Trying out alot is my tip. I would recommend healing and/or rage spells for your giants, or maybe one lightning spell for CC troops. Bringing 15-25 goblins wouldn't be a bad idea either. First put your giants, where you think they'll make a nice path, once you've got a spot with a big range without too many splash damage defences you throw in your barbs, archers and goblins.
I would use the following attacking strategy. Kill king/Queen and helping troops; choose side with most resources to attack; drop down barbs and archers to clear outside buildings; place giants followed with bombs; put down the rest troops dispersedly. Usually I prepare 3 heals and 1 rage.
I tend to send about 20 giants, and I 10 of them on opposite sides of the base. This directs all of the fire onto the giants. Then I use 50 Barbarians and 50 Archers, and I distribute them evenly all around the base, surrounding them in a circle. I works well on TH 7 Bases, haven't tried on higher levels though.
How much do you spend on your troops when farming? And what's the minimum amount of gold/elixir/DE do you attack for? I'd want to score at least 2x the treasure that I use for troops.
I tend to do a mix of giants and hogs and it does very well. it reduces the cost of elixer and DE.... just tossing a few hogs in makes a world of difference. You don't need many either.
You can do this without a few hogs... you just have to wait until the giants hit an air defense. Hogs just make the process go faster.

I use 14 giants, 80 archers, 20 giants, 30 gobs (can be replaced with barbs if you don't like gobs), and 10 wbs. You can play around with the number of archers and barbs you use though. Then I have 2 rage, 1 heal, and 1 lightning. Strategy is to lure out cc and heroes first, but if you cant with barbs then use a giant to lure because they will go deeper into the base. Then simply pick the highest splash damage spot and attack it with giants, use a heal and/or rage if/when necessary and then drop the rest of your troops, but don't spam because even a little splash damage can be devastating to your attack. When all or most of the splash damage is gone, drop your gobs to clear out the rest of the base. Extra rage is to speed up your attack if you waste too much time luring and the lightning is to take out 25+ archers from the cc if they become overwhelming.
I use the same strategy for trophy pushing, except that the gobs are replaced with barbs and I place my archers and barbs all around the base so I don't run out of time.
This strategy is effective against all th7,8, and low level th9 (lvl 1 xbows, lvl 5/6 mortars, and lvl 5 or less wiz towers)
Just make sure you also bring some wbs :D
Thanks for the replies, I've been messing with it for most of today and have been averaging 300K of each per raid and started my queen to 5, and yeah its a lot easier with wallbreakers.
