Matchmaking is ridiculous - miserable even
War Logs:
I will start by listing the outcome to all the wars I've been at least privy to watch the replays from even if I wasn't part of it for two clans to illustrate what I mean.
Crimson Sky:
War #1 - Even match even though their top 3 players were way stronger than our top 3 it was still a close match.
War #2 - Clan was 100x weaker than us. Boring
War #3 - Clan was 10x weaker than us and completely inactive. REALLY boring
War #4 - Clan was 50x weaker than us. Boring
War #5 - Clan was 20x stronger than us, it was embarrassing.
Golden Sky:
War #1 - Matched against sister clan, they won by a bit.
War #2 - About the same as #1.
War #3 - Very even, still a loss
War #4 - Crushed
War #5 - Farming/chil clan paired with a Top50 clan, loss of 27 to 78...
War #6 - Game Glitched and noone could attack, ended 0 to 0. Waste of two days.
War #7 - Paired with a Top clan with several people with maxed heroes, one townhall 9 and a lot of champions. We have no maxed heroes, ten townhall 9s, and 3 Champion players. Prospects are bleak, almost depressing.
The issue with heroes
Heroes seem to carry ALMOST NO VALUE in the way you are weighting players. Heroes are EVERYTHING, they are more important than defenses, they are more important than walls. A player with level 40 heroes will never miss a 2 star on anything under a full maxed townhall 10 and never miss a 3 star on a Townhall 9 or below unless they run out of time. A clan where 5 players have level 40 heroes going against a clan where none have heroes above 30 or worse yet above 20 will always win if the defenses on the bases are evenly matched provided their clan does not have the worst attackers imaginable.
The problem with the Townhall 10 jump
Townhall 10 defenses, primarily the infernos but also the extra xbow, puts that player(even if they have weak everything else) above all townhall 9s in defensive strength. Crimson Sky has 17 Townhall 9's and was paired against a clan with one Townhall 9. It was a loss from the start. Townhall 9's without freeze or without GoWiPe cannot possible get a two star on any decently designed Townhall 10 even if the Townhall 10 has level 7 walls and level 8 or 9 defense towers. Even if the inferno towers are level 1! Townhall 10 is WAY undervalued in Clan Wars. Their defenses will often wreck 95% of the armies Townhall 9s throw at them and with 17 v 1 the clan with 1 townhall 9 has 16 better off players right at the BOTTOM of their clan, not even at the top. The mismatch starts all the way at the 49th player!
Offense vs. Defense
Just as in Champion's League, Clan Wars comes down to offense more than defense. Sure if you have a strong base you can defend or even deter anyone from attacking you but it's all about YOUR players going out and getting the stars, since any base can be 2 starred by maxed troops, you just have to use the right army.
This harkens back to the issue with heroes. Anyone with high level heroes automatically gets a massive amount of stars. If a clan doesn't have access to them but is places against a clan with much higher heroes they will have a very very high chance of losing the war.
In Clan Wars, if I took a rough guess, I would say the attack/defense importance is:
20% defense
80% attack
But it seems clans are weighted 90-95% on their defense alone. Not the level of their troops or heroes.
It's clear heroes mean almost nothing to the weighting algorithm. I was ranked #2 in my Clan with a level 30 king and level 38 queen and more than half level 11 walls while the person above me had half level 10 walls or less, and level 20-25 heroes. The thing that put him above me?: He had 4 cannons and 7 archers towers ONE level higher than mine. I don't think I've ever had an attack come down to the cannons and archer towers. This showed that my heroes(and walls) we're valued at ALMOST NOTHING. My heroes can trash a maxed base but they were worth something like 3%(or less) of my total base appraisal.
Further evidence of improper matchmaking:
Dark Sky(a farming clan) has just been paired with MegaRisingStar, not Megacity or Megacity2, no the one with all fully maxed bases and 40,000 points. Dark Sky is great but they have 3 players with maxed heroes and no players with level 11 walls and they have been paired with a clan that has ONLY maxed heroes and about 30 players with level 11 walls. How is this remotely even?!?
I may be boycotting clan wars until it is fair for everyone.

The bonus loot is way too low !!! Furthermore, I'm too busy (in real life) to be worrying everyday about another darn war. Preparation... Battle ... Preparation ... Battle ... ugh ... it's way too much.
I think it should be restricted to only once per month ... like to start on the 10th day of the month - and that's it. Lastly, I think the bonus loot should be like $1,500,000 elixir and $1,500,000 gold.

So find a clan that doesn't want to go to war every 48 hours. My clan loves going to war. If someone doesn't want to participate, they leave the clan, we declare war, and then they come back. I agree loot bonuses should be higher, but if you're taking down the big dogs, you should be getting 6-800k for a clan win. Bottom line, if your gaming interferes with your real life, you have a problem.
