Gold grab= skills?

I've noticed a lot of people on forums tend to use the GG (gold grab)and trophy achievement as the only indicators in ones attacking abilities o.O
Not dissing or disrespecting anyone but isn't it basically who ever plays the most is bound to have the biggest gold grab? And If you're playing 10 hours a day and I'm playing 2 hours a day you're most likely going to have more trophies won then me right?(unless you are just horrible at attacking) So why do the majority of you peeps base everything around the stats ? I personally Think clan wars are a better indicator of skills I have noticed a lot of my hardcore farmer clannies are TERRIBLE at attacking and even some people who hang at high trophies are bad at 2-3 starring bases since in clan wars 1 star wins isn't going to do much like in trophy pushes.
What are your thoughts? Sorry if I made no sense (x

I think people tend to use whatever makes them look best. If they have a great GG, then it probably really is the best indicator... for them. Likewise, if a good player has a bad GG, it's not.

And this is why I think we should be judged on our cup records. :rolleyes::cool:

agreed stats are mumbo jumboed depends who plays the most dosen't necessarliy mean that player is better at attacking
but how do we base off cwar to look at attacking skill? lol looking through profiles don't work
because the stat themselves depend on how many cwars u've been in and how many time u've attacked

Gg is a indicator of dedication, cups is dedication and skill, Barching to champs takes skill, looning to champs take skill, same with gowiwi and all that. You cant be clueless and win. Clan wars, thats more on who you attack, and your troop lvl. If you have high troops and 3 star a th9, and you leave the poor th9 to attack the th10s, you can guess what will happen.

There's no stat on profiles that can tell you if someone is skilled.

A gauge of dedication more than anything.

Some clans use a certain level as a pre requisite to join as it shows who the active; dedicated farmers are.

It's a really good way to see the difference between a paid player of a hard working farmer also.

Not necessarily skilled though, as many billionaires have spent far too much time around 1,400 cups smashing noobs.

Also, why wouldn't it ordinarily be the case that the people who spend the most time in any game would also be the most learned/experienced?

Gold Grab is not a good attack skill indicator. I usually only attack for trophies, not gold or elixir. Trophy count is a better attack skill indicator.

I don't consider someone good because of a high GG. I consider them a dedicated player, but I do think someone is good at attacking based on trophy achievement.

Wouldn't everyone need to be maxed th10 before relative trophy count could be meaningful, since everyone would need to be similarly (or equally) situated?

So this trophy count idea as a measure of anything (unless maxed) is dumb?

I would rather invite a max defense th8 than crystal player league th10 with pink walls.

Someone with high goldgrab may be a skilled player. And an extreme goldgrab hints at the player knows how to attack efficiently. But it usually just indicates that the player dedicated more time than it shows skill.

High trophy count doesn't necessarily means skills either. A th5 reaching champ might sound very skilled. But the guy explained his method and it's basically an extreme dedication of free time.

So reaching champ doesn't mean you're skilled. The real indicator of skills imo is the trophy count of the higher champs. Above a certain amount of cups, you'll only find extreme bases. And you won't have the liberty to pick your base to attack. The only bases that give more than 1 cup are the maxed ones with crazy walls and maxed heroes. Yes, reaching this stage needs a lot of time. But more than that, you need skills. Someone with everything maxed and a sea of time will definitely not reach higher champ if he/she doesn't posseses attacking skills.

You can't deny it shows skills to some extent.

my stats i mentioned in signature are all good for bragging rights.
Everyone loves to brag online or in real life.
bragging = happiness and happiness is what we seek ;)

gold grab just tells you how good of a farmer he is. and how dedicated he is to the game.
but skills wise, i dont think so...
trophy is a better indication of that.

why yall try to to make skills a word describe wrecking bases !!
why not describing getting the loot in easy way or hard way thats what the farmer facing in his clash life.
good farmers in my opinion are good trophy pusher and vice versa

when your troop not good for attacking all bases and you find a good base alot of loot
need good tactic to get it all and start to plan in the 30 s and guess what you took all that money
then you are skilled what ever they said/say about you

I think it comes down to highest amount of trophies earnt. There is also no where to hide when doing CWs as everybody can see your attacks.

I agree with Daz when it comes to GG. That particular stat can portray your activity, not your skill.

I agree gold grab is a way to determine skill because the higher the gg the more likely the player understands how to attack efficiently and do maximum damage to retrieve the loot.

Also so you can buy your way up the cup chase so that is a waste of a indication. Then again I'm lazy and have a low compared to hardcore gold grab of only 215mil yet I can take on most th10's.

Honestly there is is no real method of showing skills but maybe gg plus the xbow inferno tower achievements would be a good indicator.

Even trophy count doesn't indicate skill. You can gem a maxed base and let defense take you to 3200-3500. Then you gem maxed gowiwi and spells(heroes maxed with base). Then learn the fundementals of gowiwi/gowipe and 2 star people to 3700-4000. This would only be dedication and a little bit of skill/understanding with a cookiecutter army.

The only thing that requires skill in this game is Rage control when your BK and AQ go full ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Cmon people....if you have played this game for at least 6 months...where is the skill? You've probably learned to lure, you've probably learned which attack works best for you and spells(probably many different combos).

Lets face it....we have a limited number of good combos to use for what ur doing...farming or hunting. Doesnt take anyone very long to figure this out. I guess you can label it "skill"....once you learned the basics....guess i find it hard to label someone "skilled " in a video game. But hey....if it floats your boat to be "skilled" in a video game...more power to ya!!

If that is your mindset, what on earth are you doing here? Go do what other cool kids are doing like watch Jersey Shore or something like that and let us do what we enjoy. It takes a certain skill to use the army combo regardless so a no skilled person would take much longer then a person of similar level but higher skill. Can only do so much with what you are given beyond the basics.

Some of the stats in the profile page can distinguish a player from a casual player. E.g. someone with 1 billion GG most likely knows the basis of the game very well and should be more skilled than someone with 50 million GG in most cases.
It shows your skill is above average, but it doesn't mean you are a good player.

Gg needs time and little skill

it needs more skill the higher you go in trophys

Agreed im a decent farmer with near 350m gg, and i struggle to 3 star and even 2 star some bases in cw that's why I've started upgrading my hogs to level 4

For clan wars I was saying they're a good indicator because you right away can see people's attacks against a base similar to their own level where theirs no way of hitting "next" 102910 times to find that perfect base or town hall to snipe like in trophy hunting. Come on we have ALLL seen those th 5-8s in masters 3 2 1 and sometimes even champs.
In CW I label those who CONSISTENTLY get 4 or more stars in their 2 attacks as "skilled" :p

Totally agree. Gold grab and an epic trophy hauls do require skill but a bigger factor in having epic hauls and a big gold grab effectively goes down to having large amounts of spare time. Lots of middle of the road players out who are pretty skilful and I agree clan wars is a good indicator of skill as opposed to gg or hauls.

Skill is determined by a lot of things.

GG is the best and easiest way to have a general idea of one's skill: if a man has lots of GG, it means he spends lot of time playing the game, thus there is a higher chance for him to be skilled as this is how human brain works: the more you practice something, the more you understand how it works, the more you play, the more you experienced failures, the more failure you experienced, the more experienced you are, thus the more skilled you are.


In my opinion, you can't say someone is skilled if he has terrible GG: it means he hasn't experienced enough the attacking of the game.
On the other hand, someone with great GG can still be terrible at attacking with real armies, for trophy, if he never tried actually pushing.

So of course, if you wanna have a more accurate vision of the skill of a player, GG is not enough: you need to look at maximum trophy too.

And to me, to have the most accurate estimation of the skill of a player, you need to look: GG, trophy count, but most importantly: total multiplayer win, crossbow and inf kills.

That's why I'm totally amazed by the actual TOP1 player: his stats in Xbow and inf tower kills are just ... amazing. To me, this man is the most skilled player there is, probably. He destroyed so many high-end bases, that he must know about every failure possible while attacking, making him the best attacker of all time, and also the best able to know what he's doing when making a village :-)
