I don't get the whole BARCH strategy...

I'm a TH7 and have way more luck farming with Archers and Goblins (fancy name for that?). Most of the farming consists of full collectors outside of the walls, so goblins eat it up faster. I still manage to get at least 50% most of the time. So why is BARCH so popular? Maybe I just don't know how to do it correctly.

My range is usually Silver 2 to Gold 3.

With Barch you send in Barbarians a few at a time to set off traps and then more followed by Archers. That is a popular strategy for a couple of reasons, it is cheap to train, fast to train, and with the right base 50% or more is easy to get.

Now with your Archers and Goblins, you have no meat shield, and once the Pumps/Mines are gone Goblins can't help much, so you probably can't get to a core like you could with Barch.

I use 80 Barbarians, 80 Archers, 20 Goblins, and 10 Wall Breakers. With that combo I can use a few troops on a Pump/Mine raid or use them all and go for a Storage raid. My range is Gold lll.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I just don't care about getting to the core when I'm farming. In most cases, I come across a base with full collectors, so once those are empty, there's no point in going farther. Except to get 50% when possible. I do try to carry a few WB's as well, for when collectors are full and behind a weak wall.

Some like BARCH better than arch/gobs because barbs have higher health, so they last longer. And they are cheaper and faster to train than gobs. The quicker you can train and attack again = more loot.

Plus if you're stuck at 49% and only have gobs left vs being in the same scenario with barbs, barbs will attack anything they are close to as opposed to gobs that will only target loot (and there might not be any outside of walls).

There is no need to barch at TH7. I am a new TH8 and did not barch until i became a new TH8. Heck i hated barbs at that level and thought they were pointless. I love TH7 because you get the camp upgrade and with the extra troops you can feed on TH 6 with little penalty. You can bank millions a day at the level with giants, archers and WB with a few gobs to clean up. I found the best range between 1050-1150 trophies. When you become a TH8 and still have lvl 4 troops it become much more difficult to use a giant archer combo. When you lvl up TH6 will no longer be a viable target. i have never used an archer gob combo, but i can tell you that lvl 6 mortars and lvl 5 wizard towers make quick work of archers and i would think you would not have much luck getting 50% with archers as you lvl up. That is where the barbs come in. Not only are they cheap, but they are a nice meat shield alternative to giants and target everything to help you 50%. Your gobs would get eaten up quick after they run out of collectors to raid on the outside and your archers wont last long enough to clean the rest up. I may go back to a giant/archer combo when i get my troops upgraded, but i can tell you that there is a very good chance i may not. you cant beat a 17K army that can still get you enough trophies to stay where you want.

You can still feed off TH6 with barch. I 3-starred them with barch, no spells, cc troops, or bk. You can 3-star a th6 as a th7 with almost any strategy. Barch is quick which makes it good for feeding off of the lower town hall.

I like to call Archers and Goblins "Goblers"

I prefer BARCH because it trains faster than "Goblers". Each barb trains 10 seconds faster than each goblin, and they cost the same amount when at the same level.

I set up 2 barracks with 45 barbs, 7 arch, and 1 wb. That gives a total training time of 1,195 seconds per barrack.
I set up the other 2 barracks with 48 archers. That has a training time of 1200 seconds per barrack.

This way I end up with 110 archers, 90 barbs, and 2 wall breakers. I only do collector raids with this strategy, unless there is an easy to get to storage then I may go after it if it has enough loot in it.

If I were to use 90 goblins instead of barbs it would add 15 minutes of training time compared with my training time of 20 minutes. This could be optimized by dividing the goblins up among the barracks more evenly but a straight 1-1 swap for barbs is not as efficient in my opinion for farming.

Barch is simple use half barbs and half archers. when attacking use the barbarians for a distraction then follow up with archers after. its good for pushing and farming

Because its cheap and versatile and fast to train. ive been BARCHing since TH6. please dont go full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the forums.

Very good point about the 49%. I've ran into that a few times using only archers and goblins.

lol, goblers. I like it. Thanks for the exact breakdown on the barracks. I'll give that a try and see if it helps with getting more attacks in.

goblin take too long to train. Barch is better.


But i m not a huge fan of BARCH unless my BK is ready with iron fist... again, BK takes long time to heal.
My fav is archers + minions or full archers, use all 4 barracks and dark barrack... train fast and farm fast.
