i leave it in there for as long as i can, because i often max out my gold storages, and if i collected this earlier it would just mean that i'd max them out sooner.
also my cc is in the middle of my base so it is even harder to get to...

It is safe, confirmed by me. I was raided, 3 stars, and collected from clan castle afterwards. Got the full amount I was rewarded from clan wars.
