Want th8, but lack some lab upgrades still at th7

Hey everyone, Im back with another question, I want th8, but I lack a few elixir upgrades still at th7.

I have all troops lvl4, except goblin lvl4, heal lvl4, rage lvl4, and both minion and hogs. BK is at lvl5. 3 of the barracks still need one more upgrade for drags,and I never got to maxing the mines/collectors.


I stink as an attacker, and war isnt for me right now as weak as i am (I have to try and take out our opponents th9 ppl in our wars if there is any, it doesnt work very well unless they didnt put their th up) so I am wondering if the massive attack boost your army gets at th8 is worth going to as an immature th7. I dont want to end up like some of the weak th8 I myself prey upon as th7 :(

I also lack those walls at the top, i could finish them, or start th8 in a little while. We have a war day coming up at 2 pm tomorrow, so I dont know what to do :(


Also just realized I never upgraded my storages either, so Im alot farther behind than I thought initially.

Upgrade those storages! Ya the lab upgrades are slow. Can't wait for TH 8 and up lab upgrade times LOL.

Thx man, I am doing a hybrid of sniping and then going for 50% on bases where the person has left too many blds out of inferno/xbow range, and totally wiping lesser bases, equal th7 and weak th8 bases I come across for the 3 star with hogs and heal spell.

I still am not even close in skill as the th8 and th9 i see posting here on a regular basis, so thats why I say I am very weak (and dont forget noob, only played since this year).

So you would go ahead and do the storages and lab research? I am fine with it but Ive been sitting under a 2 day shield since yesterday ("war were declared" lol), and my gold is totally full now and my mines are filling up. I want to drop 2mil on the th upgrade so bad, I just lost a hogging on a th8 base I thought I could beat in our war.:( I need the extra power to crush with lvl5 and not need to spam hogs. (i actually used "Rage BARCHing" to get to crystal3, I love Rage BARCHing)


I could try for an all-maxed th7 first, but Id be there for another month. I am already planning on leaving my clan due to constant wars, and I dont want one to be declared on us while Im still a wooden wall th8 premie with a baby archer tower and wiz tower (like the weak th8 I prey upon in other words)





What gets me, is I see alot of ppl asking the same, and they never get a clear answer and explanation. Theres an older thread here where its asked, and a pic is posted and my base is so much more maxed (they had over half pink walls still, lvl3 wiz towers), and everybody said "make the jump, you will be glad you did", and in another they would tell him "no WAAAAY, wait or you will be sorry"...


Sorry for what? It was never explained so thats why I want to know. IS it that hard to gain loot at th8 vs th7? Does upgrading cause more higher level th to attack? I just want some insight so I wont be "sorry".

Well where you are in Crystal 1 obviously upgrading to TH 8 makes a whole lot more of your loot available to the attackers. The loot penalty decreases substantially for TH 9 and 10s once you go to Th 8 so you may want to drop down in trophies as an early TH 8 to get stuff more up to speed and then work on going back up.

Why not use some gold to upgrade your elixir storages now if you have it? You definitely want to have lots of elixir and gold ready when you upgrade TH which is why you should max your storage spaces and fill them- you use the elixir to upgrade your army camps and most used troops quickly and use the gold to build out the new stuff received from going to TH 8 (walls, defenses, etc).

The upgrade is slow so you could plan ahead what you want to do and calculate out whne you could start your TH upgrade.

I kinda like TH 7 right now so am not in any hurry so that's just me. :D

Oh I plan on going back to bronze3 as the th upgrades, but still.. I remember when I was th5,6 in bronze, I was constantly (every attack it seems) walked all over by th8,9 squatting there. Id say those there will see me and decide that I look like a victim still :(.

I guess I could just buy a week shield, and follow it with a 2 day and a one day to get me up to where those bronze squatters wont mess with me.


I guess Ill just upgrade storages, but Im gonna have to let somebody else lead my clan so I can leave. I simply cant keep doing wars where I am the sole supplier of all war troops. (I had about 1.3 mil elixir before prepping the war cc's, and I cannot raid due to all the request for troops I never use myself).


Clan wars is honestly what has stalled me. I was doing good until the burden of supplying all the troops for war was thrown onto me. The war loot is horrible and it dont foot the bill for the time lost for not raiding, let alone for all the troops I send..

I received your PM and decided to come to the rescue;):cool:

I read the entire thread and I think you should jump it. You have 5 builders and your storages are Level 10. What you can easily do is do the Town Hall and all four of your storages at once. You will be effectively ready for TH8. I think those troops will help you far more than you can imagine. Seeing your storages so filled convinces me you know how to farm AND the fact that you are farming at 2500 at TH7!

Personally, I think that is extremely impressive and you should definitely do it at TH8. Seeing the way your base is looking you should definitely be prepared for the jump. You have my vote on TH8. Do what you will;):cool: Good luck!!

OK this changes things. I think if you drop only go to 1400 as the lowest. TH8 loot drops significantly from there. Also as you are the leader you get to make decisions in the clan. Tell them no and if they don't like it they can change their views. Tell your clan that the wars will be weekly, not all day every day. This should solve a few of your problems. Thank you so much, GameloverHD. I had thought about doing all storages at once WHILE th upgrades, but my thinking is often flawed and I end up making a big booboo lol.

-about the clan, I really like the members, and even my co who has started the last unwanted wars. He is lvl89 and th9, and took me in back when I was a lvl39 and gave me witches, valks, etc when I was still struggling. He actually convinced me to leave my old clan I was elder in, and paid for this clan Im leader of now. I dont want to go against his wishes if he wants a warring clan, so Id rather leave and start another clan myself and not start a fight or bad blood over this. Its kind of an intense decision for me :(

Ya I hear you on the war front. I blew through hundreds and hundreds of thousands of elixir on dragons alone last war and others spend more than me LOL.

I wouldn't drop THAT low personally with trophies. I would go to a range populated by your level but up to you. You could always stay where you are and just get used to losing more resources from attacks.

The above poster had a good idea to use your builders on maxing storages while farming simultaneously so you have that nice chunk of gold and elixir at your disposal when TH 8 upgrade finishes.
