Xbows Ground Only or Both?

I am a townhall 9 with decent defences. My clan is about to trophy push and also prepare for the upcoming clan wars. While there are many controversies whether to put xbows on ground or on ground and air I have put them on ground only. I was wondering if i should change that and put the xbows on ground and air. Lately there have been many Loonian attacks. I have kind of an anti hog rider base, but my AD are not too far out. If I move them in closer would that change whether my xbows are on ground or on both? Thank you for your advice and you can give an opinion on the base too if you'd like. (:

Maybe just watch your attack log? I never really protect ADs, but I still barely get attacked by air troops. So i do ground.

I would definitely do ground & air as the way Balloonion and other air strategies have been going around, it's worth a small 3 tile difference.

Yeah i have seen lots of loonian strategies going around. I guess ill try putting my xbows on ground and air.

It would help a bit with a pic of your base but if it's a anti-hog base I would put them on ground if they doesn't cover to the defensive buildings furthest away. If they do when on Ground+Air I would put them on Ground+Air.

depends, as for me, my ad lvl 6 (not bad) and 2 are in the core. 2 are also in a great coverage, so for me i can happily put my xbows on ground.

I have my lvl 3 xbow on air / ground!

Ground Only (14 tiles range) covers 615 square tiles.
Ground & Air (11 tiles range) covers 380 square tiles.
Yea, a small 3 tiles difference. ;)
Edit: can't give a proper advice to TS, I'm just a TH 8.

First off, what league are you in? That definitely will make a difference on xbow placement! Normally, I would keep both on ground, since in gold and crystal (where most farmers are) attackers mostly use a majority of ground troops, unless they want total destruction and a quick movement through leagues (using drags n' rage, or a balloon/minion combo). But if you are in upper leagues like master or champ and sometimes high crystal one, I would set one on ground and one on air, just so you can defend against all types of attacks. -Ground and air X-bows usually divert good balloonioners
-The lower range usually doesn't matter, even with anti hog bases
