The training time simple isn't practical for farming. When I know I'm going away for the game for a bit, I will occasionaly make an army with ten wizards.
0 wizards. Never trainined 1. They're still at level 1 while my giants, archers, barbs, gobs, WBs are all 5s.
Never use them, i havent even upgraded them.
I used to farm with 2-4 in my army pre update, for breaking down walls (when used correctly they were basically wall breakers). they were perfect for getting through spiked bases. now I dont really see a use for them tbh, so im undecided.
They are uber cheap compared to Dragons or Pekkas but the training time takes way too long especially if you're making by the masses. Would you rather train a dragon with over 10x more HP than Wizard for 30 mins or 3 Wizards that take the same time?

I havenīt personally tried Wizards yet, feeling OK using archer, barbarians, giant and goblins. Attacking every 30 minutes.
The only good wizard is the kind that sits on top of a tower, IMO.
Like most of the responders here I never use them. But with their improved attacking power I might try them on a regular raid. Then when I get my elixir storage full again, I'll attack using 50 wizards just for fun.

Have 4 barracks? Now even 5? There's no reason you can't spare one even if you're attacking every 20-30 minutes. Cook time is perfect.
I only train them when we have a 'Troops Happy Hour' and the guys with the best troops train special troops like dragons, wizards, DE troops, P.E.K.K.A., and donate each other amazing troops.

I use one wizard, mostly because they are fun to watch :D. I always have one training when I am away attacking, so when I get back, I usually either have one ready or close to ready. I only ever train wizards pekkas or dragons when I'm sleeping or doing something that requires time. Otherwise will I'm farming its a usual quick farming setup.

A wizard is the last troop you unlock in the barracks, he is a flying troop so he won't be targeted by ground defenses such as cannons, mortars etc. Wizards have a large amount of health but can't deal much damage and also move quite slowly. Just found out how awesome Wizards are on Clan Castle Defense. 2 Wizards took out like 50 goblins attacking my mines, fun to watch. :cool: That splash damage is freaking awesome.
Cheapest way of taking out 25 archers/barbarians too. Just takes a little timing.Quote:
