X-swords in clan war

There are currently a few bugs with clan wars, forum mods have said that SC are working to correct these bugs in the next few days.

I have not found a definitiveanswer. My clan has 37 members, we got paired with a clan with 34 members, and three of our lowest members are spectators...they are not on the war map at all. Of the 34 in the war, those on the war map, the top half of the bases on the map can receive troops, the bottom half cannot, and all those that can receive troops have the emblem by their name.

So the most I know for sure at this point in time: the emblem by your name means you are on the top half of the war map, and that you can receive defense troops in your war base.

Can somebody from SC please confirm whether the people without the x-swords can partake in the clanwar or not ?
We have a 35 vs 35 match and 15 of us do not have that symbol. The other clan also has 35 players, so it doesn't make sense that some cannot participate.
Especially since it's some of our strongest players.
I know everybody is cooking up expensive troops, so it would be a huge blow on morale if those people without swords cannot participate in the war.
It doesn't say they are spectators anywhere in their clanwar part of the game, btw.
They are also the ones with low townhalls on the war map while in reality they have high townhalls.

If those people do not participate, we won't have any chance in the war and we might as well inform everybody not to waste troops for it and just wait until the clanwar is over to try again and see if it's without bugs the next time.

Some official info on this would be good.

You guys are lucky to have at least a few members with that crossed swords. We do not have a single person with that badge in a 40vs40 war and all of us are on war map. Sucks hard and was not fixed by maintenance.
