TH8 Trophy Push to Crystal League

Hi Folks,
Just like the title says, I have a TH8 that I'm going to try get to crystal league.

About my base:

Defences:
- Cannons: Most level 9, 2 being upgraded to 10
- Archer Tower: All level 8
- Wizard Tower: All level 4
- Mortars: 2 Level 6, 1 Level 5
- Air defence: 2 level 4, 1 level 2
- Tesla: All 3 level 1.
- Walls: Few level 5, All most all level 6, Some level 7

Army troops:
- Archer: Lvl 5
- Giants: Lvl 5
- Goblins: Lvl 5
- Healer: Upgraded to level 3
- Barbs: lvl 4
- Wb: lvl 4
- Dragon: lvl 2
- Balloons: lvl 2 (Barely use them)
- Wizards: lvl 4

(200 Troops Slot)

Hero
Is there any option apart from barbarian king? He's level 1. Saving up DE for level 2.

GUIDE/TIPS

• Before going down this road, make sure you are in the mind of not upgrading any of your defences, because you will need them all.
• Have most of your main used troops at level 5.
• Have a reason for going down this path. As it may seem frustrating and can cause to lose a lot of resources on the way.

STRATEGIES for use:

Giant Healer Combo (USED)
Opinion: It's decent, takes too long to train and forces u to spend lots of elixir. Despite, most people in gold league have lvl 4+ air defence which can take down the healer in a few shots. NOT RECOMMENDED

PROS	CONS
1. Longer lasting meat shield	1. Need to take out Air defence first
2. Almost guaranteed star	2. Combo breaks if run into seeking mine.
3. -	3. Really long to train
4. -	4. Expensive to train

BARCH/BAM STRATEGY (USING)

I think it's a quick way to get trophies and quite effective on TH7 Bases. (RECOMMENDED)

PROS	CONS
1. Very quick to train	1. Army number can dwindle to 0 by mortar shots or wizards
2. Relatively cheap. Can easily make it back.	2. Very hard to 3 star bases (Unless really bad)
3. Not much skill required to get the 1 star. (50%)	3. -
4. Effective in taking out CC troops and King.	4. -

I'll try keep you guys updated everyday. I'll post screenshots if I find an awesome defence or epic attack raid along this journey. This log might help other TH8 Players like me that are going through this path.

In a th9 nearly maxed but I remember when I was th8 I pushed to crystal 2 almost to crystal one using the batch army composition. Just th snipe or go for outside building its easy making it to crystal 3

Thanks for the encouragement. Whats the BATCH army composition? When i try raid, i try to make atleast how much elixir i used to make the army. Right now, I'm using a small version of giant - healer combo and about 65+ archers to take out buildings while the giants are being used as a meat shield. I use around 60k elixir.

That may have been a typo on "barch", which is what I used to get to 2180 myself. I eventually only kept meeting TH9s and above with level 2+ xbows so I decided to stop. I personally don't like TH snipers, so I don't do it myself, but it might be needed to get past those final trophies to Crystal II.

I townhall snipe for a living (mixing in rare full attacks). I've been in Crystal and Masters since TH 5 doing just sniping/bum rushing.

The nice benefits are lots of DE, decent league bonuses and low cost troops. I used BArch until I got minions going, now mix in a few lv 2 minions to go with the BArch (known as BAM with Minions).

One of the keys to pushing successfully is to raid only a couple times a day when you can go for an hour or more and let the shields you get work for you (like overnight or when leaving to work). So raiding in the morning and then in evening.

Hmm, i would use barch strategy, but my barbs level is quite low since i don't use them much. I only use them as a luring bait in clan wars now. Will try it out :)

Yeah that's a good point. But sucks when you get the shield during daytime when u are active the most.

Hi there,getting into crystal isn't that tough buddy and i got to Crystal when im in Th7 and yes i do TH snipe but not all the time. i always aim for a minimum of two stars but of course i attack bases which i think i am able to,bases which you think you can destroy but never be over confident just because you see weak walls coz their defences might be maxed(got screwed twice)

For troops i mainly use: (195 camp cap)
15 giants
5 wallbreakers
75 archers
40 barbs

and my defences are slightly weaker than yours so you shouldn't have much problems. Good luck bud :cool:

What are the benefits of TH8 Crystal?

The best way is to use barch, if your sniping th's you deploy barbarians first to destract the defences and then archers to shoot down the th without getting hit, if your really confident on getting a 50% on a base, you would do the same method. Just in case something goes wrong, you might need to get some clan castle troops and lightning spells as a backup
