Clan Wars - Reward for Defending?

Sorry, if this has been mentioned before or just sounds silly. Also, I hope this is the best place to submit this idea as I see a million suggestions here.

One of our members asked if we get bonus loot for a successful defense and I said no, of course not.. but then something clicked and I said, well wait.. why not ??? Its a bit like sports where offenses are celebrated but defenses not so much despite being a very important part of the team and end result. Yes, offenses score and defenses don't but we're not talking about that. We're talking about reward.

Keeping the enemy from gaining 1-3 stars is great but after some thought, a reward of some sort would be greatly appreciated. I'm a farmer who is learning that trophy raiding is a much different skill from resource raiding. This new style of raiding (to me) is an art. So far, my attacks in 2 wars haven't gone so well (0, 1, 1, 2 stars) but my base has been fantastic (5 attacks - 0, 0, 0, 0, 2 stars). So my farming has done something good.

This could actually kill 2 birds with 1 stone for those who find the clan war bonus loot to be rather dismal despite all the hard work over 2 days. Also, it would benefit the low and medium-strength members of the clan as they are the ones who get attacked, possibly multiple times. Give them more loot, more encouragement, stay in the game longer ;)

Yup that would be useful as in our first war a guy got attacked nearly 6 times (yup you heard that right) and won 5 and got one starred on the sixth. He would be so happy. The win bonus on him is huge

Good idea. Somehow the loot winning needs to be increased, I think from both winning and defending

Great idea. in regular attacks we get trophies as a reward for defence. nothing here in war. make attacker loose star if defeated. or loot bonus

A small bonus, depending on your level, but yes... I like it!

This is a swell idea. I had two successful defenses in our current war and got 1 starred on my 3rd attack. I'd love to see a little bonus loot for my epicly awesome base. :)

I agree, but instead of being based on your level it should be based on who attacked you and with what.

If you get attacked by someone and win you will get what the difference between your loot and your opponents loot so if you get attacked by someone who is worse then you you wont get anything but if you get attacked by somebody who is better then you you would get the difference and this could be flipped for if you lose a defense to a worse player you would lose the difference.

Definitely agree with this idea. Encourages people to keep on top of their defences and rewards those who do. Also a little extra bonus loot would help cover how expensive going to war is if you're an active donor.

I like the idea but what happens to people that are never attacked?

I was hit by higher levels then me every time or high level troops and my results was:

First war:
Not attacked.

Second war:
One star (town hall standing)

Third war:
Defended
Three star
(and my third war I had dumb level 3 giants for donation =.=)

Like the others said, defending is just as important as attacking so we should get rewarded for defending as well

Indeed, attacks in clan wars are always serious, unlike normal battles.

So you should get some war loot for it, even if it a reduced rate to offence wins.

I did a poll for this 1-2 days ago actually must have fallen away.

Well the reason why this won't happen is because if you attack somebody, you are looting their resources. But when someone is attacking you, where are these random resources gonna magically appear from?

great idea. I am also inclined to ask for some kind of bonus if your base is not attacked at all. Out o 2 wars I have been attacked once, with never being starred.

Considering you get free bonus loot magically out of no where for winning, your point is null and void.

My clanmates have been talking about this since our first war, a bonus loot for succesfully defending against attacks and I personally think this would be a good addition to our clan war.

The defense loot bonus should be based on the strength of the defenders base, weaker bases tend to get attacked more often and a good base design can get winning streaks defending. So a smaller loot bonus suits the situation.

On the other hand, high leveled bases will mostly be left alone and rarely gets attacked, and if they are attacked, it would be by an epic army used by a skilled player, so chances are higher leveled defenses have smaller chance of a defensive win. Thus a larger loot bonus does not cause any severe imbalance.

This would also discourage the use of exposed townhall as a tactic to lure greedy enemies into wasting their attacks for huge loot as an exposed th would deny the village of any defensive win and their loot bonus.

I think this is a good idea - would subtly help raise loot for someone who wants to take part in CW

Since the loot bonus for attacking is based off of the defensive base how about the defensive loot bonus be based off the strength of the attacker?

So will this be added to the total loot bonus that you get??? or will you get it right as your defense wins???

Yes, this is a good idea. I like to think I have stronger bases than a lot of people because I actually take time into setting up a base that is good for clan wars and actually use some strategy instead of just throwing things together randomly. With that being said this takes some time, and it would be nice if I got rewarded for putting time into making a good base. I mean yes I get rewarded in a way that I help my clan win the war because I rarely get attacked and if I do it's by a guy with a higher level town hall than me (I'm town hall 8) and it is usually a 1 star or two star attempt if not a fail. But I feel like I don't get any recognition for this so a reward would be nice.

I agree with this. Id love being rewarded for defending. My base was successful defending on 3/4 attacks in just one war. When i figure out a good way to do this, i will post my base on the forums. Im new so i don't excactly know everything yet.

They should also allow for winning defense outside of clan wars.

I was attacked 5 times over the time frame of me sleeping. Sad part is they took more loot from me on all 5 than if someone would have 3 starred me, maybe I should get a shield if someone attacks for 3-5 hours, or give me the bonus for defending.

Or you could take a leaf out of the boom beach approach. On successful defences ( not all of them) there are gems to collect, only 1-2. Solves the issue of generating random loot but can be very valuable.

Clan Wars is a 2 day event. The resource gains from this war is rather insignificant for the 2 days period. I believe there should be some more incentives to spike things up.
1- attacking : whether u win 1 star or 3 stars, u end up with the same bonus. I believe if you add 10-20% over the bonus for winning 3 stars, it would be cool. Players will think twice before attacking a certain base.

2- defending : some small bonus for defending may be cool too. After all, you can only gain resources up to what your clan castle can hold. Maybe 10% for successful defenses.

3- overall atk: gaining max 30 stars, resource gains by members should be multiplied by 1.2 - 1.5.

This will increase everyone cooperation and coordination in trying to win a perfect 30 stars.

4- Special Scenario : SC may consider giving max reward (clan castle can hold) to the clan who receive 0 stars / 30 stars for successful defences.

I absolutely agree with you. Like you, I also have a farming defense base. The highest anyone got on my defense is 70%, and that's usually from a TH9/10 (I'm a TH8).

I definitely wish that there was an extra bonus loot, like:
- 100K Gold
- 100K Elixir
- 100 Dark Elixir

The problem with this is that it is bit unfair.

How come some people get attacked seven times and on the eight the enemy finally started him and I sit here not getting attacked?

There is a rished town hall ten just above me on the list last 3 or so wars or so and people always go for him and I'm untouched.

This is a really good idea. Even though noone attacks me in clan wars it would be cool if they implemeted it. Maybe 50,000 gold and elixir and 50 DE. It would probably change base on level or somehting though.

Yeah, this idea could be a little unfair. Some bases never get attacked. If the loot gained is set too high, people won't even attack, they will just make ultimate bases, sit back, and collect the defense loot. However, if the loot bonus from defending was significantly lower than attack loot, it is conceivable. For example, what if the defender receives the available loot left over from the attacker's attack? That way, no more loot magically appears out of nowhere than the loot that already does...

I like watching how this idea develops. :)

This is actually great idea but I have a question. Can a town hall 10 just join a low level clan and get lots of bonuses, or is there no bonus for not being attacked by lower lvl or not being attacked at all?
