Called walls, you'll have too little gold when you reach maxed th6. Max the town halls too, a mistake I made when going to TH8 too early.

The upgrades start to get more expensive really quickly. Trust me. Multiplayer is the only way to keep 4 builders active. Also, upgrading walls is almost impossible without multiplayer.
Thanks for the replies!
Can we talk about the Laboratory?
I'm going to start upgrading units soon and i'm wondering if i need upgrades for every unit? Didnt want to waste resources on units that wont be used later.
Thank you
Another thing to note that the higher your TH is when you start multiplayer, the harder time you are going to have gaining trophies. If you are a TH 6 facing off against TH 3 & 4s, you will get hardly any trophies from each attack. I would suggest starting ASAP in multiplayer. It's also more fun that way :)
Definitely max everything in your laboratory at lower town hall levels (below town hall 7). All of them will become useful at some point. It is from Town Hall 7 on where some people start getting more selective especially with dark elixir troops.
You will absolutely need the strongest troops possible for your town hall level to progress in the game. Very soon you will need much more gold and elixir than your mines and collectors can pump.
If you don't enjoy the raiding part you should probably just quit and try Hay Day - it is much more of a pure farm game.
As soon as you have an army camp and a barrack, you should start attacking immediately. Attacking will give you trophies and loot. Since you're only a town hall 4, you should attack especially because your gold mines/elixir collectors are probably low. If you really wanna make it to town hall 10, there's no way you're gonna achieve that wtihout attacking unless you spend like 2 years playing this game, 4 years if you're not very active. Most of your loot comes from attacking, and when you get to town hall 10 your barracks will probably be high and you will still be leagueless and be attacking other leagueless people. Also, almost no one silver 2 has dark elixir, crucial to making your army composition better with dark troops. You will need trophies to get into a higher league. In order to get trophies, attack people. If you attack, you can get to town hall 10 in about half a year if you're very active, a year if you're not.
Farming is when you put your town hall on the outside and put your storages/resource collectors in the center of your base. This way lots of people will destroy your town hall, get a few trophies and leave, ultimately making you drop into the bronze league or below until people don't have troops that are good enough to destroy your town hall in 3 minutes (lol). Then you will be pwning weak people and be getting very, very little loot and trophies.
So, the message I'm trying to give you is attack as much as possible, don't try to get to town hall 10 ASAP, and don't farm.
Troops you train will cost elixir, but as long as you attack bases with more elixir that you spent on training and steal most of it, you'll be perfectly fine. Also, let your gold mines/elixir collectors contribute to getting loot for you.
People are already attracted to your base just as much as they are attracted to any other base. Regardless of how many times you attack or who you attack, (you probably don't know this since you've never attacked before) when people attack they don't get to choose who to attack. The system just finds a person who is not currently playing, dosen't have a shield and are in your league area.
Lots of people aren't attacked in a week because they have spent all their loot and have very little left. This is normal, not special.
So to sum it all up:
- Multiplayer battles will give you gold to build and upgrade buildings
- Multiplayer battles will give you elixir to build and upgrade barracks, gold related buildings (gold storages, gold mines) troops, and spells
- Multiplayer battles will give you dark elixir (town hall 7) to buy and upgrade troops and heroes (town halls 7 and 9)
- Multiplayer battles will give you trophies to advance to higher leagues to attack people that are more suited for your troops
- People are randomly chosen to be attacked
- Without multiplayer battles, you will not get any loot from other people making your only loot source from graves and mines/collectors
- Without multiplayer battles, you will not get any trophies to advance to higher leagues so when you get a higher town hall with better troops people will be too easy to attack
- You can get achievements like Sweet Victory where if you reach 1250 trophies you get 450 gems, and Become a Champion where if you reach the crystal league, you get 250 gems, masters league, ??? gems and champions league I think 1,000 gems.
- Basically, do multiplayer battles.
If you need any more info on this or other COC related things like Clan Wars and upgraades, ask me. I hope this detailed info answers your question.
The lab is used to make your troops and spells better with more hitpoints, and damage. Here's some info:
- Barbs, archers, goblins, giants, wallbreakers, balloons, wizards, and minions (dark) all go up to lvl 6.
- Hog riders (dark) and golems (dark) go up to lvl 5.
- Healers, dragons, PEKKAs, and valkyries (dark) go up to lvl 4..
- Witches (dark) go up to lvl 2.
- Lightning and Healing spells go up to lvl 6.
- Rage and Freeze spells go up to lvl 5.
- Jump spells go up to lvl 2.
You should upgrade everything to the max your town hall allows you ASAP. That way, when you change your army composition (you will probably do it a lot) and if you use a troop you haven't used a lot, it will be maxed.
Hope this helps.
