Why do you not want to participate in clan wars

Please can someone explain this irrational hate of taking part of clan wars? I do not understand the want or need for an "opt out button" on an individual bases.

If I did not want a heavy involvement, I would explain that to my clan leader and attack something that I can win cheaply at (You know a 'farming' force, mine takes about 25-30 mins to make) and collect war spoils as profit. So I do not understand "I cant farm" or this or that. If you are a heavy donator then you should be the one wanting the war? like my leader? (I love him for helping out with his high donation troops to win)

Depending on your level and how active your low level bases are, hitting cheap targets may deprive them of targets in late war. Better you stay out if that's the case. If you're in the war you have to analyse it not just hit any base that suits you. Some people just prefer to be involved in a war or two if they are having other things to take care of for a couple of days.

While I thoroughly enjoy Clan Wars (we are 2-0 so far, Hooyah!), I lost one of my very best members because of it.

She was not interested in battling another clan, and did not want to 'drag down' the Clan by not participating. She was happy being a casual farmer without the pressure of playing a 'team sport'. Unfortunately, she left before I could talk to her and reassure her that was not a problem for me as her Clan Leader.

The introduction of Clan Wars without the ability to 'opt out' while still staying a member of the team will continue to cause a changeout of players from one clan to another. I think there are alot of clans that are a mix of very active, somewhat active but mostly social, casually active, and mostly inactive players.

My Clan is primarily madeup of farmers. Trophy counts are not a priority. We play to have fun, and as our villages grow more developed, the grind really starts to wear on the enjoyment of the game. Clan Wars came at just the right time for me (TH8, working skull walls & only DE troops research before advancing to TH9), as farming walls and DE with little to show for a day's progress was really starting to drag.

I am active duty military, and have several Clan members that serve with me (on arduous sea duty) from my command. When we are away on travel and unable to access the game, we are unable to participate in clan wars, despite our continued interest in the game. Choosing an 'easy' base is not an option - we just can't play while we are gone.

A changeable "opt out" button to keep Clan Members but have them tagged as 'non-combatants' would be very helpful to me personally for my Clan. Our military members could change our status before departing on travel, and go back to being combatants upon our return.
All without the bother of leaving or having to be kicked and later rejoining.

The other reason is that many players need to focus on farming and upgrading their bases instead of wasting time and resources to gain at most 700k? after 2 days. Not to mention its just down right annoying to be in a CW every waking second of the game. I agree with those that want an opt out option.

Like I said, I do not understand "having to go all out buying the best elixir troops" when I feel and done cheaper mixes for same or better results, keep in mind I am attacking at level or higher bases then my own.

I doono what it is like, cost wise seeing 770k but there is nothing there that has a low build time and cost? All the "farming" suggestions I seen for my level tend to take longer and cost more then what I do.

In two attacks of normal farming I might get higher then what I find but i can also "farm" while the war was going on. In fact I was holding cap elixir and gold and I was able to hold extra because of the clan castle as my town hall upgraded. So gave me more to spend when it finished, having 50 new walls at level 4/5 already was nice. This is what I meant by " if you do not want to participate or have a big impact on the war, why not just use your two attacks and attack like a normal base? of course explain that to your clan.

I understand for leaders it is different , cost and spending time making troops but they are the ones that hit the go to war button....

I have fun in clan wars because I feel it gets old doing, next, next, next, next, next.. Ohhh filled collectors! attack! as another thread said, clan wars can show who knows how to attack and who knows only "farming"

I feel bad for you losing her but also happy in the fact that you more or less explained it in a way "I do not want to go clan wars need button!!!!!" like I was trying to point out above, I feel there is a way for people make best of the situation and find a way to profit with less build time by finding a troop combination and not "10 dragon this or balloon and minion that.. Also people make it sound like you can't "farm" for two days, that isn't the case ether. (In fact I could clan war attack, do a farm attack or two while waiting for spells and king...)

(Someone suggested a town hall seven can use 50 minons to farm and that is a 36 min build time just with those things, higher then my entire force takes)

But Like I said I know it is a huge toll on the heavy donators/ leaders and I been trying to suggest more reward for them and also more reward when ties and loss. I am not blind to people's concerns and like to think of ideas to make it more appealing to people so like the story above does not happen. (Though in a way you have to consider she might made a hasty/ rash decision as you pointed out left before getting to speak to her.

It just shocks me since I feel people might wanna do something different then hitting next button 30 times every 30 minutes or whenever people attack.

I do understand it would be a good idea to have an opt out option on an individual bases so people do not feel like there is a timed obligation for being on the game.

If you farm a lot, having a war base and needing to be on when prep day ends is extra trouble. The loot offered is very little or equal to farming, while the army required is a lot stronger and more expensive, not to mention you lose a ton more if you lose the war.
If you just sniped or attacked an easy base while you are closer to being a top player in the clan, you are jeopardizing and hurting the clans chance to win the war.
If you are a player that donates a lot or has strong troops, you will be expected to donate more. Why would you want war. That makes no sense. You gain nothing from the war, less loot than farming, not even XP or recognition in clan donates for donating to War CC and spend more elixir or dark elixir. If you are constantly asked to make dragons, wizards, and hogs, and witches, which is not normally used in farming (for example) you will be wasting even more elixir than the 2 expensive raids you do yourself and making the troop slows down and throws off the schedule of making armies to farm.

Firstly, your army is only a normal farming army anyways, so the benefit is different. For example, a higher level player would need to attack a harder target for the clan and your army, regardless of the level, would be decimated before getting 40%. We can not use a farming level army to get stars. Also, our higher level troops and spells cost more even with the same army composition. Moreover, to successfully get 2 stars for the clan, a far more expensive army than the regular barch (50k or less for lower level) is required. Sometimes, mass drag or hogs can cost up to 350k elixir or 2600 DE (extreme but appropriate examples).
Farming doesnt even require spells many times. Plus, some people have work or other obligations and might not be able to come online for a whole day, and if that day is a battle day, then it will be totally wasted. Farming is done on your own schedule when you have time and you dont owe the obligation to attack to anyone but yourself, unlike CLAN wars.
An ability to opt out would make those that want to focus on farming or personal issues the right to do that without leaving and breaking apart clans. Most lower level (under 60) constantly want war because they do not understand the changes to gameplay or burden of players at the top of the clan. They use the same army to attack lower targets anyways and rely on the top players to donate to War cc and regular CC during war.

Clan wars was made to encourage people to stop farming. My clan is currently farming, and we hate having to rearrange our bases for 2 days so we can lose to a clan that is far better than us.

I am getting two and three stars using that on people higher then me though, so I do not understand why a higher level person that does not want to take part can't use a cheaper one for a few levels below them. (Or at least attack higher bases then I can?)

Other then that I feel like people are not reading everything I said (ref last two posts) Because I said I understand the prospective is different for the heavy donators and I been trying to make suggestions to compensate that.

As is though I think people are making a bigger fit or "rage quit" then needs be. (The biggest point i am trying to understand) Just don't take part if you have some co leader being spammy on the go to war button when you explained you do not want to? or attack a base that you can 1 star cheaply?
