Next war planning

I know that SC is of the opinion that when a clan goes to war, then everybody who is eligible must participate. however there is a way around this: Kick the ones who don't want to participate, find a clan to go to war with, and then invite the ones who where kicked back in.

Since there is a workaround why not make it convenient to select who is in and who is out? The aim of a user interface is after all to make it easy for the user to do what he can do and wants to do.

I am thinking that it would be cool if there was a menu where the leader can indicate a time when the next war is scheduled to begin, and where he has a drop down option for each member, where he can determine what they need to do to get in the next war.

the options for each member are:

• Required. This member will be enrolled in the war, no matter what.
• Excluded. This member will not be allowed to participate in the next war.
• May opt out. This member is in the war by default, but can opt out before prep day starts.
• Must opt in. This member will not be in the war unless indicating that he wants to participate.

When a war ends, the list will automatically be filled with default settings depending on whether people were active in the previous war. Those that failed to make any attacks will by default be required to opt in to the next war. Everybody else will be in by default but given the chance to opt out.

Nobody like the idea? If you like it, then you might want to bump the thread so that it may get noticed by Supercell.

Its a variation again on a solution which can resolve the core issue that CW has created. Pleased SC, stop the madness, the innocents being kicked, save the game and save your world! Allow waring participation to be optional for all players...

Great idea if war participating can be optional for clan mates. The leader or co-leader could exclude players who don't want to participate or who is off a while!

Yes very very good idea. Simply everyone who wants to participate, needs to sign in to the war or something. Makes no sense to go to war wheres players who for some reason cannot play..

More details about the idea:

When a change to the schedule that affects you has occured, you should get an automated letter in your inbox. It could for example be worded like this,

"The clan is scheduled to go to war in 72 hours. If you can't participate, please go to the war menu, press the calendar button and remove the checkmark next to "Count me in"."

If you have been set to must opt in, the message would look like this,

"The clan is scheduled to go to war in 14 hours. If you want to participate, then you must go to the war menu, press the calendar button and set the checkmark next to "Count me in"."

Absolutely need the ability to opt out or force opt out!!!

Yeah you are raising a serious and important issue. However, I would advocate to let players decide for themselves if they want to opt in or out of the war. Also because that saves a lot of trouble for leaders to keep track of who wants in or out.

I would suggest a simple toggle button for each player for either opting in or out of joining a war. In the clan list it is indicated whether a member has opted in or out so that everything is transparent to all members. (It could also inform prospect members who are searching for an active warring clan or perhaps a clan without wars). When a war is declared the matching system only takes into account those players who opted in.

I think this would be a simple feature that could help maintain a good atmosphere in clans.

We've been having problems with participation.. which has resulted in the clan being split up.
It's unfortunate as it splits up people too.
So I'd like to see a feature where you can opt in or out of wars too.
However it gets implemented, there are lots of ways to do it and just as many suggestions as there are people so I'll leave my ideas with myself for the moment.

I was just talking to my wife about how great it would be if SC would introduce a toggle like you describe above. This way, friends can stay in a clan together, instead of getting kicked in the grounds of not participating in war.
