Not air defense  also, if you have a boxed in defense, extend it one by four and place your spring traps there, or do a little path as they will go that way. And place traps on the path.

What th level are you at?I have a base that takes 12 giants only with spring traps 80% of the times they go through my first wall.
Sorry didnt see your post
Offense n defense tactics, LVl6 giants raged vs TH9 city... interesting... let's see how this thread developes.. sorry, why dont we add in e Bking as platoon commander 4 e lvl6 giants... n some medics as well :o
It sounds offensive but it is one of the most succesful funneling formations I have seen. It is designed for th7, but it can be adapted. The formation is called the swastika formation. It has for main alleys which lead to the center, which in my case was the town hall (I wasn't farming at the time). The big idea is that you want to keep it as symmetrical as humanly possible. You want the four main storages closest to the center and then mortars, wizards, and so on. I will try and post a picture of one if I can so you can see how it works. Depending on where the giants break through, the defenses will adjust. Usually they will break in where the walls meet in the corner. This does not give any advantages because in my formation, teslas were in opposite corners and giant bombs and spring traps were the other two. As they break through, the teslas will pop up and the mortars will also activate. The giants die very quickly. With this formation, I only lost once because the funneling won over the giants and the defenses stayed intact.

this formation does NOT work vs giants, i have lv6 giants and it is one of the absolute easiest to break with lv6 giants, it is also probably the most common lay out i see, i hit it everytime, idc if there are resources or not, i simply hit it because its a lame design and everyone seems obsessed with it...
Breaking it is easy
1. the cc is lurable on 1 side.. always, drop 1 barb to test if its loaded on the outside spiral where a collector or barracks is, if its loaded drop 1 giant to draw them all out .. lure kill
2. the side opposite of the Royal is the week side, usually i see an air defense on this side, - 6 wall breakers (Bomb) needed for this, - drop about 3-5 barbs on the outside buildings to distract the defense fire to them, send in sets of 2 bombs to take out the walls, after the 1st set drop ur load of giants, they go right in, bypassing the springtraps and giant bombs at the mouth.
3.drop ur second set of bombs this will target the inside wall, usually there is a air defense behind this, it is crucial u blow up this wall before or while ur giants kill the inside defense or else they will exit the mouth of the spiral where the traps are, - if done properly they go right for the air defense once the inner wall clears,
4. drop ur 3rd set of 2 wall breakers, once the airdefense is gone, drop a healer behind it to extend how far your giants go. they will cut a path right thru the center where the 3 mortors are around the TH,
5. while this is going on, start sending barb on the side of the Royal, follow them with a small archer rush to draw the Royal away from the center, so he stays off your giants, and your barbs and archers knock them out
6. start dropping barbs around the mouths of the spirals in groups of 2-3 archers behind them, - they will eliminiate the buildings around the mouth then enter the mouth and set off the traps on only 1-3 barbs..
7.. surround the rest of the structure with a archer rush from each side, check ur corners,
8. sit back and watch at least, 2, but usually 3 stars. and get all the resources if there are any....
...
i do this with 19-21 lv6 giants, 30 lv5 barbs, 6 wall breakers, 1 healer, sometimes 3-6 wizards, otherwise all rest archers - usually 40-59 from a 200 wave, depending on how many giants i have and if i have a couple wizards of all archers.
If u can get into the interior quickly and drop a healer, u can do this without even using a heal spell, surrounding the layout usually helps take out the air defense before it crashes your healer, otherwise drop a heal spell or 2 on ur giants as needed.
that defense sucks, great for beating off archer rushes because of the centralized splash damage, but defense vs giants? maybe if the guy attacking you started yesterday, because anyone who has been around a little while (and ive only been playing 3 months now) has seen this design hundreds, maybe thousands of times now, because SOOO MANY run it- prolly like me alot break it just to show the owner how easy it is.
