Nile Perch advice

Well, like so many others, I really hate fishing. I rarely try to catch new fish anymore. That being said, with the current event, I'd like to try for the Nile Perch.

Thanks to Bob's awesome chart, I know to try in area 1 & 7 using either a purple or blue voucher. I've wasted 4 of each so far...

I wait for the small circle, made sure the outer ring is moving slower than normal, and tried to be patient. Regardless, the damn unknown fish always hugs the outer circle and no matter what direction I try to maneuver the line, it always snaps and I lose the fish. Just to add salt to my wounded pride, the damn Perch jumped out of the water this last time as if to glory in snubbing my attempt. *sigh*

So my farming friends, any advice?

I find it easier to keep the fish inside the circle if I sort of wiggle my finger slightly in the opposite direction of where it wants to go, instead of just steadily pulling. And I try to keep my finger fairly close to the circle too, that makes it easier to react if the fish changes direction suddenly. I've caught the perch four or five times, and it took me a while to figure out how to handle it.

from what Im aware of they can only be caught in area 9, bottom right side. They can either be caught with worm lure (red) or green lure. Wait for the smallest inner circle. It took me awile before being successful

I believe it is the catfish that you're talking about, not the Nile Perch :rolleyes:

Just caught one in area one with a blue lure. It actually moves pretty slowly from side to side with the small inner circle. I was surprised that it was the Nile Perch, as I thought it would be one of the regular fish

yes, as for event fish, this one is easier to catch. With Blue lures.

they can appear anywhere and move slowly, the lake sturgeon is like the huchen, moves fast and tries to escape, you can differentiate them with that...

Does anyone have any tips on how to catch the Red-tailed catfish? I'm not having any luck!! It is the only fish I'm missing!

use red lures and the area to the right and down. ( area 9, I believe)

just keep in mind that you will need multiple recasts, as normal non event fish will try and bite.

Is it only in section 9?

From what I can tell talking to different ones that is the only area it can be caught in
