I think you will see more people using a Hybrid base design so they can easily switch back and forth. In my clan I think Wars will weed out the active players from the inactive. This will make clan small in short run but better for long term. I also like the added style of game play.
Clan wars will effect the game, but not as much as your saying....
clan an wars is optional your clan does not have to compete in clan wars, clan wars is just for clans what like to be competitive and have fun. I will compete in clan wars and still farm :p

I had been on a three week hiatus from the game due to a lack of raids to support my town hall 9. But I came back when I heard the news and have never been happier with the game then now. Well done SC on a great effort for this historic update! (Some have been waiting for two years lol)
I think it is quite possible that clan wars may become an alternative means of farming. I think another result of the wars may be related to clan make-up. There may be an advantage to having members who are similar in strength and can donate similar strength troops. Perhaps there will be an advantage to great disparity between member strength for match making purposes. I think we will have to wait and see.
I believ that clans now need members with a similar activity level or at least the same days where they play coc.
if half of the clan plays during the week and chills on the weekend, the other half only plays on the weekend and doesn#t play during the week, it's gonna be a problem for clanwars.
