Well hey everyone, as Hannibal mentioned, I came across his base while attacking and gave it a shot
Seeing his base, and recognizing him I knew that I had to attack, presuming my utter failure I still went for it, just for the fun.
To answer your question, Moe, it was worth it, not for the loot but for the experience of attacking a friend.
And, to you Denial, yes it was a very lack luster performance by me in the strategy department. I have some explanations for this, call them excuses, buts it's what happened. ------ I had an odd army, no WBs today, and of course I didn't have my usual 2 lightnings, 2 rage spells, I just had the rage. I figured it would take too many troops to lure out Han's CC troops so I just pressed into the base, went for my lightning spell, only to discover it wasn't there. My fault for not filling my spell queue last night before I went to sleep. While I was raiding I was falling behind on my notetaking (yes I do the occasional raid in class), and had to rush and deploy my troops faster than I would have liked too (I tend to take up the majority of the battle slowly taking away buildings then slowly sending in waves, which I did in the battle, but it was very rushed, making me more susceptible to Han's high level splash damage defenses).
How I would've liked to attack-
- chip away exterior buildings, like in the video
- send 8 WBs at each point on the NorthWest WB strip, in pairs of two, letting them take out the whole strip
- send all giants in, at the bottom half of the northwest side
- directly after the first mortar blast, send a set of 3 WBs in, to break the exterior wall (aimed between archer tower and cannon
- send a quick wave of barbs and archers
- lightning spell on CC troops, 1-2 depending on how much the troops have dispersed
- then, very quickly after the last few steps two pairs of 2 WBs, assuming one may be killed in a mortar and or wiz tower blast, to break the western inner core (so that the giants will be guided towards the core)
- Place a rage spell, directly between the DE storage and CC
- a wave of barbs and archers right after rage
- immediately after the wave, barbarian king and archer queen
- 10 seconds later, another wave of barbs and archers
- And lastly, about 10 seconds after, a last wave of barbs and archers
I think with this attack I could get Han's DE storage, 2 gold storages, maybe the 3rd or part of it if I'm lucky, and one elixir storage.
Han, the thing you pointed out about my DE storage being next to my Gold storages is an interesting phenomenon. When I had about 1500 DE available to my attackers, I was getting lightning-ed very very frequently, and now when I'm worth the full 2000 DE I'm not getting lightning-ed at all, only once in the last two days. My thoughts on this was everyone was DE hungry, right when the silhouette sneak peak was released, and now everyone has slowed down, or saved up enough DE in their minds for the impending update.
For the revenge, I think all the points you suggested are fair, it's up to you whether you use your heroes, however I did not. I'm for the idea of you not using a lightning, because I think that was one of the huge weak points of my attack (the fact that I didn't have one) and also the 25 lvl6 archers that will be in my CC are a big help on defense. WBs, feel free to use them, I think your 20 that you carry are enough to get to my core. Rage spell, go ahead and use it since I used one. make it an enterntaining battle, I see we've gotten a lot of people excited about this battle.
Hopefully we will have a part two where I can make a more formidable opponent on the offensive :)
