I use with a mix of Archer-heavy Barch'M to farm in Crystal 3.
3 Rax Archer, 1 Rax Barbs, up to 15-22 (22 max) Minions (Minions are reserved for when deemed necessary, the fewer the better, they house a lot of camp space).

I find that 100-110 or so lvl6 Archers (or 130 + lvl5) can 50 % a lot of bases.
to maintain trophies;
- I snip all the exposed THs w/3 archers...
- Slaughter any TH7s offering 18 + Trophies for 2 or 3 stars (hopefully the have some loot too) and typically no spells used...-
- 1-star the TH8s with decent loot or 2 star the farmers w/exposed THs. may not need spells or heros but often will use CC
- Try/test the resource-heavy TH9-10s (usually the premie ones)
These targets provide good practice for when you want to actually push to Cry 1 or higher. where you see more developed TH9-10 you need a 1-star strategy, may as well practice on the ones that don't hurt your trophy count for failing. may require spells or heros (Cry 2 is a lot of the same, but fewer TH7-8)
Infernos are a no-go unless you find a dead base..
learn to recognize the up/down X-bows the down ones have much greater range on ground troops.
this strategy is cheap to make, fast to cook, and effective once you figure out the deployment strategies.
example, I will use Minions to help take out an exposed wiz tower.. barbs first to distract/tank; backed by archers, backed by couple minions...around 5-7 of each Barch and like 3 minions..

You can do Balloonions, or use Hogs which are great too (but a bit expensive).
Or just use BARCH/BAM. I got this way to Masters.
