I found it to be a fantastic experience. It was great to develop strategies in clan chat during a war. It has really brought the game back to life for many people. It may be buggy but no one can really blame SC.

I like the clan wars very much, think they are great adition to the game and bring in new exitement.
What i don't like is that as is now, basickly you have to choose between eigther playing war OR playing the normal game..
So what i suguest is to seperate them (the army making for them), so actually you do not have to choose if you want war, and loosecout on real game.. Or want real game and loose out on war.. But actually the posibility to play more of both.
I just typed a response to a couple of others. I see what you're saying, yeah there could be a way of separating the two. But I guess Supercell wants to make the war village And its troops have an impact on the game so you will actually care about CW.
Separating them could solve it! And allow us to play more even. Like once the screenshot of the base is taken to be the war village when the war starts why not take a screenshot of the army/spells too. Then after the first attack the army & spells is instantly replenished for the second attack. The "war army" in this case is like the war base. Can't change either one and we shouldn't be able to until the war is finished.
Meanwhile we get to play with our regular army!
People that are kicked or leave should be replaced by active clan members previously not eligible due to number of players. We had 42 clan members so when war started our bottom two players couldn't participate. Then two players left and one was kicked. Our bottom two still could not participate. Also there should be a way to tell who your recommended target is before battle day. We have tried matching up our map positions but it's off each time. We have had two wars and are 1-1.
So far I must say that Clan Wars is fantastic. I could tell that Supercell put a great amount of time into this project and it most certainly shows. I love how it works and I also love the loot bonus, but i have a couple of complaints/requests. Honestly if these handful of bugs are fixed I believe Clan Wars will be the best thing ever.
1. Multiple Base Layouts - I know this is highly requested and is probably going to be in the net update anyway, but it is really annoying to having to keep switching bases.
2. Clan Voting - It appears as though ours wars just seem to start on themselves. I know that this is not the case and someone has to start them, but there is no way to know. I wish there was someway a Leader or Co-Leader could send a request to go to war, and then it had to get so many "yes votes" from the other members to be sent out.
3. Locking Players In - It doesn't seem fair that if someone is in your clan when the war starts, they are able to leave. They may be penalized because they are no longer able to participate until the current war is over, but this also hurts the clan itself. I think that once you are in the war, you should have to stay until it is over.
4. Tie Breaker - This may be a rare occurrence, but in my second war, we had a tie. This doesn't really seem fair to either clan for putting in so much work. There should be some way to settle it. The best way I could come up with is the rest of the clan votes on 3 or 5 people, for example, to fight the others from the other clan. Whoever gets the most stars against each other wins. It could also just be the top 3 or 5, again example, but they aren't always active so thats why I think voting is better.
5. War Chat - This last one is just an idea. I think it would be neat to have a chat where both clans could talk each other. We could have some nice, clean trash talk, which would be censored of course, with our enemies. It would only be for the two days of the war, but it would be neat to be able to actually be able to tell someone you were going to wreck their base and actually be able to back it up, not just say it.
Donations made in the war screen don't count towards your clan donations.
You could please one person some of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time.
my clan had lots of fun during our war which we won, we're doing it ,in a weekly basis for now, I figure eventually it'll be less often but so far we are loving it.
That's an intersting point...having a fixed army set up...but thinking about it...maybe not so good. I really enjoy planning my cw-attack on the enemy. It's what would be fun on normal game revenge, IF it were not always so that the player you want to revenge is either online or has a shield i.e. the base is not accessable...or worse: the base is open to an attack, but my army isn't ready...and by the time it is, there's a shield up.
That's one of the reasons I'm really enjoying clan wars, because now you can!
It's great to think an attack through with more than 30 seconds at hand to do so, to plan the army set up you believe is best for this one attack and to make it count. Sometimes it will fail, and sometimes you pull it off, troops working together like clockwork...a grandly smug feeling!
Concerning loot: clan Wars is a side show, it's not supposed to replace the game play we have come to know and love, it's an addition. Naturally farming in the usual way will bring you more incoming resources. fine. stay with that, then. CW adds a more strategical aspect to coc, something it was a bit lacking for the reasons mentioned above.
