Very inconsistent loot

Hey all

I've never really had any problems finding loot but that changed since about a month.
Since my last week at TH8 and my first weeks as TH9 I have found it really really difficult to find any loot at all and I can't understand why...

I have been barching for ages and that worked perfect for me. I usually boosted all 4 barracks and could easily make 1.5 to 2 mil an hour and 1 starring most bases during farming (I don't like only taking the mines and losing every battle and then climb up again by sniping bases)

But since over a month (pretty much around the time I decided to upgrade to TH9) I can hardly find any loot anymore. For your information: I was a completely maxxed TH8 when I decided to upgrade.

Now, I still use barch, with 4 boosted barracks but most of the time I barely make 0.5 to 1 mil an hour anymore. I have to next about 200 times till I get a juicy collector raid and most of the bases I get, offer me only 30 to 50k...

And sometimes I get 2 300K loot bases in 5 minutes and then for 2 hours nothing at all. It drives me crazy.

I have been in Crystal III and the different Gold leagues but loot just sucks for me. My clan mates mostly farm in the gold leagues too and loot is sweet for them. I do the same things but I don't get anything. This is really really frustrating for me and honestly, the game has just not been fun for me anymore the past couple of weeks..

Anyone with tips or advice? Would be greatly appreciated !

Can't really pinpoint the cause here. If you are at TH9 and around 2000 trophies, you should have good loots. It could be that you are raiding at a different time now. You can also try Crystal 2 and 1 but be sure to leave TH outside, there's some crazy good attacks starting around 2400.

It can be a roller coaster just strap in and enjoy the ride. There isn't a permanent sweet spot just have to chase it where it goes. If other clanmates are having good luck watch replays and study. May just be a troop combo or a tweak to your strategy is what it takes. I resisted for a while but watched loot increase dramatically including a little bit of others style.

It has been up and down for me as well. I'm not TH9 yet, but after this update there has been really nothing. I feel like people are dumping resource boosted gold into walls.

It's not really a matter of combo imo. My clanmates mostly use BAM or BARCH as well.
Problem is I don't find collector raids at all and only few storage raids (with very strong bases I would need a max army + spells to raid it, which I don't want to).

You can't be bothered to train an army?.. Well, poor you :)

Its been up and down for me also, but really everyday is like that. Ive found some good collector bases today though

Hahaha, it's time to learn how to raid storages and not just collectors ! I think you will have a hard time in CW if you don't even know how to raid to the core of a town properly. And I can't understand why people are so stuck to BARCH when you can train other farming armies which take maybe 7 more min but are way more efficient.

Loot is awful maybe because inactive players started logging in again due to Clan War hype.

I'd suggest 1650 range. I am there atm and farming nicely :P

though i will agree about you said about inconsistent loot.

Haha...similar sentiments occurred to me as well. ;)

Yes, in clash of clans you might have to actually attack people every once in a while to get your loot.

Yeah i usually use giants healer with archers and minions,its much more versatile than just relying on getting a lucky inactive. I can crack storages much more efficiently

Just pointing out the fact that you're complaining about lack of collector raids.. Then adapt to the scenario.. train that extra 30k Elixir army and get that phat lewt! :D

What you need to take collector raids is 6-10 giants and about 50 archers. That's it. Why don't you add healers ? You can wipe out strong bases with xbows if they have good loot, or just send giants archer for collectors if the loot is in. It just take 10-12 min for them and around 25-27 if you spend your whole army. You can't complain about loot if you expect to take it only in juicy collector raids or easy towns. Saying you can't find easy loot is more appropriate.

it's not only about the collector raids he is talking about. there is hardly any decent storage raid available because people dump their gold into walls. I do that all the time.

And BARCH can easily penetrate core. i have been using giants gobs archers and wb combo for long.

Edit: Who cares for the elixir. it's time that matters. I have kept elixir storages outside and yet i am always watching it go waste all the time because of maxed storages.

It depends on your perspective and circumstances....it can be very time efficient to raid storages if you play at your desk while doing something on the computer and just put the ipad to your side while the army trains.

This is what I do and loot per hour is entirely meaningless as you're really looking at loot per minute of user input (ie. minutes of actual gameplay). The loot per minute of user input for the high gold per hour style play isn't even necessarily all that great as a lot of people are holding the ipad and doing something or another on clash for the entire hour.

Efficiency in relation to time is actually quite nuanced.

I don't have time during the day to play so I play session of 3 to 4 hours straight at the evening.
That's why I need a high gold/hour rate.

I used giant-healer strategy in before but the bases I'm offered have either no loot or are maxxed TH8's or strong TH9's and higher so using giant/healer and not being able to take all their loot is just not efficient.

I don't mind doing Gowipes all day as I time my raids...

Training the army takes about 1hour,15 minutes, but for the spells to finish, 3-4 hours.. And I don't mind..
I have a job, wife and two kids, so 3-4 hours inbetween my raids is perfect for me.

I'm currently seated at 2660 cups and I have been attacked only 4 times in the past 50 hours of which I won 3 defenses.

Sometimes if I have the time for quicker raids I do Hogs + wiz+archers, but that's exeptional ^^

Loot in my time zone is garbage at night now, it started about a month ago for me too. It used to be the best time to raid, now I have to raid around 2pm to find good loot. Just try different times of the day. That's the only fix I've found. Good luck!

Under those circumstances I would agree with your metrics. The danger of the light army is that its generally oriented towards the exterior of bases or relegated to attacking the core of weaker bases which means you can get stuck in matchmaking hell.

For me, the great enemy is spending too much time fiddling with the ipad while I'm trying to do something else, so its basically the opposite context. I usually don't care how long clash is open i just care about how much attention I'm giving it; as long as I'm giving it limited attention efficiency is good as I'm balanced with real life.

The last 2 days I have found ridiculously large loots.

Im used to taking 150/200k in gold from storage per raid but I have had 4 or 5 500K + gold from abandonded bases. Up until 2 days ago I was lucky if I saw one of those every 2 weeks.

Maybe just luck but it does seem very good

barching can be quite lucrative and fun, collector or storage, the return is usually high. However, I agree that it can be inconsistent at times. It seems the inactives shift from different trophy range within a week cycle.

My method of finding the right range for barching in a week period is like this;

I do a sampling of the kind of villages in my trophy range. Made 5 raids, each was done using 20 consecutive searches. If I found at least 2 maxed/ near maxed TH 8/9/10 villages with full storages within those searches for at least 3 raids, that meant the range has been barched to dry by everyone else. Thus I up / down my own league and did the sampling again, until I found less than 2 villages with full storages within 20 searches for at least 2 raids. That would become my spot for that week.

Explains why I did 7 level 9 walls yesterday. All my clan has been finding great loot. Get out of 1000 and push to different ranges.. Stupid loot threads everywhere, I didn't even take the time to read the thing

I thought i was just lucky finding loot today, looks like they make some changes in the maintenance?

Well, some of us don't have a life and it does matter:p

Seriously, loot is a roller coaster. Wait till you get to TH10, then it's even worse. Even storage raids are few and far in between. If you want enough resources BAM or Barch is the most cost effective army out there. Also the risk of not getting your investment back is rather small. Last but not least it doesn't require a lot of spells.

Loot has been awesome today. I've gotten like 12 collector raids 200k + each in 2 hours. Amazing. I'm a TH9 btw.
