Players who consistently Join and immediately leave a clan

Hi! I have a suggestion for players consistently joining in a clan and immediately leaving it.

1st: a player can only join a clan 3 times in a week
2nd: If a player leaves a clan there will be a cooling period of 72 hours
note: cooling period means that no clan can invite and no player can request a clan to join within the alotment time
3rd: trophy penalizations will be deduction
4th: consistent clan hoppers (as we call them) if possible must have an icon or name color change

I do hope you will have a positive response to this thread

please also provide more ideas and concerns so that we can mininize this issue

My concern is that I only join a clan to get some troops and then I leave, your idea would not work for me.

Then his idea is directed entirely towards leeches such as yourself... ;)

It's called hopping

i think it's way too harsh to implement some of your ideas. many will argue, fight for their rights to move and so on.
but i'm totally agree with all of your suggestions (except for 4th one).

Well his idea is daft then. People like to give me troops for free and request that I dont stay. They say plz leave and come back when u need more troops.

As much as I hate hoppers I disagree with your ideas. I mean 72 hours cooling period?! I left my clan yesterday to track down an old member and say hi. I was only there for 5 mins then I left. Also isn't the whole labeling feature a bit discrminating? As well as that hoppers might quit the game because of the tag making Super Cell lose money.

Instead I think Super Cell should add a more detailed biography of players. Like a button which says 'Past Clans' you click on it and you can then see how many clans that person has had within the last 48 hours. Recruiters can then decide if that person is a hopper or just an average, normal player.

Just a thought guys- agree, disagree I don't mind. Let me know your thoughts.

Actually, most hopper issues can be solved. Require players to donate before requesting. Close the clan right before clan wars. Dump junk that other people give you. I feel hoppers can be delt with in the current system. Also check out some ideas in my Anti-Hopper thread.

All these ideas are terrible. Set your clan to invite only.

Setting your clan to invite only doesn't stop hoppers- they can still be invited. Appearances can be deceiving hence why they still get into a lot of clans.

Sigh...if you invite them that's your fault.

From what ive seen, hoppers are only a problem for the low level clans that will let anyone join, they are usually the ones spamming "join here" in global and usually offer free co or elder. What you need to do is set your clan to invite only, kick all the inactives and sponges, set a minmum requirement and stick to it. Dont spam, try to talk to someone first and create a relationship, then invite if they meet requirements. NEVER accept anyone from another clan, if they did it to them, they will do it to you. Dont act childish or immature on global or else thats what you will recieve, childish immature kids! Dont give elder and co leader to every member in your clan, and certainly dont give it to new members coming in. If someone demands co or elder to join tell them to suck it. As long as you keep accepting any kid on global, then you will always have this problem. If you arent smart enough to deal with it, then learn to put up with it!

I willingly donate troops to guys like Vincent who may need a witch or something else for their war. And so what if someone requests troops then leaves? It's a little elixir. Big whoop. So much crying over the simplest things.

Now these guys who join a clan for war just to leave when war starts, that's a problem. Saboteurs are a real pain in the aspidistras.

Having a cooldown would be perfect for fighting the biggest challenge this game has. Hoppers.

Cooldown of 12 hours should be enough to stop most people from doing this. Even 6 hours.

Why not do this:

When ever anyone leaves a clan they lose all the troops in their castle. And (more complicated to implement) the donor gets them back or the elixir cost if their camps are full.

I like the past clans idea... But wondering why 48 hrs? I've been in the same clan since I first got my cc repaired, about 15 months ago. How about last five clans, with a timer, then, or something? When ppl are looking for loyal members they aren't looking for those who will stay 2 days.? And ppl who welcome hoppers, will still happily welcome them. And those who don't, won't have to deal with them. Win-win. :-)

about the req and go clans?

By inviting them you cannot know whether they are hopper or not - you are trusting that they are not one but you can never tell - it is hardly the inviters fault if the clan is actively trying to recruit new members there is very limited information/facility to actively recruit through the game without there being a couple of hoppers within the fray.

Set to invite only and deal with the few hoppers you get. Most people who leave after an invite do so not because they are hoppers, but because they think the clan they just got invited to is full of clowns.

Please do not bump old threads. If nobody replied for 9-10 months, that means the suggestion was not a great one or didn't catch the attention. If you think the idea is a good one, and is not ruled out, then you can create a new topic to suggest it again, perhaps linking your source.. but don't bump old threads.

I thought the whole point was not to create duplicate threads, but to search for original suggestions and use those threads, some people join forums later on with same or similar views and surely they are entitled to use open threads rather than starting exact new threads on the same topics, or did I read the forum guides wrong... and not use the search threads function?

Yeah, was just looking around, it was near the top of the page, liked the idea and commented (on a post that was made not too long before). I don't look at when it started in the first place. If a thread is too old altogether, shouldn't someone have closed it?

This might have been mentioned already but I think adding a data point or stat on everyone's profile showing how many clans they have been in or have been in over some period of time (30 days, 60 days, etc.) would help you see if they jump around or if they are really looking for a new clan or first time trying to join one, etc.

Yeah. Plenty of Clans have a certain thing called a 'Feeder clan' Or Alternate for people who are practicing attacks to be approved to the Main clan, or sitting in a clan to get their upgrades up. For Feeder clans that have less stronger people, and don't have the strongest troops; They can get their troops from the main clan, then quickly go back to the feeder for the war. Vince does this, I do this, plenty of others probably do this etc... I understand you hate hoppers Nexus, but there are others who take benefit from going from clan to clan. As I just explained.

And having a record of the last few clans in their profile isn't going to affect them, then, is it? It's not a high priority, do next update issue, (that would involve fixing this update), but it would still be nice to see eventually. It wouldn't be an issue for feeder clans or req and leave clans, but would help those looking for long-term, loyal members.
