Chapter 1.
1.1. What are DE zappers?
'DE Zappers', or known as 'DEgintoyous Zapperdivinious' (scientific name) are a special species that were discovered by Bob Smith, PHD (1989). They are ravenous and aggressive, hungry for DE, usually using bolts of magical lightning. Up until the past years the have been living hidden among us, when a company named Supercell accidentally programmed them into their game after a update of their game called 'Clash of Clans'. Ever since then, these creatures have been making havoc in this game, doing their deeds.
1.2. Focus of this study
This study's focus is to logically and statistically figure out their motivations even further than know and providing information to other people about these species to other people who will encounter them soon in higher Th 7, when you acquire your DE storage and start DE farming.
Chapter 2.
2.1. In game effects
It is very simple, by zapping DE they significantly reduce the DE circulation in the game. Other effects that will be explained below will be digging in the topic much more.
2.2. Psychological
Zappers cause negative effects on a player's psychological state. Usually zappers inflict rage by zapping players when they are very close to getting a King or Queen to a certain level, with just a little bit of DE needed left. Stress from the zappers has been reported on these forums multiple times, especially during a special spell boost event.
2.3. Social
It is not as common than other effects, but sometimes when one is in the zapper's trophy range or say they got their barbarian king with ease, sometimes people misunderstand them for zappers and may cause a slight derail of the path that is required in order to have a social conversation with another person.
Chapter 3.
3.1. Habitat
DE zapper's usual habit is from 1000 trophies to mid 1400, where the bases are not as difficultly built but still have enough DE to fill a zapper's belly. To avoid them it is suggested that you should stay at gold 2 and above. The higher you go, the less and less zappers are active because people high up in trophy count are more mature and have the ability to properly DE farm.
3.2. Purpose for zapping
Their purpose is wanting to easily get DE by not using strategical attacks that needs lot of practice and effort. Most succeed at first because most DE zappers are TH 7, and their goal is to get the barbarian king which is only 10,000 DE. However they fail to realize that upgrades get more and more expensive later on that in higher levels DE zapping is completely useless and foolish.
3.3. People who become zappers
People who become zappers are split into two groups. One is a separate species called 'Noobsamilous deferiocon',also simply known as noobs who evolve into DE zappers, and the other group not a noob, quite skilled in farming, but just don't know how to DE farm when they have just entered TH 7. The group that should be helped by others is the second groups, as they have great potential.
Chapter 4.
4.1. Brute Force
This is a way to make the DE zappers learn better by using physical punishment. Usually the way is to revenge them very brutally three staring them, or using psychological punishment by killing all the heroes, taking out all the traps, and leaving them on 39 percent damage not leaving a shield.
4.2. Understanding
This way is the exact opposite of using brute force. This option is not where you punish zappers, but using kindness and understanding the hardships and inexperience by teaching them the better way to farm DE zappers. The way to put this into action is posting threads on the forum, making it easy and informative.
Chapter 5.
5.1. Limitations of this study
The limitations of this study are that I could not view the DE zapping in a DE zapper's prospective, thus maybe leading a conflict with a DE zapper that will see this study. Also there is a lack of quotes from professional Clash of Clans players and Supercell staff, decreasing scientific value.
5.2. Conclusions
This specie has now become a natural part of the game that there is no way to avoid them. However there are ways of protection, either brute force or understanding as I had mentioned above. It is your choice on what to choose and how you will react to them.
