My base layout is that of a farmer i.e TH outside. Now that the CC holds resources does that mean it needs to be in a secure area as well as the Town Hall? You see I thought it was just the TH at first but now I'm wondering...

bring your townhall inside and protect also the storages!!!also the clan castle because you will hold some loot too there!!!
You should always protect your cc, farming or not, as the troops inside can determine whether you can protect your resources.
You don't lose your own resources in Clan Wars, so don't bother protecting resources with your war base. Then just go back to a farming base after the base locks in and saves. You should always have Clan Castle in the core anyways.
I would protect your town hall, but have your CC relatively protected. I learned that when people attack you they can only steal 10% of the resources you have in your clan castle, which is only like 30000-50000 depending on how much loot you have from Clan Wars, and what level your CC isQuote:
