I think each player should have the ability to mark or assign their two prospective attacks to the enemy clan. This way, people could decide who they wanted to attack and it would be easily visible for clanmates to see who's attacking who.

Oh! +1
Our clan tried several ways of sharing a doc, even google drive. Not very easy to coordinate with 50 anonymous people. ended up resorting to a glassboard status post--which is ill suited for that at best. :) This is a simple and elegant solution to that issue!
Curious as to what, if anything they will do about this. That is a pretty big advantage if the bases were originally matched up pretty evenly. This will also be an issue when going up against gemmers who will start war then gem up their defences after matchmaking. Should be interesting.
THIS
...is one of the best recommendations I've heard so far. Agree with everything. May I add -
4.a - Show clearly on the enemy map which bases have been locked, so we don't waste our time scouting bases / recommending bases for clannies which are still due to change...
6. - Implement a system like a communal donation camp, infinite or very large in capacity (opportunity for shiny new graphic, preferably positioned front & centre on the friendly war map) into which we can donate, and the recipient can pick what they want from inside. Remaining troops would expire when the countdown reaches 0. Ideally this would be the way to go in the single player game as well (unused troops would expire after X days).
I tried to search for this and couldn't find a similar topic, but apologies if it has been brought up before.
During the preparation phase for a clan war, donates made don't count towards the 'friend in need' achievement, or the donate tally that shows up in the clan and league screens. Is this meant to happen? Or should there be a seperate achievement for this in clan wars in the future?
Sorry, this is the *best* possible way to deal with that "issue". Look at a tower that's being initially built. it's referred to as "lvl 1 ____". So in the game logic, the level before level 1 is ... level 1.
Would you rather have a hole in your war base when you build your first one?
