the clan war update is quite amazing. but some problems
device: iPhone 4SiOS version: 7.1
problem: full loading bar, but never enters game properly.(only when using wifi; enters game smoothly using 3G or GPRS)
more details:
1.meet problem with both school wifi and home wifi(using my pc as a hotspot)
2.tried every troubleshooting steps in the forum listed(except factory reset); not working
3.successful in connecting to http://portquiz.net:9339/ for both wifi
4.both wifi works fine before the clan war updates, after the update cannot enter through wifi
5.other activities works fine on the device through wifi (open webpage, using apps, watching online video, downloading apps)
I'm quite sure it's due to the newest update and hope supercell could fix it quickly, thx a lot.
walls should be small factor in matching, walls are useless when attacking troops are balloons,dragons and hogs. i observed that my clan that have much better walls matche to a clan that has more higher th10 n 9 meaning having infernos towers xbows weaker walls than ours.. so in normal game i will just leave the wall behind and upgrade to a higher th... it will benifit me more in clan wars

Loving it. My clan won our first war and it was EXTREMELY balanced. They made a mistake by going for our lower players, and losing(lol)
It worked just great, with a few minor issues already described. It was a victory, with more than decent extra loot, it made our clan alive again, I got to know new clan members, discovered some, some old farmers got in trouble with the 3 stars attack goal when they're used to rush ressources.
I really enjoyed the spirit of this update, more generally, what it does to the clan's life, like a new breathe. Being one of the leaders, I got stressed during my 2 attacks, taking some kind of "responsabilities" and trying to be an example.
A hell lot of fun in this update, made the game like new to me. Great job on this one guys.

Loving every single detail of the implementation and of the consequences this update already had and will have for the daily clanchat.

There is a thread in bugs un which there are some of us that can't connect to clash. We can only use WiFi, and our ISP and everything is ok. All of the updates that have been released haven't solved this problem. If you could please check this thread and hep us out...

Our clan also had a great time on the fight day. Prep day was a bit less fun, since unknown lower players donated goblins and bombers to everyone's war castles. I couldn't fit the dragon in my war castle because of that.
There really must be an option to empty your war castle on prep day, why wouldn't there be one?
But even more important is the ability to save at LEAST one layout. Going back and forth from our farming bases takes way too much time and patiente. We will most likely wait for this feature untill we go to our next war.
Every other aspect worked great and CW is shaping up to be a great addition to CoC. Win bonus loot is to low though and I believe we still need a seperate leaderboard for CW.
As for the matchmaking, our enemy was a bit stronger in regards to THs, but we won anyway. The ability to rewatch every single replay is very welcomed.
Congrats to SC and props for the fast post CW release maintenance break. Hope to see more updates in the near future.
-option for ppl in clan - toggle on/off (whether u want to participate in clan wars or not so you're not forced to drop trophies, leave clan)
- a way to save clan war base layout ( ultimately best solution so you don't have to rearrange your base all the time)
- clan wars clan castle troop dump (already mentioned)
Please add all of these, and make the game so much more enjoyable for all so ppl don't have to use the "loopholes" to avoid being q'ed for clan wars..... but hey if these features aren't added I'll just go back to being clanless.

now for the feedback from M-Power clan, since this war is over now.
We love the clanwars, it's tons of fun and much more interesting than farming or pushing.
Don't get me wrong, we also loved the game before, but now it's even better.
We won the first war with almost 40 stars lead. The matchmaking was a little in our favour, but also the other clan failed on quite some of their attacks.
The design of the maps and war log ist great, awesome to be able to see all replays, two days for a war seems just fine.
We are in the middle of our secon war's prep day now.
The new matchup is ok as well, this time the other clan looks a bit stronger on the top end on first impression but I haven't scouted all their bases yet.
Unfortunately, we had a member leave the clan who will now be missed as an attacker in the war very much.
He was a newcomer from yesterday which brings me back to my suggestion of my first post in this thread, that people should have to be in a clan for like a week before they can fight a war, to not have those jumpers hurt the clan.
Another suggestion would be that the text one writes in clanwar clancastle for donations is saved, like it is in the normal clancastle.
So that you can write down your standard donation request for clanwars once and it is there in the next clanwar as well, until you change it.
all, we love the clanwars very much and most likely will be having them 24/7 :)
1. ability to set clan war layout anytime. many times. permanently until change made.
Still dont understand what supersteve said about saving clanwar layout causing confusion. it will make life easier than swithcing the base at the end of preparation day since i can not online all the time.
2. Leader has ability to rearrange clan members who in or out of clan war before star searching match. it help to avoid problem with clan members whois not active or away temporary.
This is a small thing, however donations to clan war base doesn't increase the troop donation achievement. Maybe create a "A clan in need" achiement to mirror the "a friend in need" one would be awesome

Way to fix the bugs in a timely manner. There were a couple annoying ones, no real show stoppers, and I'm impressed with just how quickly you guys knocked them out.
I'm sure there are about a million different feature requests floating around (heroes in CW while UGing, saving layouts, etc.) and I'm excited to see CW get even better/slicker, but I just want to say, the way I and my clan feel right now is:

This is a clan effort, so rewards shouldn't be individual but to all players that take part.
It is actually punishing those players that dare try to attack the hardest villages, since they have the largest chance to fail.. While awarding those taking the easy villages instead.
I was worried about this myself and would welcome the ability to save a different map for CW myself, but I think in reality this is a non-issue for the following reason: Sniping a TH only gives you 1 star which is next to meaningless in CW. It's really all about getting 3 stars so if you can lure some snipers and limit your opponent to 1 star simply by leaving your TH exposed then I think that's a win.
How to make your clan not participate in battles? Is there a way or you have no option?
We finally started our clan wars this weekend, and just wanted to provide some positive feedback as there has been a lot of negativity with all the initial bugs. We got great clan matches and its going to be a fair fight. I really look forward to the update when we can select which of our war base clan troops we can dump, as someone gave wrong troops, but overall brilliant addition, so glad to see that clan wars is here to stay and its really the clash of the clans!:cool:
So, is every clan in a pool to be selected from even though we don't press the 'Start War' button? In other words, if no co-leader or leader presses start war, we won't be a war? What if another clan starts a war? Can we be selected even though we don't press the button?

Anyone else lose there profile? I went up from gold 1 to crystal 3 and now it shows no league and my profile is missing lol... It just happened after I was attacked and it switched leagues...
I have been playing clash of clan from the minute it hit the app store and this is by far the best update yet. I hipe for the next one we get some type of troops that come from the water like a boat or something. And on a side note did not get any dark elixer from clan wars
I think not. War is declared unilaterally. At least, we woke this morning to find we were at war.
I personally wish there was an OPT IN button for clans, as well as for individual members within clans.
We won our first war despite many non-participants: 40v40 war, should've been 80 attacks per side. We used 47/80, they used 51/80. A couple of members left in Prep Day, others just don't play every day.
Great fun, nonetheless. Definitely helped foster more cooperation within our clan.
Oh, matchmaking seemed very fair, too. (Well, we won, so I'm biased...)
Not so:
1. The hardest villages give the most rewards by far (assuming you at least 1-star it, & your side wins the war);
2. Players attacking lower ranked villages may jeopardise the chance of their clan winning.
(It cuts both ways too. In our first war I 3-starred the #2 base, then was asked by our leader to 3-star a lower ranked base, to guarantee we won. I could've 2-starred their top base (TH10), but instead followed orders & levelled their #5. We won by 11 stars anyway, & it effectively cost me 1200 DE & c. 150k apiece of gold & elix... Offset by the joy of winning! We are all new to this, learning fast I hope...)
Gotta say I loved our clans first war. I was shaking with adrenaline on my second raid knowing only a 3 star would take us back in front. 600k bonus loot too was enjoyable too.

There's one thing that made me insult a few guys in my clan, and after a war was over and a new one started, I already got some minions in my CC war base, but no one realized that the msg was from the PAST war ... and I asked that bc I knew the other guys will attack with some specific troops.
So, could you please delete ALL the custom msg from the CC in war bases?

I would love to be able to see who is donating to the clan castles. Or who even just who donated how many troops to war castles.
I'd like to offer a few thoughts...
I personally thought clan wars would offer loot into the economy, improve the fun and make it easier to find 100k+ bases... But, the clan wars as a whole is a sink for some as personally i used 20 drags and 8 rage spells and donated 200 wizards ( uncounted towards donations )... ...
Overall i spent.. 1.684m on a loss... and got 100k back.

1) That's fine that bigger payouts go to those who were able to conquer larger villages. That's not really the point of this discussion.
2) remains unaffected if there is a modest basic payout that everyone gets for _participating_. All those who worked to help the team win by engaging in a battle (win or lose) should at least get something besides ZERO.
It does not throw off the balance of the clan wars to provide all participants with a modest payout. I followed orders, checked with my clan leaders, went after a target that I thought I could take out, and I failed twice. I got NOTHING for all my effort even though my clan won.
Wishes and hopes for the future, most likely repeating what others have said, but just incase:
- Village editor should have 2-3 savespots so it would easy and quick to swap between multiplayer and warbase
- it would be good if we could decide during the prep day when to lock the warbase, if it has not been locked it would automatically lock at the end of prep day
- on the warmap players could be numbered as we at least decided to do our first attack against the fellow with the same ranking on the opposing clan, while the number can be viewed in scout/attack view it would still be easier to see it on the warmap
- it would be good for overall tactic if players could earmark opposing clan warbases and thus plan the attacks
- currently the prep day is bit long, but there is a natural reason for this. However it could be done that clans would be in prep mode always. Then when a war was declered it would move to war day right away.
- a donations log similar to the war log would be a nice addition to prep day as now clans have questionable donations going on without anyway to see who has been acting idiotic
I'll be the squeeky wheel and say that matchmaking still takes quite a while.
Started a search this morning for a 40 vs 40 fight... 3 hours later and we are still searching. First one took over 15 hours to find, i'm hoping this is not a repeat of that.
This is really driving me crazy now, everyone in my clan is leaving because we cannot find a match and therefore cannot take part in clan wars. Usually we wait around 6 hours in the queue before canceling and starting a new one, but its been about 3 days now, and nothing has worked. This NEEDS to be fixed

but thier th and wallas and heroes are around 40 lvl + the walls are blue damn...

there should be some option for accept or denied the war for other clan.
+ pair of player vs player must be auto in war. bcoz low ranked cant defend high troops.

Here's a funny side to our first war: We were pitted against an all chinese clan, figuring out who was talking about whom was quite an obstacle as their names were all in chinese characters....without numbering I kept miss-counting.
I agree with all the other points in glaciesvir's post, but this one has popped up the least previously so I'm highlighting this one.

Clan wars is AWESOME! My clan Epic Championz won its first war within 3 days after the update!
Again, another stupid matchup.. We ranked in the world 1472... Them 38 in the world.. Our trophys 23445 theirs 34389... Diff of 10,944 trophys? How's that fair? This is getting old fast
In war battle, clan castle should be what was donated during prep. Kinda stupid that you have to donate twice to castles and not be able to use one if them.
Not only do you have to fill two castles, one doesn't count towards donations. Kinda stupid.
there is no way of knowing who donated what. anyone angry on anyone can intentially donate wrong. there should b a way to know who donnated the troops. in clans sometimes we have to refuse ranks or make players donate. so you gave them a way of releasing their anger. totally undermine the system of control from leaders and co leaders.

Our clan just got finished with our first Clan War, theopposing clan was PARADISEofHELL.
Just a couple of suggestions that might make Clan Wars a bitmore enjoyable for everyone . . .
First - After the end of the war, it would have been nice tosend the other leader a short e-mail of congratulations. They won, I would've liked to tell him/hercongrats in the interest of good sportsmanship. Yes you run the risk of someonesending trash talk, but make it clear that trash talk can be reported toSupercell if it occurs.
Second - Perhaps make it to where you can ONLY attack atyour level (or maybe one level below at the most) or any level above your own. We had issue with the fact that almost every one ofthe attacks by the other clan were against our lowest players with the exception of their Leader & Co-Leader who attacked at an appropriate level. Naturally, they would 3 star every one oftheir attacks. Making it to where you mustattack someone at your level would make the game more interesting since noteveryone would 3 star an attack on a base at or abovetheir level therefore leveling the playing field just a bit more. We changed our strategy mid-war to start attacking well below our capabilities in order to 3 star every battle. Too little too late!
Third - if there are no equals for the lower players duringmatch making, make them spectators. Thiswould give lower players some incentive to improve so they can participate inClan Wars too. But this would also makethe lowest of the players untouchable by higher players (in order to 3 star) asthe game is set up now where anyone can attack anyone.
Fourth - Perhaps make it possible for the Clan Leader tochose spectators within the clan prior to running matchmaking (I believe this may have also been in another post) so that if theclan is made up of 30 players, but there are only 18 that are truly activeeveryday, the Clan Leader can "turn them off", per se, by markingthem as a spectator, so they are not factored in during the matchmaking. Thoseclan members would be locked out of that clan war. Our clan at the time ofmatchmaking had 30 members, about 18 of which were truly active. As a result, we had less attacks by our clanagainst the other clan because, nearly all their players were active throughoutthe war. There would have been no wayfor us to win this war. We don't want tocull our non-active players, they do show up on occasion, but they wouldunderstand being locked out of a clan war due to non-activity in the clan.
Fifth - we found the Clan Wars FAQ which helped usunderstand Clan Wars a lot better. Perhaps make a link available on preparation day that clan members couldclick on to refer to those FAQ. Or makea tutorial available for Clan Wars on your website.
Sixth - Last but not least, make it possible for a Leader or Co-Leader to communicate more frequently with their clan members. Being limited to sending 1 clan mail every 12 hours in a VERY limited format makes it nearly impossible to communicate your strategy plans completely to clan members that may not be online to discuss issues in Clan Chat at the time.
Our clan won the war but I didnt get my DE. It said my award was 306,000 gold and elixir, 150 dark elixir but when I checked my cc the de was not there. Pls fix this.
Also, I was attacked right after the war ended and some of my war bonus in my cc is gone. I didnt see anywhere in the FAQs that you would lose this money. It just said to collect it because your cc can only hold so much. Thanks for reading..

Sorry to keep bringing this up, but you don't seem to be remotely interested in fixing this bug. We are now on battle day, and are still all stuck. The only consolation is that our opponents seem to be similarly affected.
It's very disheartening reading what a great time everybody else is having and how wonderful Supercell are for fixing all the bugs so quickly. :rolleyes:

We must have a base save button for war bases and one for regular bases. Switching from war to farm takes just to much time. I could be farming walls. Instead im moving them.
But i love it. I got that edge of my seat feel as i attacked. The first was squeaky bum time. I got 5 stars time ran out at 87 %. 😕
The clan should be able to view who dropped what troops in war cc. It is causing major issues that we don't know who is causing problems and sabotaging members.
Clan Castle storage amounts need to be looked at. The storage amount for Clan Castle level 3 is 400k each/1k de which is too low. Clan Castle level 4 jumps up to 700k/2k. I just won my first war and totaled 585K/1850 of which the excess just disappeared for no other reason than my storage in the clan castle level 3. Since your base strength is determined by your offensive and defensive capabilities, the clan castle loot storage is an unnecessary variable that discourages proper play. I shouldn't be penalized for successfully attacking stronger opponents than my recommended target.
NOT showing donation history is ruining our attacks and game play , some players are doing it on purpose ..(( At least let it be shown to the leader and co-leader)) so that they can decide if this certain member should stay in the clan or leave .
It is really a BIG ISSUE if Someone keep sending us wall-breakers or goblins when what we need is defense or when we are planning to attack ..it is almost impossible to guess who it was !
I can't see any of my clan members in preparation day and we can't donate because there no towns in war maps any idea to fix this ??

Clan Wars are broken for me; the game crashes every time I try to open Clan Wars.
Is this server overload, or something else?
I totally agree with whoever suggested a ready button for all players. If everyone really is ready why not start the war sooner? We would all be able to play more wars!
Trophy system for clan wars? It's been talked about already but I was thinking why not just get rid of the old system altogether where each clanmate's trophies are calculated in some formula where the top clan just has players with the most trophies like it is now. I say create a new separate trophy system independent of individual trophies just for clan wars.
Where trophies are awarded for the number of stars earned per war and more trophies are awarded if there's a big discrepancy. For example there's a 25 vs 25 war. The first clan is able to get 50 of 75 possible stars, they're then entitled to 2/3 of the trophies. But if they really whipped the other clan they get even more than just 2/3 of the trophies. Just like in multiplayer when a lower level/TH beats a higher level/TH.
THIS leaderboard should then reset after, what every two weeks? So that the top clans have to actually wage clan wars to stay on top. Resetting every say two weeks will definitely change up who gets on top cause that clan's battle strategy will have to constantly evolve every two weeks to stay on top. I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of always seeing "Mega" & "Quantum's Web" every time I go to the top clans tab.
Thanks supercell, this is fun, that being said... Your matchmaking is way too liberal. There is no way that 13 th 10s going against a clan with 1 th 10 is fair.
1. Why I can't see the enemy troups from war map BUT I can see them if I look at their clan?
2. from map war I can't see enemy teslas BUT if some are upgrading I can see them through the enemy clan, provinding me a tip where they are located into the war map.
Those of you who are asking for a donation history for clan wars, here's Supercell's SuperSteve response regarding it posted in the sticky "Clan Wars Status Updates":
"Showing Donation History - we will not add this. It is not part of the normal clan mode and we feel it is "too hardcore" to be able to track who is donating what. See the next note though
Dump Clan Castle Troops - Yes. It will happen, hopefully next update, but no promises yet."
I agree that it's too hardcore. I mean playing the game well is one thing but having the ability to verify how many troops a clan mate is donating is too draconian for me. You should just have trust amongst all your fellow clanmates. Otherwise give the boot to anyone who seems questionable. I laughed when somebody not only suggested having a donation history they even wanted to see what troops were being donated! They wanted the ability to actually AUDIT their fellow clan members' donations! lol... And I remember reading "Maybe just for the leader and Cos" LOL!!!
i mean c'mon! What's the big deal?! You actually want to audit your members? It just doesn't contribute to a fun atmosphere in my opinion. I mean if you're the guy who donated archers instead of wizards when it was mandated by the clan leader it could just have been an honest mistake... Or you really didn't want to donate wizards. Either way there shouldn't be a way for someone inside your OWN clan to verify your donation.
I'm in a casual playing clan with my friends (we haven't even trophy pushed once) so I obviously don't take this game as seriously as some of you, but remember this game is about having fun... And it's not fun having someone check up on you.
I vote NO to any donation history feature for clan wars.
My clan was matched up with this really difficult clan with 18,900 trophies. We've got 17,500 and we're trophy pushing! We have exactly half as many over level 60s as they do. They've got around 10 level 80+ guys, we've got five. I already know we're gonna lose.
I really don't mind a 10 hour wait for finding a clan if we can get matched with some clan our own level.

Have a good day. Please release an update so our clan won't have a completely wasted period of war. We're literally considering all attacking the highest rank farmer to get the highest loot possible since we're going to lose anyway.
The search time for clan wars and not being able to see what someone has in their clan castle on the enemy clan or a person in general is annoying other than that great update challenges those who have played the game for more experienced players
Haha you're obviously no leader, co-leader, or loyal elder. When someone is screwing around in a clan, a high rank's first instinct is to kick them so they don't cause pain to others.
Hope you learn more when you become a leader in the future.

I'm not sure, experience is that much of an index here. Players who donate a lot will naturally have more experience than those who do not.
It helps to go through the opposing team bottom up. I felt that we would have no chnce against both match-ups we had, we outscored the other clan 2:1, and our second adversary has next to no AD worth mentioning.....
Heads up! It's not as frightening on the second glimps!

No updates will ever be a super smooth transition. They're working on it! Oh yea a little more bad news for you but each base on the opposing clan can only be attacked twice, :)
that's my understanding. So if you're all aiming for loot I guess just work down from the top.

Appart for some hicup, the clan war went well for us.. :)
I was suprised to see that some of our players that have done one star on each of their attack got the same amount of loot that the one that does three stars on the same kind of villages... (with the same displayed available loot).
Meaning that a "better" player is not rewarded for helping the clan to win... (6 stars vs 2 stars)
What do you players think of that, did you observe this behavior too ? Is it a bug ?
Why not giving, for each village, a value to a star ... village with 300k loot, 1 star you get 100k, 2 stars get 200k.... 3 you get 300k, more fairness is never bad... :)

- Having an editable War base layout, appart from the standard layout
- Heroes always available, being upgraded or not, like all defenses.
- Let the clan leader choose the eligible players for war (double sword displayed/removed when clicked, on the Clan list). Lock the Search war oponent if players count is not a multiple of 5, display an error message.
I've been linked to the theft of my game was not promising I can open my own village with science before stealing my village you link another Google account, and now enter the account is no longer the village please help me
...you could even have your weaklings snipe TH of high ranked (inactive?) opponents and yourself make the sure of the three stars by attacking those originally assigned to the weaker members of your clan...in this case you'll get less than the snipers ;-)
But then...not if your clan doesn't win.
1st what's bad about helping weaker clan members?
2nd it's a joint venture, a team effort; if one star secures the win, it's worth the loot bonus, in some cases just one star might not be enough, then you all miss out. It's fair the way it is.

Help! all member in my clan have same problem we cant see enemy map because its empty and we cant attack during war day. this is already our second war but we still have the same problem
Lol, a player do 3 stars on a village and get 300k, an other player do 1 star on the same village and get 300k ... and for you it's fair ... :confused:.
1 - I do not see what it as to do with helping weaker players ... well, just give 1000k to every player that is under the median level of the clan.... you will reply "not a good idea" and i will reply "What's bad about helping weaker clan member" ... will it help the discussion ...? I don't think it will.
2 - Your argument of the "star that secures the win" is unacceptable ... cause the player that does 3 stars has certainly more chances to secure the win than the one that does 1 star.
The solution i explained seems to solve this unfair behavior of the loot distribution, weak players will get less loot... leading them to develop a better strategy, troops.. etc.
Or you can see it an other way... double the loot for 2 stars and triple it for three stars ... you see... the weak player always got the same loot... :p
Ps : i've given more than 400 worth space of troops to help weaker players of my clan... (we're only 25).. :)
I cannot say you are wrong.. if the loot is tripled for 3 stars, there is another problem. A high level player will 3 star low level enemy to triple the loot. Well...although you can get 6 stars, but which enemy your low level player can attack? You may say if the guy doesnt follow the rule, you'll kick him.. By that time, it causes jealousy already; or even worst, your clan may lose the war.
To me, the current system is good enough :)
A win bonus is a win bonus, you win with one star, you get the win bonus. Not different to the 'normal' game...never hear anyone complaining there.
ad1) I've got this thing with envy...I don't see how you're recieving less only because someone else is getting the same or even more, they're not taking it from you, are they?
ad2) If a higher ranked player 'takes away' the chance for a lower ranked player to make two stars by three starring 'their' base...it can tip the scales and ruin your whole clans win, that is what I meant. On the other hand, weaker members will help towards an easier match-up and so have already contributed before even the first clash commences. In a clan win, they deserve to get the same, they'll have played their part (btw inactive members get zero).
PS: we're 40, I'm the strongest, I'm virtually financing our war.

I have been in two clan wars now in two clans. One, my base was attacked 3 times. The other.....we attacked a base a whopping 7 times. Is this a bug? Or are we mistaken/presumptuous about the 2 attack law?
I just want to say Clan Ward is simply AMAZING Well done supercell!!! The bugs get a little annoying but other then that AMAZING
What 2 attack law?
Each player gets 2 attacks, and they can not attack the same player twice.
But every player on your side could conceivably attack one player on the enemy side. There is no limit to how many times a base can be attacked, other than once per player.
Each clan member can make only two attacks, and cannot attack the same base twice, however, you can attack an opponent that has already been attacked by another member of your clan. This is how quite a number of attacks can be launched against the same war base... they will have to come from different players though.
Take note, that once a base has been three-starred it cannot be attacked again, or this would at least be useless.
Also note, that two-starring a base that has been attacked earlier with also two stars will not add to your overal score, only additional stars will.

How about awarding a star for a successful defense? Maybe even weight it. If a strong player attacks a weaker player and gets shut out for 0 stars the defender should get stars or at least loot. Just a thought.
