Clan War talks and thoughts

So yeah! after the first Clan War, are you going to another one because I think it's just a waste of time if you go for it with people you don't know. While we were in the preparation day someone just spammed us by donating level 2 goblins! WTH!! serusli!! okey we are losing so horribly for 48 to 72 so yeah I think this well be the first and last clan war I'll play unless they give us the choice to decide who will be in the war and the ability to dump the troops on the clan castle and choose what to dump and what to keep.

so this is all about my opinion I'd love to hear from you guy what you think, how to choose the clan to be with, do you enjoy the clan war and so on...

Clan Wars castle input

Im just curious why my clan mostly received giants and archers while my opponents had Dragons, Pekkas and wizards. That seemed a little unfair.

Well for us on Prep Day we didn't let anyone join. We made sure we put the requested troops in all the bases before we started accepting new members.

The war takes over clan chat, your messaging app, and your base.

You have to re-arrange your base twice (unless you have a transformer in which case +1).
You have to train troops specifically for CW.
You can't use heroes if they are upgrading.
If you lose the war, your clan loses morale and all the Elixir/DE put into the war effort.

All of a sudden you have something to lose:rolleyes:

Putting the numerous bugs floating around aside, war is supposed to be an ugly thing. I think this update simulates how going to war is so costly and unpredictable. My clan has a lot of people from different time zones, so it was pretty funny how I went to sleep with the clan losing then waking up to having more stars. I like this update, and I'll like it more when they get fixed. :p

And yes, I wasted a lot of resources. But I quickly got it all back.

And yes, I wasted a lot of resources. But I quickly got it all back.

We were facing a German clan. I went to sleep with our clan winning 75-11 and then woke up to a 85-40. Shows what happens with the time zone changes. Either way, we are still creaming them;) Poor clan had no chance. Their bases were FAR weaker than ours:eek:

I definitely prefer it this way. Safe farming is cool and all, but some high stakes reinforce the clan's efforts and communication for the best interests of everyone involved. :o

Its an interesting concept. But yeah. Between this and the overall bugginess (yes i understand they are working hard and correcting things) not as much fun as i was hoping it would be.

It sounds like some people need to be removed from your clan, or else you need a new clan. The idea of the clan war does kind of depend on good clan structure, and on you being able to trust your clanmates.

Those are both great ideas I hope they consider. Hopefully people keep pushing/mentioning them. The CC thing sounds like it will happen but the opt in and out still needs to be pushed by people IMO as a good idea and way to keep clan members balanced and happy.

I am going to make 815k gold from 2 attacks. I will definately be doing it again.

Our opponent was honestly too easy though. We are winning. 76 to 31 right now and the war ends an hour from now.

I'm definitely all for picking the members you want to be participating. It'll avoid unpleasant situations where a low-trophy-count member is left out despite deserving to be in there (it's happened already), and it'll let us leaders and co-leaders micromanage the inactive users more efficiently.

I mean, say there's this guy who's a great member but he's having some busy weeks with college/work/whatever. He's not going to be any use in wars during that time period and it can't be helped, but it's not like I'd feel comfortable kicking out a member we were all otherwise very glad to have around, just to avoid some stars getting taken. So then the feature to not select him for the war comes in and problem solved.

Granted, I am aware this also has its shortcomings, like a super elitist clan deciding to just pick their 10 best buddies and leave anyone else out because they're just not good enough. But, I'd argue in this situation people could just quit and join a clan with decent human beings.

Ya, a lot of time and elixir lost... Not too many people using 3 archers to snipe a one star TH. :p

Personally I think this is a neat side idea to do something different but if you are a young and growing TH farming obviously completely dominates Clan Wars in terms of efficiency for loot.

On the plus of course this requires team work and hopefully a bit more bonding between clan mates (vs going the other way and causing stress in clan). It'll be interesting to see how people continue to use the big update as things improve with bugs and such.
