I have a maxed everything expect my BK and walls .. few troops is not maxed as I don't use them much.

I tried to finish the walls during upgrading my collectors and mines but failed. I have done nearly half of them till now and I am kinda bored of making them. I don't know what to do. Will upgrading to th9 be a bad move? or should I do it?
I think it would be beneficial to get level 8 before TH 9. However, it won't make or break you; you could easily do well in TH 9 with level 7 walls. but i would just get it done especially if you're half done
Upgrade your townhall... Lv.7 and lv.8 walls ain't that difference.
actualy 1/4 of my walls was done only when I was fully maxed without collectors and mines .. I maxed my collectores and mines and my walls were 1/2 finished. I really got bored of it. I wonder how finishing all of them now will help?Quote:

You can still continue to do walls. but your builders.... won't be doing anything. Since your defense is max, your base will perform similarly even if it had all L7 walls. TH 9 is very important. bigger camps. a second DE pump. Archer Queen. Xbows and more! Get those builders something to build!
This is especially true since you're becoming bored. I know walls are awful. Upgrading your TH with all the new troop levels and AQ and new buildings will pique your interest again. Go for it!
If you don't do the walls and follow the advice of those that say upgrade, you will never catch up. They will always tell you to upgrade and you will be sorry that you have ♥♥♥♥ walls. At TH9 upgrades are so expensive that you won't have a chance to do walls if you try to keep your builders busy. Then you will be ready to go to TH10 with lvl 7 walls. Good luck with that. You will be a target!

4. yes, but the attack will be weaker barch/BAM/lv.5 Giant-Healer attack... when you have strong walls, the incoming attack will be those crazy hogs and bloon that will 3 star your TH8 base no matter what defence you have.
Max out ur walls first
Your logic is flawed. No one with Hogs or Balloons, or any troop setup for that matter, will skip a base they would attack with full Skull walls just because it has Pink walls. I can't believe you actually wrote that down. It is never bad to have stronger walls.Quote:

well, that's from my experience... I see more failed raid when my base is premie than when my base already developed...
I knew it's not bad to have stronger walls, especially for end-game.
If not why the hell I'm doing those painful lava now?
but... waiting for ages to get walls while having idle builders isn't worth it...
having lv.6 troops to farm easier, double xbows, 4th storage, WT, and AD is much more better than having full skull walls.

Actually when I started to max my walls after I finished maxing everything I did 10 walls the first day, 7 walls the day after and then 2 and then I didn't do any walls. Then I quit and deleted the game because there was no fun doing these walls. and I thought why I am playing this game? if I have lvl 8 walls then what? .. I will got o th9 and I want to have lvl 9 walls. and you said already that I can't finish lvl 8 walls if I went to th9 then how I will finish lvl 9 walls which will be 3 time as expensive as upgrading my lvl7 walls .. there is new 50 walls. will I spend few months again doing nothing but upgrading my walls? ... man this sucks so much .. then what? at th10 I try to get lvl 11 walls? which are kinda impossible? .. and what if I didn't get them? then those gemers will attack me and get me 3 stared ..etc? .. so I should get lvl 12 walls? .. REALLY?
I would upgrade the barb king and then upgrade your town hall because your hero ability upgrades when he gets to a level 10.
May I remind you, that the outer walls are pretty useless as they're killed by wallbreakers anyway. Only about 1/4th of the walls actually ever get attacked by troops, other than wallbreakers. So half of the walls is just fine to go to th 9.
I would upgrade them before going for TH9. Just finished walls myself;

Max out wizards then upgrade walls as TH is upgrading
I upgraded to th9 with 50 level 8 walls. Does not make a difference.

I am having the same issue to upgrade walls or to go to th9, so i was really happy to find this thread.
I can farm like 1 mill gold per day playing 2 hours at night. I usually farm in the 1200-1500 range. At this rate I will need one month to finish the purple walls and can only start my 225 walls (125 mill ) after this. Using an average 1mill/day rate it will take me 125 days (4 months) to finish th8.
Is it worth the wait??? I mean it takes me 5 months to upgrade everything!!!
And still someone comes with a lvl4 hog army and creams me like sh*t... :)
it is best policy to max at 8, but if you don't, it wont ruin your TH9 life IME..at least from where YOU are at.
As long as you have maxed troops, it wont bring you down too much. have an adjustable plan in place first. try to stick to it.
However, a maxed TH8 walls included (maybe not BK) is always a good deal for TH9, ALWAYS!!
but if you have idle builders then I say go on up... just gage how many days it will take you to get 40K Dark, so you hit that mark the day or two before you hit TH9. anything over 25K or so, starts attracting the vermin and Zappers.. but if you can get it; then you can get the AQ right away!
then get the Lab and SF going (just my opinion, others will say camps, but w/e..) for elix upgrades and spend gold on all the lvl 1 things, new walls etc.. buy the X-bow(s).. many threads on this subject.
TH9 is an adjustment with the loot penalty kinda steep. just get outta TH7 range..but its nice once you get lvl 6 troops to help pillage and raid. its a lot of fun, and with the defensive edge its makes for good def too.
Finish your walls and bk for sure! I'm glad I did at least and then also do your wizards that will help you in the long run as well.

Wall doesnt made any difference during th8 or early th9 but very important during late th9, walls are very crucial that can save 1-2 stars aganist GowiXX raids. If you havent attacked often by GowiXX, you wont realized the important of walls, for sure.
Max out everything is just an advice from the veteran players, that doesnt worked anymore with recent update in COC. Those veteran players suffers heavy loot penalty bcoz of rushed th, that happenned early this year, before COC introduced barch level 6, they are those th9 that suffers heavily farming with lv5 troops (barch), before COC introduce the lv 6 troops. Their advice become legend and remained until these days.
Clan matching system compare your defense and th with opponents defense, considered you max out defense, your opponents in clan war most likely the same defense as yours. In clan war, its most likely that a max out th8 would face th max out th8 (or a premier th9). This would give the max out th8 trouble when they ignore the war troops upgrade. Most of the players i found that, they max out their defense without upgrading their war troops (dragon, golem, pekka).
So, for your wall, i would say, you wont notice any difference, be it lv7 or lv8 or lv9, until you were raided by GowiXX.

If all you do is farm, then doesn't matter much. If you like to CW and/or want to push, then you need to upgrade your troops like wiz and pekkas. Also need to max BK or at least get him to lvl 9. Walls matter in higher leagues and in war, so again, do those if that part of the game matters to you.
