Clan Wars is an eye opener
Clan Wars was a good learning experience for the co-leaders of our clan. First of all, we learned who the good attackers are. Sure, someone can share a replay of good loot or a nice victory, but seeing them get 11% on someone a whole town hall lower than them is surprising, especially when this was their best attack. We also learned who the slackers are. I mean, you can go on every day but once the War starts, you disappear and don't attack. Now we know who needs practice attacking and who deserves the boot. Thanks Supercell, not just for the update, but for helping us learn who is dedicated to the clan!
Probably one of the best threads on here
We have also learnt a lot and CW has definitely changed the way we play.
We're mostly TH 10 bases, level 85 - 105. Play in the Crystal Leagues from III to I.
Honestly half my clan was so bored, it was literally only two people attacking most of the day and you had to wait ages to get donations.
Now with CW
1> The entire clan is more lively, since all of us are already in the crystal league (44 members) it forces us to compete to get more trophies as bottom 4 sit out CW :P (or more depending on what it matches)
2>We will be playing clan wars non stop. It's awesome. Loot bonus of 750k for me in 2 attacks, which is on par with farming. Yeah I lose a lot more in donations (2 of us filled every camp with wizards) , but it was great to see the clan get along
3> After the war, we had a debriefing period. Where everyone watches replays and critiques everything. Once again, CC luring and hero baiting were pathetic. Even for my most experienced farmers :P .
4> That said, one of my attacks was a 3 Golem / 3 Witch / Wizard GoWiWi on an absolute BEAST of a TH10 and I got th TH and 50% ... so I was super stocked to learn what my armies could do
5> Inactive members: I'm really at a loss on what to do here. If the inactive member has a ♥♥♥♥ base, but TH and CC centralised, I prefer to leave them in.
Logic:
Leave them in: I can donate wizards, makes them look like an easy 3 star, then wizards come out to the players that can't lure to save their life and wipe 24 hogs off the map. If I don't kick these clan members, because their bases are poorly levelled, they lower the "Strength" of my clan, so we're matched with a comparatively weaker clan. Which my active players can then take advantage of..
Kick them: If I kick these players, then the opponent clan has to focus their attacks on my active stronger players (good thing). However it matches me with a stronger clan, and my players , as many of you have described, aren't good at attacking.
I've seen clan chats talking about a TH 10 base, level 8 walls and Level 2 infernos, L3 crossbows and maxed wizard towers. They were basically saying it's impossible to 1 star that base.. Pure farmers haha.
So I think I'll leave my inactives in as long as their CC is centralised and give them strong CC donations for now.
6> Trophy armies: One thing here though, for some reason every base I look at I think Balloonions will fail (I think when you have so much time to scout you actually think too much) SO then I find myself overbuilding armies and wasting resources to build GoWiWi etc. We should really have a thread about great CW army compositions based on Troop Capacity.
Also I feel kinda bad but I wish I had someone to coach my in my clan. No-one there uses the forums. Sometimes I feel like leaving for more active clans based on what you guys described but I've worked so hard to get that clan to where it is today. Basically typing out forum tips in clan chat cause they are all too lazy to read, but curious enough to wonder about things :P
Anyways, thanks for sharing your experiences
Marines&usaf vs the great dragons
Well we won 85 to 56 , the dragons had better and higher townhalls than we did, we won by simply having
more active players than they did. We had 6 no shows out of 45 they had like 12 . I guess number matter.
We are plagued by inactive members
They left their ths outside, their bases are weak, and they cant attack.
Now we have to make a decision whether to remain a relaxed farming clan or a ruthless warring clan.
