Hey guys,
I recently read Gremlin's thread about how to make signatures, and I was thinking of making a GFX service later. So my question to u GFX designers is -
Does running a GFX Service consume a lot of time?
I am about to finish the 9th grade, and my summer starts after the first week of June, so if I do decide to open a GFX Service, it will be then.

It depends on you being a good, or bad Graphics maker.
If they like your graphics a lot, and if you're professional. You'd probably get 5-10 requests each day, and that is time consuming yes.
If they don't like it very much, you might only get 1 each day.
It really depends on how experienced you are.
I do it for two hours a day and keep up with requests pretty well.

Yes... it does... I closed my shop for now due to many requests... it takes up so much time.
yeah, thats what i figured....but Im guessing that I will be bored during my summer vacation so this may be something fun for sometime...

Your signatures are quite good. Keep working on them and you'll get more experience over time. Search on the internet or youtube on how to blend your images together and construct a well presentable signature. Your current ones are awesome.

A non-experienced GFX maker can't professional signature due to his lack of knowledge.
A GFX maker without pride doesn't spend any time in making them, which will lead in to half finished/ugly rendered and so on pictures.

Yeah, gotta admit it IS both, but I would lean more against the pride as in order to be experienced in the first place, you need to have pride in your work.Quote:

I use Photoshop and have used it for the past 5 Years because i took Graphic art at Secondary school (11-12 years old for you american that don't know what secondary school is) and i am now 17. i also use a Program called Cinema 4D which is the 3d text i do. its a complicated program but when you come to grips with it it seems really easy. And cinema 4d i have taught myself how to use that. its the only way to learn.

as of now, im using a free software called picmonkey which is really easy to use
i hope i can work with photoshop or anything else u guys recommend (but im probably to cheap to buy any programs)

I put all my effort into each sig and it took me half hour for each sig it was too much time for me so i closed my shop
I have photoshop CS5 extended and i dont pay anything. check your computer in the start thing in the bottom left corner. And type in adobe photoshop and see if you have it.
i have a mac, so no i dont have it :rolleyes:
Go on YouTube and type in 'how to get adobe Photoshop for free' it isn't legal but EVERYONE does it so... Who cares about it though. Just do it. Its great free. Who can afford £500/$750 on a computer programming just for a hobbies.
If something is your hobby, and you really, really, really enjoy doing so someone would definitely play $750 for Photoshop. Definitely.Quote:

I started with GIMP, and it teached me alot of things, and now that I bought photoshop, I can say that signatures don't get better because you have photoshop, I sometimes even switch back to GIMP, just because I know how to do it in there, and still don't know all functions in photoshop.
Why get it when you can have it for free? Well, if you like something, you should give the developers credit. I liked GIMP enough to actually donate $500, almost same price as photoshop.
