War ended. New one started immediately all by itself

I happened to be awake when the war ended, and while I was reviewing the result, a new search popped up. The other co-leader was on line as well, but he claims that it wasn't him who started it. Since most of our members are from Europe I thought it was better to wait till a more sensible hour to start a new one so that prep day doesn't end in the middle of the night again.

I tried to cancel several times, but a new search just started immediately every time. By backing out of the menu and then entering it again I finally thought I managed to stop ti. However a couple of minutes later a message informed us that we were now in preparation day, so apparently I failed to cancel the search.

so the question is if this is a bug or if it was my other co-leader who were just too embarrassed to admit that it was him who did it without consulting anyone.

anyone else had the same thing happen?

Have not heard of this before, this did not happen in our clan I will ask around to see :cool:

Did one of your leadership press the start war button? I noticed the button on the results screen when our first war was over.

There's only one 2 co's in my clan. My war ended 30 mins ago and none of them are on. A war started 11 mins ago.

It's me on and no one started it.
I'm a bit frustrated, had to setup my friends base Tom morrow for wars but now he's going to be 3 stared again

Just trying to sniff out bugs if you don't mind.

Can you or the OP ask (If you're sure a co-leader/leader didn't push the clan wars icon in the village) if someone else pushed the start war button shown on the last war's result screen on accident. That button should only be active for co's and leader, but just checking all possibilities.

Well ... do you need to accept if someone declare the war against you?

Because, that could be the case ... someone finished their war, start a new one and you were there, without one :)

I'm and elder of a clan and pushed the start war button for the purpose of this thread and a screen popped up saying to ask a clan leader to start a war, so that suggests no bug there

Not exactly, you can't declare war on a specific clan, you start a war by placing your clan in a queue to get matched up to another clan by the system. No picking and choosing.

Thanks, I was hoping that that button wasn't somehow allowing anyone but co-leaders or leaders to activate it, glad your test didn't. Hopefully that leaves out elders, now if a normal member can try it, I can at least somewhat rule that out as a potential glitch.

i am just a member, and i have start war button

The other co-leader logged off before i wrote the post, and he is not on line often, so I can't interrogate him further before some time tomorrow, but from the chat I got the impression that we might have worked against each other. Every time I pressed cancel, he thought it was a bug and tried to search again, which made me press the cancel button again, and so on.

However when I told him that it was probably better to wait, he said all right, and when the war suddenly started, he claimed that he had nothing to do with it. Maybe he didn't understand that the search can go on in the background... I really don't know. He is not stupid, and it just seemed so glitchy to me. The fact that someone else had a similar experience reinforces that belief.

Anyway, it is nausea o'clock in the morning, and I need some sleep. Sorry that I can't be more helpful.

All elders can declare!! This bull..... I had to kick somebody from the clan for declaring when we sent clan mail saying don't declare.... on top of that we got the spectator glitch so ugh...

I don't believe it has to be mutual to start? I could be wrong, please correct me if I am. Our mail said "________ has declared war on your clan!" Not sure if one of our leaders did anything.

I just eldered myself and could not start a war with the normal button. I've had elders check with the "Start War" button you see once a current war ends, and also couldn't. So I do not believe all elders can declare, but I"m open to details how your elder believes he did.

I've also seen reports where when a war ends, there is a brief "Matching 50/50" message that flies across the screen when you're transitioning from the results screen back to your village, but it wasn't "Real", still trying to figure that one out too.

Correct, each clan's co-leader(s) or leader simply places their clan into the active queue for the system to pair them with another like clan. Once you're paired, prep day starts, but neither clan got to "Pick" the other, the system does, you just make yourself matchable.

maybe your leader/co-leader pressed the start war after your first clan war ended.And about that words"I cancelled the clan wars"maybe it's a bug or you just suffer lags

I did it as a member. It didn't work and had the same response as that of the Elder that recently posted.

For example you aren't looking for a war but someone finds you.....does that mean you have to accept the war or is this even possible? Confusing...........:eek:

I finally got to talk to the other co-leader again. He said that what happened was that he tapped the search button by mistake, and then he thought that backing out of the menu would cancel it, (which was a false assumption, but that's not the issue here).

Ate the same time I saw the search starting, and tried several times to cancel it without any luck.

That means that something wrong IS happening. It may be that it is on purpose that only the person who started a search can cancel it again, but then why would the other leaders even be presented with a cancel button that doesn't work? If any leader is supposed to be able to cancel a search, then there was a bug in this case.

Either way something is not right.

for me the other clan forcefully initiated war
we did not click start war button and were not given the chance to decline

It is possible that if an elder/member hits the "start war" button, it does actually start searching. It just shows the elder/member the "ask your leader" screen. So keep in mind that it could be happening in the background. Ya might want to check that possibility. ;)

Ok, people seem to be confused about matchmaking, so here's an analogy. Think about normal matchmaking: when you're online/have a shield you're not in it, when you're offline without a shield people within your (trophy) range can randomly search with the possibility of getting you as their target (ignore revenges for the sake of the analogy). In terms of clan wars, all clans, by default, have an infinitely long "shield," so if they don't do anything, nobody can attack them.

However, if a leader/co-leader presses the "Start War" button, the clan immediately turns into an "offline player without a shield." Any other clan within the same range has the possibility of getting your clan while searching. In clan wars, however, instead of attacking your base like in normal matchmaking, the other clan that "found" you is now at war with you, and you enter preparation day and go from there.
