Giver of shields?

I just realized that i have been freeloading on the generosity of town hall snipers for some time now, and have never given anyone a "free" shield. To make matters worse, when i do leave a shield it is after i have done some very bad things to the base getting said shield. I guess i am kind of a jerk.

The reason i thought about this is a fairly high level player dropped a 12 hour shield on me after sniping my TH. Granted he was not a very well behaved sniper taking nearly 4k of each off my exposed collectors. Normally i turn around and raid those that deviate from the agreement, but i saw the base, level 115, and camps with loads of L6 giants it made me wonder.

Now i had nearly 400k elixer, 2k de and at least 100k in gold up for grabs, the person had the troops to go in, why drop 5 wizards and 80 archers and then go home? If i came across my base i would raid me!

So, the question is this, are there good people out there that see bases like mine and say, "dude needs a shield, ill just mess him up a little, leave the goods and go?" Do TH 10 level 115 players really snipe for cups? Have i missed a whole dimension of this game by just being a taker and not a giver?

From today on, at least once per day, i am going to find a base that needs a shield, and just give them one!
