GTFO! A TH8 Farming Layout
TESTING

This base needs other clashers to assist in testing its effectiveness. If you have used this base and can share results it's greatly appreciated!

COMPARISON

I've seen The Tempest, Shuriken and Nexus Core and others but didn't feel they were a good fit for a farmer, because they have too many of your storages accessible from the outer walls. ♥♥♥♥! ensures your attackers have to push through defenses and walls to reach any storages.

In addition, some of them have the spring traps at the first entrance to your outside defenses, allowing them to get set off by a single giant or barbarian, essentially wasting your trap rather than maximizing it. ♥♥♥♥ utilizes spring traps on the interior of the outer walls. This means enemies that have just hit your initial open defensive building will be all bunched up when they press forward to attack your next open defense, but SURPRISE! that's when they'll hit the spring trap, ensuring it provides maximum results which can turn the tide of battle.

Interesting base, it might work well but I would never use it because I imagine that it would look rather ugly :cool:

Looks solid to me, been looking for a th8 base aside from transformer for when I upgrade to th8, I will probably try this out :)

Awesome, I'm actually 3-4 days out from my TH8 being complete and then I'm going to implement this baby and get some results in this thread when I'm attacked.

Sorry, just that I'm a big fan of Orz lol, but anyways the bases are all designed for trophy hunting then some changes were made to make it a farming base, so that's the reason why they don't make great farming bases (well, Shuriken is a pretty decent farming base IMO). Now enough with that rant, just wondering, could you please make the base in actual COC? Some people (like me :p) have a hard time visualizing the effectiveness of base without actually seeing the base for real in the game. Looks pretty good though(at least from what I can tell), nice job!

Thank you. I will make this base, the problem is that I'm actually TH7 upgrading to TH8 (3-4 more days) and I've been playing around with various concepts to be prepared for when I get there.

So when I do get a pic of it from the game, obviously not everything will be maxed.

I don't like clash of clans builder because it's hard to actually see where things are/go XD

Fair enough, while a picture from CoC in-game looks cooler, I actually find the builder pictures to be easier to read the layout without having a trap, for instance, hidden behind something from a screenshot.

dont try this base out until are you're new defs are at least TH7 lvl or close (lvl 8 archer towers, lvl 6 or 7 walls, lvl 4 or 5 AD, lvl 4 wiz tower). changing ur base as soon as you get a new TH is extremely stupid IMO cuz ur relying on lvl 4 archer towers as much as ur relying on lvl 8 archer towers, and there is a difference. it also may give u a feeling that it is a bad base, when it really could be good, just ur relying on lvl 4 archer towers instead of lvl 8 (other defs play a part, just an example)

as for the actual base, I don't think its too good. giant bombs and seeking air mines aren't exactly the best thing for a new TH8 to use when trying to save up for gold. 8 wall breakers, few giants and gobs and ur gold and DE is gone

I like this base. Karn, when you reach TH8 and build this base, hope to see some defense logs, or maybe post some defense replays to see it's effectiveness. Not too bad, has all the things I like about a base - air defenses and mortars in the middle, centralized clan castle, good funneling etc.

Can't wait to see it being put into action!

Built it in VEM, but not saved because of my win streak with tesseract :) I'll give the base a C due to the multiple X-junctions, sort of exposed DE, it's not symmetric, and the air trap placements. Also i'm missing a wall somehow......:confused:

Those air traps are really bad... maybe put them in the entrances of the cannons/archer towers, so it still has the same function, and it is spread out?

Also, the bottom side of the base is not protected where the DE is is not protected at all. Some wall breakers and goblins will get all the DE you have - only thing partially protecting it is the mortars.

Besides that hiccup, it looks ok. Nothing outstanding, but I like the idea of the traps and whatnot.

Lol wat? The cost of giant bombs and seeking air mines (placing them and re-arming them) is minimal. If you're concerned about that gold cost you aren't playing correctly.

not everybody can get on an play for 2+ hours a day. a lot of people corner their giant bombs or don't rearm them cuz of the cost even though theyre pretty active. and that's just a minor thing ur base really doesn't look too good

Thos traps at the bottom all dissappear with2 giants, nothing will go over the top giant bomb, wbs mess this base up, not great

Where would you put the giant bombs?

What would you do to counter what you perceive to be a weakness to wallbreakers?

Make abit bigger compartments, use funneling more inside the base, put 2 giants bombs next to eachoher to be able to get rod of hogs too soemtimes

I don't understand how I can use funneling "more" when I have funnels in every single side of the base?

Would two giant bombs next to one another be wasteful or is that a common use of them? :confused:

I mean, more inside of the base, outside they are eaisly set off, inside, it is big armies running into them.

2 giant bombs next to eachother is common if you want to get rid of hogs too, place it where hogs come and the group dies instantly

That's why I put the spring traps not at the first opening to where a defensive battery is, but at the 2nd opening, to ensure that troops would be bunched up when they hit it.

My belief is that this design will funnel enemy giants, regardless of what side they attack from, into those traps.

I don't have much experience with hogs attacking me yet, but I'm still TH7 upgrading to TH8 (one day to go!) But I'll mess around with the base a bit more and see what I can pull off :D

I can't seem to see why your base would have better protection for storages.

On the other hand, not bad, might try it out. The look of it though is killing me
Concerned about the wallbreaker pathing, since you don't have many non-T or non-X junctions.

Because those other designs have a larger concentration of storages accessible from the first wall, thus archers can just snipe your storages without having to breach the walls.
