Out of my 225 walls, 47 are Lv8 while the rest are Lv7. Every defense is maxed (including teslas) and so if every offense (both troops + spells). Should I continue farming skull walls or is it safe to upgrade to TH9?

Upgrade to TH9. The walls will still be there at TH9.

Go ahead and go to TH9. Gold farming is easy. Just make sure you max almost everything before TH10. That's when farming gets horrific.Quote:

I disagree with everyone. If you are planning to max your base, which you should, max EVERYTHING at TH8. This is because at TH 8 you can easily get amazing raids and farm 1.5m+ an hour with BAM consistently. However, when you hit TH9 loot will be scarce and hard to get even 1m an hour until you max your barracks and troops. I maxed everything at TH8 and don't regret it at all. Stay there. My clan even gets on me for staying at TH9 trying to focus on walls and heroes when everything else is maxed, but I will tell you the same thing I tell them. In the long run, it's worth it.

Exactly. Plus It would be a lot more fun to start legos right when you get there. Not sure about the first few days of TH9, but assuming you have 5 builders I'd have 3 on defenses, one on heroes, and one for walls.Quote:

If you wanna get lvl 9-11 walls you should stay and do walls. Lvl 10 BK is good to have for the start of th9 too
You realize that with barch or bam you can get plenty of loot at th 9. Plus with xbows it will provide better defense. Maxing isn't always the choice.Quote:

I had become bored with farming for those skull walls, it was just the same over and over again. Maybe if I'd trophy pushed for my fifth builder I wouldn't have....just my fault for leaving the walls until last (not going to happen again).
In any case it was a lot easier to get loot at full strength TH8 than it was with a fresh TH9.
My advice:
Try to stay at TH8 as long as you feel good about it, the option to go to TH9 will still be open to you in two weeks time, on the other hand, once you're TH9, there's no turning back. Enjoy the game. TH9 will be a new challenge. You're certainly well developed enough to make the move now, but you can also still find things to do at TH8.

Keep farming DE for your king and lab upgrades, and slowly upgrade walls as you go. My thought process is that once you're maxed for two resources you should upgrade unless you can finish the third within 2 weeks. I was maxed for gold and elixir as TH7, but my king was still lvl2, but I still went to TH8. Right now, I've nearing maxed my defenses at TH8, with only my arch towers to get to lvl10 and my teslas to get up to lvl6(arch towers are lvl9 right now and teslas are still lvl3, so that's a grand total of 35 mill more gold, jeez that's actually a lot more than I thought). I'm also fairly close to finishing my elixir lab upgrades, with only 12 million more elixir left for my lab(drags to lvl3 for 3mill, pekkas to lvl2 for 3 mill, and pekkas to lvl3 for 6 mill) and 6.25mill for barracks upgrades(4 mill for two reg barracks to get to lvl10 then 2.25mill for one dark barracks to get to lvl4) for a grand total of 18.25 mill more elixir. After that, I have 102 mill gold for 204 skull walls, and 340k DE for my king and DE lab upgrades - I'm focusing on DE right now, and I'm casually farming about 5k DE a day on school days and 10k on weekends(I don't play in sessions, and it's not the main game that I play, so I only attack like once an hour or hour and a half), and along with that I'm farming about 800k a day on school days and 1.5mill on weekends(this is alongside DE farming, I'm not focusing on gold mind you). At that rate I'm going to be DE farming for about another two and a half months until I max my DE for TH8, and I'll be about half done skull walls at that point, so I'll make the decision then whether I want to upgrade or not.
You will be safe either way. You will probably have tons of elixer because you will have nothing to spend it on until you upgrade your walls. If you upgrade it, you will look and be good either way. There is just a penalty of loot in TH 9. Upgrade your walls first. That is my opinion.
