Future of Clan Wars

Keep in mind before you read this thread, this is all speculation based off my experiences in the game and what I think people will gravitate towards.

So, clan wars has just started, and when you ignore the bugs and take all the awesome that you can find in this new mode into consideration, I would say that once again SC has launched another successful update, kudos to you SC!

Now, onto the future of this game mode, re-designing your base once every 2 days, even with the awesome new layout designer that was implemented a while ago can be very exhausting. Constantly having to change bases will start to takes its toll on people once the excitement of winning clan wars wears off.

So, if SC wants to keep things fresh, I would recommend that they try to implement a base layout saver, as suggested countless times before. It would help people out not only by allowing them a quick and easy transition between farming and war bases, but also between hybrid or farming bases and many others.

Should this addition not come, I think we will see a few things take place in the future. The only consistent clan wars players will be the top clans, because they are so ridiculously active and will not have to change their base, it will serve as a nice break to them, allowing them to constantly find new matches versus staring at clouds.

The second thing that will happen is a drop off in clans declaring war. People will lose interest in cooking expensive armies, re-designing their bases and having to worry about finding time to be a reliable clan war participant while trying to farm and advance their base. I believe that in a few months, if not sooner that clan wars will become special events like trophy pushes. Maybe not once a month activities, maybe one a week, but they will still just become special clan events versus a constant thing that clans do.

Not to mention the correlation between clans doing their trophy push and clans declaring clan wars will probably skyrocket down the road.

I invite you guys to partake in the discussion and tell me from your POV, Where do you see clan wars being at in a few months?

I see top clans starting to stop doing it, and noobs not progressing because they are in clan wars all the time

I see that in the next update, we will have a save base layout feature. And clan wars will instantly become much more popular!

agreed with first for the perm cuppers bonus loot dosen't mean much to them at all!
i semi agree with your second point
i don't like to refer lower lvl players as 'noob' though
they will still progress cwars will give them extra loot so long as they don't stop attacking altogether

I think for just now people are concentrating on clan wars, whereas it should be used to supplement the game.

I for one, actually think that they should NOT implement a save base option, because I think farmers are boring, and ruin the game for lower players. Im sorry, but there is no reason why a level 100+ should be skulking about in silver etc.

I've actually been having a lot more fun lately just raiding away. Not pushing, not farming, just playing the game as I think it was intended to be played.

I've found a good base that repels attacks very well, whilst keeping my loot nice and safe.

I think by keeping the game where you can only have one base, while mean that it might make people play the way the game - I think - was intended to be played. By players facing off against each other in a fair way. Yeah its all very well and good maxing your base, but what good is that if your only going to battle bronzes.

A farmer posted another thread earlier, stating that clan wars has been an eye opener for him, as he thought he would walk it with his maxed troops, but only managed 1 star in two bases well below what he felt he should have been able to take out, because it's not as easy as taking out low bases with your maxed troops.

I personally dont don't see the enjoyment in maxing troops to take on players with gold walls. It's like buying a Ferrari to go to the shops with. What's the point?

The top clans will need something to do, I would reckon that 2 attacks without having to wait to find an opponent would not take too much of a toll on them.

Keep the clan 'prestigious' for having a lot of clan wars wins, and they just gem their resources, so its not like cooking troops would be too much of a struggle for them.

As for new players, clan wars will be pushed onto them by their clan leaders and co-leaders, resulting in less farm time and more push time, which would add both good and bad aspects to their games.

First, they will progress slower, because clan wars will not be as profitable as farming, but the will gain attack knowledge. How many farmers do you see completely choking during their attacks at clan wars because they never learned how to raid anything other than collectors. It could result in more knowledgeable new players that have a wider toolkit of attacks they can use vs just raiding collectors with goblins

I agree.. I pushed to master with level 5 loons a few months ago and when cw started I had my lvl 6 loons. I expected to crush everyone, if I can get a star on th9s with lvl 5 loons I will be able to 2 and 3 star them with my level 6 loons right??? Wrong. My first attack was a fail. My second attack was a 3 star on a th8. Then our next clan war my first attack was a fail and my 2nd was a NEAR fail. I love how cw makes you think about the game in a whole different way and lets you practice with strong armies without pushing. THANKS SUPERCELL!!!

The purpose of developing your base, at least for me and those that I know of, are to improve your results when you trophy push.

I max my defenses and walls so that next time I trophy push, I can perform better. Not so I can pick on premature bases

By top clans I assume you mean trophy clans. There was a Champ league player that made a topic explaining why clan wars is pretty much useless to them (here: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...league-players). They care little for resources and it offers no trophies so really it's just something to do while they're on shield I guess.

I found it fun an exciting the first time around. The second time I was less excited because I had to change my base again and then trying to make sure I had a shield so I could have my base ready for the war when the timer ended. My clan seems really excited about it but myself and a few others there are growing tired of it already.

It's a pain, especially when you are all in different time zones and what is convenient for some isn't always for others for when the war starts. My trophy base doesn't function well for my cup level where I farm so I have to work all this ♥♥♥♥ out to get my base right for the war then try to get back to my farming base once it's locked into the war. I have to stop farming to make sure I get a shield and time to change my base before the war will start and lock my base in. Waiting hours for spells and heavy troops is annoying and expensive. And for what? 1 million in gold max and 4-5k de? I spend more on the troops and spells I have to use in the war battles than I get back in rewards. The actual battles offer next to no resources and the bonus at the end is dismal. The time and effort it takes means I get next to no farming done while the war was on. When you look at the big picture it's not really worth the time and effort required to participate in it's current state.

I'll be happy if they add a separate war base for CW so it doesn't affect our normal game, heroes available for attack as it's supposed to be a place where we can showcase our base at it's full potential but that should also include attack (we get faced with trophy clans and max everything so it's hardly a level playing field if we all have upgrading heroes), a separate CW army camp and spell factory so we don't have to kill our normal game participating in the wars, and lastly better rewards... the rewards are far too small to make it worth our while.

Well if the reward was better I'm sure everyone would be much more excited. I'm not very happy cooking a 3k DE 150k elixir army + spells for 3 hours to lose resources in the end
