No need to be worried man, i've had the same problem too..i was lucky enough to get a Christmas tree but no such luck with the gem box so far.
Have patience.:)
I also got no Gems Box yet since updated. No need to concern :D

What is this gem box that you speak of? As a matter of fact, I think I saw Big Foot run across my village but I couldn't screen shot it so I have no proof he exists! LOL

Just wait it out. It will come eventually. Just like the xmas tree's during the special, they spawn randomly.
I got one as soon as the maintenance break to add Clan Wars ended...
