Just a kind reminder that when you see an advertising for an item in the newspaper and go to buy it, if you see the same item also being sold for the same price, please buy the one not advertised in the paper, this will keep the newspaper spot open for that player so their other items (if any others) can be advertised as well when players see the advertisement in the paper.

Id be glad to, but how would you tell which one is the advertised item, if there are several of them?

More etiquette rules! Hard one to follow. I bet most of us purchase very quickly from the paper. I don't have time to pick one item over another. Its first come, first served so you have to move fast.
For me, I can't help it but just buy them all. I honestly don't consider following this etiquette because for one, I may need them all and save it for my boat. So if I see someone selling the same thing at the same price, I will just buy them all regardless.

sorry-but the list of "unwritten rules" is too long and they all cancel each other out, so we threw them out, so this one can't even be added to the mock list.
If it's in the store, I'm buying it. And sometimes I'll buy a whole store out. I figure they don't want the stuff, or need the money.. therefore it's fair game. There is no other way to treat a store.Quote:

If you price the advertised item higher than the other items of same kind, you might prevent someone buying that first. You could also place it in the end of your shop, often people are in a rush when buying from the newspaper, and personally I prefer to grab the item I see first. of course, if someone is really needing the product and in the same time are rushing - they would not care how high the price is (if they are rich). F.x. Wheat is really cheap even at max price so you don't really care what price it is if you really need it, unless you're buying to sell with profit. But again you would most likely buy the items you first see when you open the shop.
Ahh I didn't know others couldn't see the newspaper icon. :( Would make my idea easy to follow then lol. :p

I don't know about everyone else but if I have an item in the store I don't want purchased by someone other than who it's intended for, I don't place an ad for anything. Newspaper ads just bring a ton of extra people to my store who wouldn't be there otherwise.
And yes, I agree with everyone else who have said "enough unwritten rules & etiquette!"
