Whoops, didnt notice I was on my old account. Well, what he said :)

I actually tried this base last night and have to say that I'm not really a fan. Had someone zap a single mortar then push through the core with just a barch raid from the bottom right side.
I've since reverted to my previous anti-hog layout. Made it a couple of weeks ago and it's served me quite well. You can find it in my sig.
I still have the replay and could probably record if if someone really wanted to see it.
Awesome awesome base!!! really good! Doing fine 3 attcks 2 def wins (i loose one -one star- because the First raider lose after killing heroes, cc and triger some traps without giving a shield T.T) all were hog attacks btw
I have seen this base before.. Did you modify an existing design or is this claimed to be brand new?
What are thoughts on this base?
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-Hog-variation
I've been using it for about a month and went from 1700ish trophies to about 2600ish... maintaining 2500-2599 trophies usually.
I've found great success in this base in that I typically will only get 1 stared by a HR attack and they rarely get much DE/gold. I will occasionally get 2 starred and 3 starred if the attacker is smart and allows some HR to get in the core but for the most part... only a few leak through into the core.
It works well against all other attacks as well. Most of my attackers are TH10 guys.
I'm curious what TH9 has infernos. Last I checked this is supposed to be a TH9 anti-hog layout.
Anyways, here's the video.

The 2 circled funnels have low hp buildings for the most part and without obstruction a single hero would wipe each, the individually circled buildings are those that offer the potential for clutch lightning as they are semi protected from initial deployment.
Anyways, this is why I don't like funnels on anti-hog bases; it does not hold up the cleanup crew at all. I think you would be better off closing those up. You have badass walls, so let them work for you :) don't make it easier for hoggers to acquire the last 2 stars
Lol ♥♥♥ I meant xbows, not infernos lol.
And about the replay... Im speechless. Ofc it wouldnt have happened if mortars were in the middle, thats the point of the farming version, but this means that I could get 2 stared by barch here in upper crystal :/ Really skilled attacker tho, dont think anyone will have to go through this with the base.
Anyways it will be fun to try this base next war. As it is atm wars are all about hogs vs antihogs, at least up to th9.
2 of the outer ad's are placed badly imo. Everything else looks good.
Opinions on how this base (overall) compares vs. Ringus formation (seeing as both are strong anti-hog, and similar inner AD placement/xbow placement)? Discuss.
I like this base a lot and may try it when we get saved layouts. Looks like you need to switch a lot to transform it which I dont like. Other than that sweet base and nice job
You only need to switch the ADs to the outside, the ATs to where the mortars were, the TH to the outside, the mortars to the core, rearrange the core, move the spell factory to the mortar's place, and then save the base...
Lol just kidding. Sounds pretty complicated if I write it step by step, but it took me like 2 or 3 minutes to rearrange it to take the screenshot
There were no heroes in that vid and it would be totally different if the cc was wizards instead if a strange combo of archers and minions.
Still, just solely about base building, this what I meant by extreme end of antihog. Imagine the ultimate extreme situation where the hog ring is as big as the whole map. Yep hogs will run and run and run and the CC, it's surely too, impossible to lure. But what really happening there is, each defense is so far away from one another that they don't protect each other at all. This base is a miniature problem of that ultimate situation.
From that vid though, I think you can try setting xbows to ground. Since you already have air defenses and teslas in the core, setting xbows to ground solves the coverage problem to such a large TH9 base, you see for the whole duration of his king and troops vs your cc troops, there's only one xbow solo actively shooting at things, that really need to be solved.
IMO, the magic distance between defense layer and buffer layer should just be a little bit more than the defense-defense distance. You need your defenses close enough to help each other and close enough to the core so they actually help when the enemy is in the core not after they breach the core. When playing with such dangerous distances though, fine tuning is needed. Low health defenses needs to be placed one more square away from the magic distance because it will be destroyed by the first few approaching hogs and the hogs that didnt reach that defense before it was destroyed will find another target halfway, which is the core. Higher health defenses can be placed right on the magic distance because they can sustain long enough to make sure all hogs are gathered.
In fact the highest health outer ring defense, which is the air defense, should be the one next to a double giant bomb so that all hogs are gathered together, which I see you have done in your base, which is sexy. :)
I just saw your base almost completely destroyed...
great base testing it atm... all bases are bad against gowipe and gowiwi especially anti hog you know how to counter that? if so it would be the perfect base :D
what do you use to farm with as well having trouble finding loot lol
death
Switched xbows to ground only, I have the strange feeling that I'm going to get wrecked by Balloonions soon tho :(
About the "magic distance", i didnt understand much to be honest, but i did understand that ADs are placed correctly, so cheers to me. As a matter of fact, in the CW i'm in atm ive been attack twice by hogs, both wins, and both exactly the same: all hogs deployed at the bottom AD, setting off the first bomb, and then moving to the wiz tower, setting off the second one. One would say people learn from mistakes... Clans don't :P
Shh, don't let people know
No kidding tho, it was a one of a kind attack, I can guarantee that wont happen anytime soon to anyone using this base. Especially if they use the farming version when on gold... The idea is for mortars to be in the center to prevent defenses like that one.
I like your base.... good job
But No CC is Unlureable.... its just making it hard.... Your CC can be lure with a group of giants and wbs ...
If a giant, hog, golem, or balloon is able to reach and start attacking a defensive building when dropped at any point 360 degrees around the map, and the CC has not been triggered, then this is OFFICIALLY an "unlurable" clan castle.
This base has an unlurable clan castle.
assume luring is done from south.
1. drop two giants let those go where-ever ... those are for distraction
2. drop wbs to break wall between WT and AD
3. send in 2 giants those would enter the camber.. this may partially lure if u have all archers or smaller troops.
4. in this case just as your double bomb goes... immediately break the 2nd wall (drag barrack + gold storage chamber) with the wbs to make sure nothing else is in the cc.
4 giants + 4 wbs = 28 space.
lol, you should probably stop speaking, I think you are making yourself begin to look a bit silly my friend.
like mentioned above, the wbs would not reach the outer wall, their xbows are facing ground only, and will destroy the wbs before they can blow up. You wouldn't have experience with this being a th8.
and the reason they said hogs can't lure is because whatever DLT you drop, a hog, balloon, giant, or golem, even if they manage to break through the first wall, they will only reach the edge of the closest defense. In order to trigger the release of any CC troops, you need to get your DLTs half way past the outermost defense, meaning you need to destroy that defense before even having a CHANCE to lure out some CC troops.
Trust us, it's unlurable.
and stop doing fake attacks, it's not classy.
that's discussion.
Before I stared I said "I like your base" ... let me add to it "very few bases would be that had to lure"... once th9 I am seriously thinking to use this base.
if I am missing something correct me... would not your xbow be distracted by giants??
Has your cc never been lured? just be honest.
Read what me and the other guy posted, and please dont insist on something if youre not sure about it, you might end up looking like a fool  And yeah, of course it gets TRIGGERED in attacks, but when the troops are already deep in the base, it cant just be triggered at the beginning of the attack and lured to be killed, thats what people call an unlureable CC.
Thanks a lot for the oxford definition.
Now, how would that apply at all to clash? Do you tempt troops in the CC with an offer? Uhmm, yea, no.
In clash, luring the CC and heroes means exactly what we stated above.
Now please, can you stop trying to make a point that cannot be made?
this is correct, nothing will be lured in your step 3. Look at the photo below:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...22/29fb9jq.png
look at the bottom right section. If you are able to break that wall and enter that chamber, your giants/hogs/balloons/golems will only reach the red line. In order for any clan castle troops to be lured, you need to reach the yellow line.
You can't reach the yellowline until the wizard tower and the air defense get destroyed. By the time you destroy those two defenses, you will have to have used so many troops, you are no longer luring, you are attacking their base.
Thanx so much, taking so much of your time to answer my question. Truly appreciate it.
I can see what u are saying... So would a very expensive affair to draw that cc out (not using the word lure anymore)
So my step 4 would ... just partially draw the CC... until u have a drag or a pekka.

Check this defense solid base this is !!!!!!!!!
First night with this base went well, they couldn't lure my CC with giants or archers, and when they attacked the giants went like drunken in the outer circle. I haven't had a hog attack yet though, but we have war tomorrow so it will come. So far I like it a lot!
Im currently in master 1 as a th9 and will try this base out. My base so far has not been 3 starred and i won a defence even! but the cc placement really had caught my attention. I will let you know how it does in master 1 with maxed th9 buildings.

Another solid defense win !!!
Thanks to everyone for the comments, really wasnt expecting this kind of feedback when I posted the base in the forum :o And glad I helped you out too.
I dont know if it will do much in masters one... Hoggers normally dont reach so high as its disco land (I did, but I used to spend 500k searching everytime for a base I could 2 star), lots of gowipes and gowiwis, and CC isnt as important against those strats :( But good luck, TH9 champs is something to be proud of, so go get it!
i was wondering if there is a good th 7 base that will get me to at least gold 1
This base is sweet. Totally using this when I hit TH9
I really enjoyed these bases and your tips! Thank you so much!:)
I have absolutely no experience at pushing in TH8 or below :( Sorry
There are some general rules tho, that apply to everyone. And the first one and most important one is that you cant rely on defense to get trophies, you have to get them yourself. And as a TH7, I recommend you just TH snipe to gold 1, shouldnt be a problem as most people in gold are farmers :)
I am currently trying out your base but with some bad results. 1 attack was great, roasted 25 hogs, but however, the last two defense were 3 stars and 2 stars. I can understand about the 3 star because all my traps were down and he had 40 level 4 hogs. However, with the second one, he managed to get 3 gold storages and get in the core. With 1 healer, 15 giants, and rest was barbs and archers. His troops were level 6. Am I doing something wrong? I have 1 telsa and 1 xbow upgrading atm.
I am currently at 1700 trophies, using the original version. My defenses are basically a level 2 xbow, half skull walls, rest purple, and maxed out th 8 defenses with 2 th 9 motars
Your walls arent as good as they should be, and defenses are underlevel for TH9 too. But besides that, I already told this to the guy who bugged me about getting 2 starred by barch... If you're in gold league, use the farming version! It is much better against farming armies like the giant healer that wrecked you. Also I'd tell you to distribute air bombs/mines more evenly around the base and not biased to 2 of the sides for better protection of your loot
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I appreciate it :) I will check out your farming version but without ad in the core, I am paranoid about miniball or mass drags. And I am barely able to keep up with my 5 builders, how am I even supposed to upgrade walls? Lol.
I'm guessing miniballs is balmin/balloonions... Yeah, if someone comes across you with loonions and you have nice loot, you'll be in trouble. Point xbows up to counter this, you have all mortars in the center so no need for ground-only xbows as well. And mass drags... Well, if you get attacked by mass drags in gold 2, you are definitely the unluckiest guy on earth
You have any video of defence to i see? pls? =x
Very nice base layout. One of my clan mates is very mature TH9 and has been very pleased with this base design. The defenses i have seen are impressive. 7 L6 wizards in the cc don't hurt either.
I have been attacked 8 times up in master ll and l and 7/8 have been hog attacks. So there are still hoggers up here. They use rage and freeze and there rest heal spells so they can take on multi IT. First defence with this base was against 6 max pekka, 19 max wiz and lv 30 heroes. He only got the two star which I am happy with.
Looks like a tricky base to attack. I used Medak´s base during my push to champ but up there the layout doesn't matter at TH 9…. Unfortunately
I really like med's base, but its too mainstream IMO. People know where traps and teslas are, as well as where the CC can be lured from. As you said, defense doesnt matter in champs for a TH9, all you can aim for is not to get 3 stared every time, but I think my base is great for crystal 2 to masters 2 or so, a.k.a the hog zone :p
Btw, congrats on champs and on your base/walls/heroes, looking good
No good for me in G1/C3/C2. Gave it a well-rounded test to see if it could dethrone peabak's Ringus base which has done well for me in those range and it couldn't (see logs pic).
Going back to Ringus, good try though OP, new bases are always fun to test:
