Permission to leave a clan. A suggestion to control clan hoppers.

Cooldowns for joining other clans have been suggested a lot to "punish" hoppers.


I myself does not think any form of "punishment" is neccesary for hoppers as they are all kind of clan hoppers. From those with good intentions to those with malicious goals.


But if CoC ever need to adress clan hoppers, a cooldown for hours could make gaming experience for many happy players worse, some people do enjoy hopping and have made friends with more than just several clans.


A better approach than to indiscriminatingly give cooldowns to all who left a clan is to enable the elders or higher of a clan to permit the leaving of a clan member. The member still have the option to leave the clan without permission, but this would incur a cooldown that makes the leaving member unable to enter other clans for 12 hours or so.


If permission is granted, then the leaver would not get any repercussion for his action.


The chat post would look like this:


Hopper is requesting to leave the clan. Yes/No (the option is only available for elder or higher, same as accepting members)


The massage will say "Hopper has left the clan with ElderX's permission" if an elder or higher permit the leaving.


If the member chooses to leave without permission then the massage would say that "Hopper has left the clan without permission"

From the leaver's point of view, he/she would have to hit the leave clan button twice to leave forcefully. The first time would prompt a request in the clan chat, and while the request is pending a second tap on the leave clan button will result the member leaving the clan and incur the 12 hours penalty before being able to join other clans.

A kicking from a clan will automatically give the cooldown to the player that is kicked out.

An elder or higher can leave the clan without any permission or penalty just like it is now.

It's definitely a lot better than a cool down but what if people abuse it by kicking people out just to make them get a cool down time? Good idea though.

i dont think this is a good idea. once you are in a clan you cant leave?

Look there will always be hoppers, its a fact maybe they are looking for the right clan and they just can't make up their mind. especially high level people they join a clan and find out it is suddenly full of low level players but they are stuck there, and if the leader wants that high level person to leave he can just keep him there. not cool.

its the hoppers that leave in war that really aggravate people.

There will always be people who abuse their power and innocents suffer for it. If I can think of a way to prevent this in coc, I can create world peace.

people sh should be able to leave clans when they dont like it or if they want to join their friend/colleague's clan
If you dont like people hopping your clan only recruit memb from forums as most of them are loyal memb , dont suggest such insanely stupid ideas

My impression is if being in a low leveled clan is even worse that the 12 hours penalty, then The player would choose to leave the clan, endure 12 hours of clanlessness, and be more careful in choosing which clan to enter next time.

Besides, right now, even if the clan is SLIGHTLY disagreeable, an arrogant player would just leave it with irritating words just before leaving.

"I'm a TH 10 and this clan have th 7, I'm too good to be with noobs!" was once shoved in my previous clan where we were all at th 7 to 9.

I personally would quit my job if my boss is a big enough A**. It would be hard looking for a new job, but its better than staying. Same thing I'd do if a clan I'm in is bad enough, and I dont care about member's level and such in a clan.

Do you even read(?) my entire post? People are still able to leave a clan if they dont like it that much. And I have no problems whatsoever with hoppers right now and a co-lead of an amazing clan ATM.

The point of the idea is to discriminate hoppers that leave a clan in good terms and hoppers that leaves in not-so-good terms. If a clanmate of mine says his friends from school is making a new clan and he wants to be there, I'll let him go. If a player wants to ditch his/her clan during a war, then no sane elder or co-lead would let him go before the war is over.

And please refrain from using words that could very well be reflected to yourself.
