in the corners?

Firstly, because no one uses mass goblins armies.
But even of they did, the storages are covered by 1 or 2 mortars, a wizzard tower, 2 point defenses, both xbows (if on ground, if not only one) and the teslas (2 of them or none in the trophy base, 1 in the farming base)
This base is great the only army to have gotten a star was a 2 star max gowiwi(lvl15 heros) during clan wars anything else obliterated and he had all of his troops die at 53% so close

Im gonna repeat what I said to the guy who said he got two starred by barch with my base. I dont know what people get attacked with when using my base, or how they get attacked, I cant control that. What I'm saying is that my base has a much better chance to defend succesfully against HOGS, and hogs only, because thats what I aim to defend against, than most of the other TH9 anti-hogs like ringus or vinny's where you can lure the CC.
Well said, Kamikaze; this past clan war, a modified version of this base (I neatened up the walls) held against 3 consecutive hog attacks before getting 2-starred by mass drags. Ringus is better against armies like mass drags that don't really need CC lures.
The de was so exposed on the farming verison and easy to get, so I switched it with the aq and will see how it goes :)

drop 5 hogs near WT, it'll took down WT, trigger 2 GB and lure your CC out. easy peasy. no base is unlureable if you can play it smart

They will trigger the fist Gb for sure but not the second one and won't be able to make all the cc troops out if they succede in trigging the cc
Going from the WT to the AD doesn't trigger the cc, going from the WT to the cannon doesn't trigger the cc but going from the cannon to the WT does trigger it, i've tested this base and seen hogs destroying the fourth of the outer ring before triggering the cc

First attack on my base was all dragons and gave 1 star (TH), and the other gave 2 stars, but that was a strong army with 5 maxed pekkas, maxed golem, lvl 14-15 heroes, 5 spells and stuff like that. Not much would stop that as a th9.

In the last war, I was attacked.
A TH8 with level 5 troops had a ton of giants and a ton of archers and wllbreakers and got my townhall from one side and 39 %.
That kinda sucked, but I will keep using this base. Haven't been attacked by a hogger yet, though.
Hey, looks really amazing but actually I'm farming to upgrade my new TH9, so are the storages really protected ?
Against a 50 barbs / 70 archs / 60 gobs for example ? Or full gobs to be crazy.
Because I always put (except during CW) my TH outside and I'm really looking for ressources, however even in this way I'm still thinking this base could make the job done, I just want to ask before changing my actual base for yours one.

This is a great base. I tested however I found myself getting 2 started by giant/ arch wiz combo so I switched the bottom xbow next to the De storage and the exlir storage( hero ) with mortars filled in mortar spots with barracks from 2nd core and filled in barracks spots with hero's. Now the mortars can kill the archers barbs wiz etc. Now they can't take out the mortars right away and I won't be left without splash damage(besides wiz) .
Looks like a really nice base for gold league... But if a hogger runs into you and you have a nice available loot you'll be mad. And about your previous question, no, mass gobs wont take your storages, they have a wizzy tower covering them to prevent this, and they all have 1 or 2 mortars on range too.
Thanks, I exactly go to Gold2/3 to try to get more ressources, and I only took one attack with hogs until now, so a Anti-Hogs isn't absolutly necessary, but your base really looks awesome so I'll may be try your base, if I will, I'll tell here how does it work.

I was hogged in our current war.
28 level 5 hogs.
attacker could not lure the cc, unfortunately the dragon inside went after some archers and the heroes instead of the hogs.
Nevertheless, attacker only got 52 % before his hogs died and the rest of his troops, that was an ok result :)
Used this base for a week or so now, base is all max town hall 8 level defenses with L2 bows, one upgraded mortar and wiz tower.
Clan Wars: A hogging clan sent mass L4 Dragons, 4 rage, 1 heal at me and managed 49% zero stars
Defended several hog attacks in crystal 1 and master 3, one player managed to wipeout the defenses, but spent so long horsing around in order to get his hogs into the middle that he ran out of time before getting much of any loot.
I also experienced that it is somewhat susceptible to giant/healer/barch armies. They seem to manage 65% and at least half the resources along with the DE a good amount of the time.

TheOneKamikaze sure likes to bump this thread...and when the original poster of the base has to bump it to keep it from fading into oblivion instead of the actual users of the base, it tells you all you need to know.
Look for the TH9 base threads on the front page where the original creator of the base is barely active...that shows that actual users are talking about it, enjoying it, and benefiting from the design so much that they alone can sustain it.
When you see a designer posting 20, 30, even 50 times a day, answering questions in separate posts instead of within one quoted thread, it tells you that he's desperate to keep the thread alive...because no one is using the base anymore and has moved on.
Food for thought.
I'll bump it for him by saying that the base has been giving me really good results. Sure, a maxed out GoWiWi gives me trouble, but that gives maxed TH10s trouble too so i think its a fair exchange.

Personally im happy he doesnt use multi-quotes in his post because it can be a daunting task fishing through a post full of quotes to see if he's said something worth reading.
None the less, even if he was bumping his own thread intentionally, he created a base design that he's proud of that has been getting positive feedback, why hate on that? Let him enjoy the fruit of his labor and when the thread/base has ran its course, then it'll be a non-issue.
I have no idea why you come into OP's thread and bash on him like that.
His base design has been serving me and MANY of my clannies very well.
We are on our trophy pushing season and most th9 has used and liked the Baconmaker.
I'm very grateful that OP took the time and dedication to make this thread and answer a lot of our questions.
Instead of "assuming" things, why not give the man credit for his work?
I prefer this base over the other anti-hog bases out there for many reasons:
1) no blind "safe" spots to kill heroes
2) innovative design, not many counters to this base yet
3) staggering hogs to counter anti-hog bases cant be safely used because the CC is unlurable.
4) CC IS UNLURABLE.
