Im at gold 2 at the moment. Loot is damn bad.
I'm averaging below 150k gold and 150k elixir per raid.
I am thinking of moving up to gold 1 for better loot.
I am still using lvl 5 archer barbs and gobs to farm and i find it difficult to loot all 3 gold or elixir storages during a raid. Is it because my troops are lvl 5? Upgrading lab in 1 day and after that hopefully barb or archer lvl 6.
Is there any advice for me?
i'm in the exact same boat as you mate. My th9 finished yesterday, but i had saved up 6m hold, 6m elixir and 80,000 dark elixir so i was able to do the following upgrades immediately.
1) Archer queen with 40k de and upgrade to level 2 with 22.5k de. That left me at 17.5k de
2 & 3) Double crossbows costing all of my 6m saved gold.
4) Lab upgrade with 2.86m elixir.
5) 1 level 7 army camp costing 2.25m elixir.
As you can see, I planned my upgrades prior to my town hall completion, which is something you probably should've. I'm level 73 so clearly I am a premmie th9, I decided to upgrade after maxing my level 8 walls in under 20 days and the game became boring for me.
I understand what you mean, the loot as a premmie th9 can not even be compared to that of a th8 with maxed troops. We are basically th8 until we manage to attain level 6 troops and begin farming like true th9s. That being said, you should probably go to the trophy range where you found the most success as a th8 and grind it out for a few days/weeks. I'm currently at 1750 and pushing to 1800-1900. The loot has been better than down at 1500-1700 and I have farmed 5.1m elixir today alone which will be enough for me to begin level 6 giants.
I intend to gem lab time as 14 days waiting for 1 level 6 troop to upgrade is absolutely ridiculous. I will never gem resources though as hardcore farmers never have to gem resources.

and what lvl was your bk when you upgraded
5 builders and he was level 7. I wasn't really farming for de when I took him to level 7. It was just because of my gold farming. I have also saved enough for level 3 archer queen 1 day after finishing th9, again, I don't farm directly for de but it just comes along with my gold and elixir raids.
I'll do the de farming after maxing my defense and level 10 walls.

I did this as well the way you managed your builders, it helped a lot I got th 9 exactly I week ago, my xbows just finished today and I'm loving them. I got all my walls up and now focusing a little more on the new defenses to get them up. I maxed everything in townhall 8 so it wasn't too bad as a transition. I managed to farm 6m gold and elixir and 40k dark elixir before getting to th 9.
I have my archer queen already. But she's just level 1.
As of now 2 x bows,1 army camp, 1 elixir storage and 1 telsa is upgrading.
Planning do my research lab as soon as possible. Miracle you intend to do level 6 giants first? Isnt it elixir expensive to farm with level 6 giants? Having said that giant seems to be overpowered at level 6, maybe it's not a bad choice.
You're right, the loot is terrible. I found those 150k after pressing next so many times... Im slowly climbing up now.
I am th9 6days old too... what base design u r using? Can u post pic plz?
Hehe, I already saved up my 6m elixir yesterday, gemmed the lab upgrade time and started my level 6 giants already. As i told you before, real hardcore farmers never have to gem resources, only time. You're right, each giant at 3,000 elixir is expensive, but they allow me to raid collectors and storages so much until my elixir overflows, so I don't have a problem with their expense as they are so OVERPOWERED. They're almost 90-100% stronger than level 4 giants so they should not be messed with, not to mention that level 6 giants are a th8s worst nightmare.Quote:

I used my level 2 queen yesterday and I almost 100% (with 10 giants, 8 wallbreakers, 44 barbs and rest archers this is my trademark farming troops) a th10 and stole 414k gold, 215k elixir and 1.5k de from him. She wasn't even hit during the entire raid. She truly amazes me with the way she is able to stay away from most dangers and deal massive damage at the same time. Anyway, I've begun upgrading her to level 3 now so she won't be on duty for the next 8 hours.

I use the black mamba base design by the pinoy guy. I've modified it to accomodate my 2 xbows, 3 mortars, 3 ADs and clan castle in the core. The mid and outer ring remains the same with the original design.Quote:

Upgrading your camps and troops will make a huge difference. You are basically raiding with th8 army's and a bigger loot penalty on lower levels.

Haha, I went through what you did 1 week ago and I understand it. I used the tempest base design by orz but it really was not spectacular and most of the level 6 giants/barbs/archers/goblins pretty much cleaned my storages.Quote:

I sat on 6m gold, 6m elixir and 80k de for 4-5 days while upgrading and was absolutely hammer by so many variations of troops. Balloonions came and conquered, hogs came and conquered, level 6 giants and healers came and conquered.
There's just no way around it, the best you can do is hide under your shield as much as possible and when it expires, raid enough to cover what you lost from the previous raid and prepared to lose some more when you log offline. Sometimes you may be fortunate and lose only 2k gold and elixir when a th sniper comes around. I farmed the 80k de around gold 2 - gold 1.
Remember, storing high amounts of loot attracts powerful attackers so don't be disheartened when they batter your defenses around.

Sorry to burst your bubble but my loot has not changed 1 bit after the latest update or maintenance. If anything I've had better loot because so many people are getting extra loot from clan wars. And 2.25 mil is a laughable amount that can be gotten easily in less then 3 hours play. Maybe your not finding it but plenty of others are. Hell finding elixer is like finding a rock in the mountains in crystal league.
also so there is absolute no point to keep a worker tied up on a new elixer storage till you come to the point of needing it. Camps and barbs are under 6mil. Unless you plan on archers first its a waste.
1750 was good for me, im pushing now so i cant tell you how it is now.
I was also a new th9 a week ago. Just finished my 2 xbows. I gemmed my lab and spell factory because raiding as a th9 with th8 troops without spells is hell. Im also farming in gold 2 & 1. You can also find me at lpu pirates 3 my name is the same. We can also make a thread that lets us track each others progress as new th9 chiefs.
I am finding a lot of bad trophy bases in Gold 2, giving a ton of easy storage raids. With clan wars, people are trying to figure out their bases or just leaving them in trophy mode for me to loot.....easy money.
Of course, I can still hit these yummy th7s for a few more weeks until I go to th9 on my accounts.....but even so, I am hitting a lot of th8s, th9s, and th10s with easily accessible storages.
What on earth are you yapping about??!?! No need to keep a builder on a new elixir storage until I come to the point of needing it?!?!?! Are you not even aware that level 6 archers costs 7.5m elixir to upgrade and there is absolutely not chance of upgrading it until you max all 4 of your elixir storages?Quote:

Yes, 2.25 is a laughable amount. I say this because I raided 7m elixir 2 days ago which started my max giants and only raided a measly 4m elixir yesterday due to the atrocious loot. I don't target elixir but mostly gold, the elixir and dark elixir just comes along.

My usual opponents are those guys who just reached th9 and most of them did not max their defences. I bet most of them are at gold 3 when they are th8 and went to gold 2 thinking there's loot. :P
