Opt-in/Opt out necessary, not complicated

Think of your clan as a country, a country in a world war, you don't fight the battle in one place with one other country, you fight on multiple fronts and divide your army. Now wouldn't it be cool if you had your "elite" army which is your top 5 or 10 guys, and they are all in crystal league and are lvl 80+, they go to war with another group of equal strength, who present more of a challenge. Then you have the co-leaders desperate the rest of the clan into multiple small army's of 15 or so and they have their own little war, at the same time as the other guys, but instead with the 15 guys of equal level in the other clan, this way, say you have 3 seperate warring "battalion" or "legions" in your clan, then you attack another clan with the same amount of "battalions" of equal levels. There would be three seperate battles that make up the war, top guys vs top guys, middle vs middle, and bottom vs bottom. Then say in your clan the top and bottom guys won their battles but the middle one lost. Your clan would win the war because you were victorious on 2 out of 3 fronts.
This is would be organized by having co-leaders be in charge of each battalion. Each member would click on the co leaders name and the "battalion" option would show up, it takes you to a list of players in the battalion, at the top is a button saying "enlist" you click it and you are in the battalion, this way, people aren't forced to war, and the wars become more even
Let's not make this more complicated than it has to be. The above post is way over the top, my eyes glazed over halfway through reading it all. I can only imagine what the SC dev team would think.
This is not rocket science, nor does it have to be a costly and time-consuming coding effort by the SC team. The fact of the matter is that the lack of an opt-in/opt-out option is destroying the social atmosphere of this game. It's turning a fun chat-based environment into heated arguments, stress, bad attitudes, and even worse real life conflicts of friends and families not seeing eye-to-eye. I've been to dozens of clans for war, and every SINGLE one "war rosters" so to speak. They remove people, initiate war, and then reinvite. This circumventing of the game mechanics is completely unnecessary. When game mechanics are intentially avoided or abused, coding and updates have been implemented as they should. Exactly what happened with the cool-down timer for booting members after the abuse of it, and other such examples. This is no different. That was bad for the social environment and this game, just as the lack of an optional war participation is for the game.
This is not complicated, a single toggle or selection of opt-in/opt-out. It's just that easy. If they want to make it more elaborate like the very first post suggests - that's fine, and I like the idea. But at the bare minimum a very simple toggle, and then they can choose to update/recode it later to expand upon it if so desired. I happen to work in a related field myself and I know what would/wouldn't go into it, it would be a straight forward effort that could operate and appear exactly how one "not eligible for war" already does - they'd be greyed out if opt-ed out.
Given the minimal coding and hence dollar effort involved, it appears to come down to philosophy. SC ideologically doesn't like the idea of some warring and others not for whatever reason. In my opinion the only rational reason for this would be that they feel it could be abused. This wouldn't be the case however because the clan would still be slated to war against someone else in their designated range with whatever players have opted in. The only other side of their ideology would be a belief that in war, it's all or nothing - and that then spurs in game involvement. Well I'd argue that's not exaclty how "real war" would work either. People can choose not to go, can fein injury, can choose to desert (which actually already happens, and perhaps should be penalized in the future). If SC's philosophy is for realism, I'd argue than an opt-in/opt-out makes more sense than not having it. And we've already established that it doesn't spur in game involvement, only workarounds, "rostering", and social breakdown.
Anyway, I registered just now for my 1 and only forum post. Just so you know, there are tons of people that agree with this idea but just don't take the time or effort to register and post. I am one who finally decided to do so. Every clan I've been in has folks agreeing with an opt-in/opt-out. We're not in the minority.
Thanks for taking the time to read - I'm sure you'll do the right thing SC.
