More democratic clans: Should we be able to vote to demote a bad leader?

I was readind the "Clan mail cool down" thread, and a moderator said:

Come to think of it...

What happens when you are in a good clan, you get along with your clan mates, but you have a bad leader? Maybe the leader is a dictator, or rude, or doesn't know who to run a clan, or he's never online...


Shouldn't we be able to vote to demote a bad leader? If 90% of the clan members vote, the leader is automatically demoted and the best ranked player is promoted to leadership (same way if a leader leaves the clan) (90% to prevent abuse)


This probably will never happen because it requires a lot of coding and there's more important thing to fix, but it would be an interesting debate! (So please don't move to ideas/suggestions)

I honestly like this idea. My clans leader is only online during the weekends for like 1 hour so we really don't see him much but fortunately I see him in real life. This would be a good idea but if like it's just two people and one person wanted to be leader who wasn't he could just vote and make himself leader.

This would be a cool addition, they'd have to play around with it though and find a way to make it work

I would like this idea but there better be a system on promoting a new leader:cool: This would be really annoying for clans like Ex Elysium that love to pass leader though. There will always be people that set up pranks to force the leader to give up his power anyways..............

I like it but what about a minimum of members to vote? Helps prevents mutiny

Hahaha, this is really cool. However, it will be difficult for supercell to make this work. There are multiple scenarios in which this mutiny feature could turn out wrong. In all, this is a great, fun idea that i hope supercell finds a way to put into the game. :)

Are u kidding me! IMO this is the worst idea I have ever heard. if you are a leader of a good clan then u are a good leader. being a leader is not easy, and you want to let people kick the leader. ♥♥♥♥ worst idea ever. Hope this is a joke.

If the leader is that horrible just make a new clan and have the other clan members follow.

I know we have a couple trolls ho would demote the leader for fun. Or if you get mike (;) with his 20 accounts to go on and force leader... :P Don't like your leader, just leave

Im sorry, but I don't agree at all. It is the leaders clan, and he spent the time to make it and build up like I did my clan, and even if he is bad he cant have what he worked for stripped away from him. And if you dont like the leader, then leave.

Absolutely not. There have been a fair amount of threads with this lately, but it is one of the most wild- brained ideas that I've ever heard of. It doesn't matter if there's a 'revolt' cooldown- once it happens the first time, it'll happen again and again.

Clans are based on a dictatorial system of government, and there's a reason for that. With clan wars fact approaching, the LAST thing that this game needs is clans to be ripped apart because members keep on throwing out the current leader. If you don't like the leader of your clan, leave the clan or create a new clan. Te likelyhood of you lasting as clan leader for any amount of time after taking over the clan is MINIMAL: Another member after another will want their turn as leader and will overthrow you. If I saw anyone in the clan talk about overthrowing me I would kick them immediately. If you think that this would make clans better I urge you to think again: This is the last thing that we need. Clans need to be brought closer together, not ripped apart from the inside out, and yeah, that's what would happen.

You need to post in the right subforum to begin with: Posting things in general just to get them seen is the wrong way to go and can be considered SPAM.

What if you have around 6 or 7 smartphones with different CoC accounts??? Every clan with around 15 players will be doomed. Kicked out by the New Leader. (Who is spoilt and owns all these Devices)

This. Take all the good players and start fresh. Problem solved.

I like the idea but, how about we add on an election after. I agree about the 90 % after that you said top ranked player will become leader. I think their is a better solution, After you eliminate the leader from being leader you then have to vote for any coleader to become leader, if their isn't any coleders then elders, no elder members you get the point. Because of the best player gets control what the point. Let me tell you what would happen, a really good player would go to a bad clan, and say hey I am going to leave unless you demote the leader and give me leader, and some people will do the vote and give him control, but with this you eliminate a leader and then pick a new one, real democracy this would make this idea perfect if you add it.

No your wrong, its first a 90 percent member so first everybody must hate the leader, also this wouldn't destroy the clans but would unite them, it would kill the inactive clans and cause the leader to be more active, a feature that could be added is this though you must have at least 40 people in clan to do this, that should help your concern, its a good idea and we need it. And by the way I come from a clan when me and the leader pretty much make all the decisions and even though they're more coleaders then me they know what we say go's. In are clan it works the dictator system quite nicely but that because we good leaders, some people dont, the monarchy way can work, if you have a good monarch if you don't then this is needed, so you can ensure if the monarch ain't good you can put a new one.

My clan has been together a while and even though i'm new these guys all know each other irl so it wouldn't cause any problems for us. The leader often passes leader around to others. It would be funny to see all these clans break up though. It would definitely show us who's loyal and who's not.

Ehhhh, I wouldn't like this idea very well. No offense though, its very well thought out. But the leader did make the clan for a reason, he/she didn't make it so he/she would get kicked out or demoted.

However voting for demotion of a co leader would be different, just think about it. I've been in plenty of clans with some bad co leaders!

Only let Co-Leaders or/and Elders vote to demote the leader.

Why is that? Is your leader bad? Hm? If so then leave that clan, go make clans with your members and ditch that bad leader. What is this? Why do people suggest this idea? If the leader is bad then LEAVE the clan, end of story. Leader can do whatever he wants to the clan. TERRIBLE idea, period. I usually make my clan democratic by voting for things or having their opinions for things, so that's a democratic clan for you. If the leader is bad then leave.

No way.people would just try to troll leaders and it would make being a leader harder and it already too hard

A group of friedns who are trolls good make a good troll out of this, imagine, they are with 5, they join a clan with 5 members, thye start a vote, they all vote yes, leader cant vote so it would surely be 5 vs 4 and they would be leader, kick all and go to next clan

This is a horrible idea, if the people in the clan do not like the leader then its their problem as the leader of the clan is typically appointed by the people; this just gives rights to people who have no authority in the clan to demote/kick the leader, then a new leader fills the void and the cycle repeats..

Bottom line: NO.

What's wrong with you people I understand what your saying but, its better that what we got and I do agree that if their were like 5 people they can easily get rid of leader but, that's a fix could be to only allow clans with 25 or more to do this. But some people don't want to leave because they love their clan and people and some don't want to leave and make their own, it ain't a bad idea just needs some tweaks but for some reason people on Coc forum really like just trashing ideas and not helping it, and making it better.

The fact that the leader made the clan shouldn't be brought down by a democratic solution. That is called mutiny, which is looked down upon towards the members.

I totally agree with you.

I understand the reasons why some people think it's not a good idea, but with some tweaks it could work!

• "A group of 5 trolls can demote leaders"? You need 90% of the clan votes to demote a leader.

• "A clan of just 5 people can demote a leader unfairly"? Voting is open only for clans with more than 35 members.

See? Everything has a solution!

Anyways Superraven, take in mind that I have a lot of haters ;) We have to filter the real criticism and the pure hate.

Well, you can have your 40k back when you are demoted (or 50%)

They should make it so you would vote every 2 weeks.

Dude you don't like the leader but you like the people just go ahead and come up with a name and just before you leave tell everyone the name and to look for the clan name and leave it open invitation for the first few days! If your clan mates really don't like the leader they will follow!

Someone shouldn't lose their clan because somehow the majority started not liking them. I agree with the others, if you don't like your leader, you should move on to a new clan. You are already free to take all like-minded individuals as is, so this isn't necessary, needed, or helpful.

If the leader is bad just say hey guys lets make a new clan. Thats what my clan did
