26k is actually pretty accurate. Maybe I'm not clear enough, 26k is required if you want to max out everything from the FIRST level. I'm not mad or anything, just pointing the fact. I spend my own hard-earned money for this game, not my parents'

Supercell's steve said already, they are looking for a fair playing field for everybody.

yea yea. big boy who doesn't know how to manage his own financial asset.

With the new update eating into his gaming/entertainment budget, he comes to forum to whine that its eating into his daily expenses/ transportation fee, where his wifey is slapping him for spending so much on a video game.

Lol, either farm with low cost troops or pay. Simple concept really. I have managed to farm COMPLETELY my level 5 drills. I had so much elixir that it was my last option. Lol. Learn to play or pay

Where did you read all that? You shouldnt have missed your text interpretation classes

So what, your budget for clash of clan is $200 usd per update/month ?

I took the none-gemming route and with 5 builders

at TH7, I spend around 1 month to maxed it

at TH8, I will be spending 62 days, approximate 2 months to maxed it.

According to gem calculator
(NOTE: This is not the amount of gems needed to max out each th, but just an example)
Excluding the gems needed to gem resources

th7 = 1 month = 3836 Gems, 5 builders would account for 19,180 gems

th8 = 2 month = 7536 gems, 5 builders would account for 37,680 gems

following the pattern, th9 will require more gems.

Updates that are released for TH9 will obviously be more costly than TH8 and TH7, as they will take longer days to upgrade, hence more costly.

Obviously if you intend to just gem every single new update, the amount of gems needed for each update increases.

Its not going to be fix, and obviously it will eat into your monthly budget for coc.
