This recommendation is as relavent as ever now
SC,
The wall breaker debacle very clearly shows that you are completely out of touch with player's suggestions. You claim that this change was made because of the frequency of complaints about their functionality, yet it does not appear that you read any of these complaints (or whoever read them did not pass along the information very clearly).
After over a week of hype, we are now worse off than before. It takes more WBs than before to penetrate deep into bases, yet we can hold less. Instead of following the path we try to send them on, they take detours to wall joints that are not necessary to destroy. Considering the problem that you were supposed to be fixing was how easily they were detoured from their intended path, it baffles me that you think this is an improvement. Nobody ever asked you to take the player control completely out of the situation... Players need to identify the path that needs to be attacked, and wall breakers need to proceed on their intended path, period. The stupid detours we have now are no different from the ones we had with wall spikes, only these come with a housing space penalty.
You NEED to put into place a way to discuss with players what you agree needs to be changed based on their feedback. A "Development Feedback" forum, for instance. It is clear that there is a huge disconnect with what the players are requesting and what the actual programming team works on.
For instance, had you posted 4 weeks ago and said "we agree wall breaker AI needs a slight improvement to keep them from being manipulated, we are thinkin about letting them target T Joints instead of the nearest wall", then you would've had a few pages of people telling you how bad the idea was and that it wasn't solving the problem you were attempting to fix. You could've then taken feedback and figured out the proper way to implement a better change without wasting your time and resources on something that doesn't even make sense.
You had my hopes up last week... Completely let down after seeing what you've come up with. Im going to stick with this game maybe 2 more updates and see if you can straighten out the nonsense, but if nothing is better at that point then you will lose my business. Not trying to be threatening, it's just a fact. You want to keep all information about game changes a complete secret because you feel like you know better than the players do, yet you consistently prove yourself wrong.
It's time to get some real feedback from the people who are spending hours playing your game and who fund your company. Stop being naive enough to think that you've got it all figured out. You've got a great business plan and I know it has paid off for you thus far, but do you want to make this kind of money for 6 months or for years upon years?
