I'd like to know why some items are almost impossible to get and others are overflowing? I have managed to get 5 marker stakes to extend one tiny bit of land, but now am getting no more. I get dozens if nails, screws, planks and duct tape that I have to keep selling to stop my barn overflowing but marker stakes and bolts are as rare as hen's teeth? Also, I never get any orange tokens? What's that all about?

It is different for everyone. One person may be struggling in planks while someone else has way too many but is in need of bolts. That's why the trading thread is so useful to forum players.
The game itself is set up this way, there seems to always be an item that is in short supply-whether it be deeds or mallets or stakes, or duct tape or planks or bolts, same with the silo expansion pieces. These items rotate as to what is the hard to find item at any given time-right now it appears that bolts and deeds are hard to find for some people. Watch the trading threads and you will see this to be true. Also-different game servers have different items as the hard to find item, I might not be able to find bolts-while at the same time another farmer can't find planks.
I also used to think it might be because people with huge barns are hoarding them, but it's not always the case, yes you could say if more people sold these items-there would be more available, but the number of people that hoard/inside trade are really very small to the number of players.
The game is set this way for one of two reasons-IMHO-either so farmers will use diamonds to purchase the things they need to expand-or so there's something to continue to do. For some farmers it becomes a quest to find that last bolt or plank. If all items were available all the time-let's face it-that might become boring rather quickly.
I for one tend to like the way the game seems to be set up, others have different opinions, which shows another way this game is so neat-we have choices on how we play. I do some small trading-but have never traded so I receive any barn expansion items-I almost have my barn at 1000 (just a few bolts to go) and have done it all with pieces my farm dropped, or I bought from the DD or neighbors stalls. This doesn't make me better then someone who trades more often, they probably think I'm nuts (for this and other reasons, lol) to wait a month for a bolt. On the other hand-I get nervous when I'm almost out of axes, and will trade for those at the drop of a hat.

Gina....add me on GC charliesugar101 level 64 (soon to be 65) and I will happily trade expansion items for your nails,screws planks and tapes.
I have some marker stakes and Deeds right now in fact.....;)

Before the last update, my farm was like all about planks, for whatever I harvested. After update, zero planks, overflowing panels. =_=^

I got my barn to 1000 finally without trading for barn expansion pieces. And as you know the number of pieces needed to further expand is huge! I'm not sure if I'm going further, but I will probably change my mind later today. 😉
I do have to add this though, there has been a lot of debate lately in the trading thread about posters trade offers. It all got deleted (as it probably should have been) but I still think one thing I posted about.
If someone needs an item-and they are willing to pay someone else's terms-that trade is no-ones business but the 2 traders.
Please-please do not think I disagree with your post-I like how you put it-you choose not to trade with the traders that do offer "unique" trading terms. But if I need something quickly-(not barn items) I might pay with another piece I don't need.
Of course there are new traders that don't know any better, and get ripped off. But I am really still a new trader, but before I dipped my toes into it, I lurked in the trading thread for days watching ratios-until I found a "base-line". Perhaps that info should be added to the first post in the trading thread that explains how to trade-if it isn't already there.
And I admit, I've been very lucky with forum friends trading with me-I'm an axe junky-and everyone knows it, that's basically all I trade for-saws also.

it really just depends on the demand of the market...last month you couldn't get 1 bolt for another's 1 plank...but this month someone would trade 2 planks for another's 1 bolt...
P.S. speaking of barn materials...i'm missing bolts too but have extra tapes, but i rarely trade barn materials because i'll need it for next upgrade :P

Ive notivced in the trading thread (high value items) that on a daily basis,
*EVERYONE* is trading barn-items for land items - & a few days later *EVERYONE* is trading / getting rid of the same certain items.
I'm guessing the 'computer' gives everyone the same items as random gifts - to oversupply on that one item.
Hi, I guess you could say the game is rigged-but not in a bad way.

Land expansion items are a bit different in this game compared to all other randomly dropped items because this is the only item which is pretty much useless after expanding all the land but you can keep upgrading the barn and silo for quite some time and you always have a use for saws and axes and mining equipment.Quote:

What I find really frustrating is that we had 3 farms. All with too many mallets and stakes and almost no deeds. My daughter and I both restarted (I lost my farm but restarted several times) but she restarted intentionally, hoping that one of us would get deeds more than the other two items but no luck. It was fun to expand and find new technologies and I still have a few to reach but I'm getting a bit distracted. So I build, fill trucks, fill boats and all the time the requirements to fill these orders are more difficult.
I suppose I can fill all my requirements but some are just ridiculous. I've done the boat and the truck III thingy. I like helping out my suppliers and my followers but it's a hard sell to keep me interested.
It's almost like I"m playing this game for the other people. I want a nice horsey but I'm not in control of getting one because tickets are random. I got my 4th today in a chest.
I wonder why others would hoard? it seems like we should be helping everyone to advance. DEEDS are almost impossible, and I wish we'd get a tint token when we visit others to purchase items. It takes so long to expand. Devs please come up with some sensible changes before we lose interest. TYTY
Farming in real life is an amazing example of the abundance we all have. We teach countries how to survive on their own and to feed their families. I'm a real life farmer and where I come from, we share what we reap. Harvest time in the USA is a great time to let our neighbors know we care. I realize this is a GAME, but what a perfect way to spread the idea.
I'm beginning to think LAND DEEDS are about as rare as ALBINO DEER! Who's holding those deeds hostage, come on cough m up!!!
Gramma Judy, I sell mallets and stakes regularly in my store. Also keep deeds for friends since I've become too lazy to hustle on trade thread lol. If you need deeds, drop me a PM. I wouldn't mind getting a few creams for them lol but I can sell them to you also.
(If you have Kik, it would be much better as I don't frequent the forum too often anymore).
I think it depends on what you already have.
For ages land deeds have been like gold dust to me, i eventually got fed up and sold ALL my mallets and marker stakes to give me space in the barn, I thought it would be easier to get those back once i'd got the land deeds. Wrong!!! Suddenly land deeds were dropping like crazy, but can I find mallets now? Nope!!! Lol
Is there a limit to the barn and silo expansions? From what I can see they seem to go on and on, I was hoping there'd come a point where they were fully expanded. It does seem as though i'm expanding the barn just so as I can collect more expansion materials which seems a bit pointless!
