New form of attack that should work with ANY maxed base - roughly half the gem cost

Hi,

(i'm posting this here as it is a new strategy but if the mods think it should be in creativity please do move it)

This is something that Jesseebraer has been working on I thought i'd share it with you to see what you think.

This is a non PEKKA or Dragon attack that is pretty much guaranteed to two star ANY base no matter how high level the defences. It involves two heal and two rage. lots of wizards lots of wall breakers and a LOT of focus on one area. As you can see he uses this to drill right to the middle quite effectively.

This would mean for high cup players that the cost per attack would be a LOT lower as they don't need to gem such high level troops.

Looks good. Was the base maxed? Does it work as efficient on bases with their town halls in middle? Also, horrible use of wallbreakers :p

Good point the walls in this case were only lvl 9 but I was chatting with Jess in the last few hours and this has consistently worked several times with any base - Jess is number 39 worldwide currently so he is only likely to see the top 50 or so players.

I hear you on the wb efficiency - but overall this attack saves a ton of gems for these guys so I think it's a small price to pay.

lol. 45 wall breakers used for a job that requires only 7(2+2+3) wall breakers :p

Wiz + tanker is a great offense, except that the tanker is now a cheaper giant instead of a pekka.

EDIT: The additional 20 wall breaker could be better use when you deployed the giants + BK, could have helped you break into the inner core already.

nice vid, but the point is every battle you need to tell your clan mate to donate Wbs and that is the mess for them ;) ,when they always use archers for donation!

Troops cost is 272k elix and spells cost 146k. Not bad at all considering 11 lvl3 dragons cost 440k.

I agree, wb sacrifice may be reduced to half. Very interesting and effective video. Not for me though, with lvl4 bk and lvl1 AQ, i better farm for like eternity. Thanks for sharing

Terrible use of WBers and he's using lvl 30 heroes....

Thank you - i was lazy and didn't do the maths :) I guess it's more like 30-40% cheaper as you still need the spells

... thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed it. On our clans recent trophy hunt I discovered the effectiveness of Wizards for the first time and was using them with Giants (though mine are only Lv5). I did ok, but started losing at around 2200 cups (I'm TH8 by the way). I now realise the healing spells were the thing that was missing - very effective!

Re the use of wallbreakers - yes, on lower bases you can punch through with 4-8. But I imagine it's quite different at that trophy range!

very refreshing vid! nice to see higher levels think instead of just dropping all dragons and/or pekkas. keep it up hope you master the technique and that it doesnt change too much after the update! also to the recorders credit i can imagine how hard it would be to hold camera while deploying troops...

And yes spot on about the wb - the tactic is they are decoys to trigger the defensive AI so he can archer the defenders without his archers being distracted

People get fixated on the first unusual thing they notice :rolleyes:

If this catches on as a popular method it will likely cause players to emphasize their mortars a more in their defenses, I'd imagine.

Additionally giant bombs could be rather effective against this composition as well.

I can't remember the order for deployment for CC, but 1 giant might help if it deploys first (or just drop one of your own) depending on the wall layout. But like I said, goal is really activation of the clan castle guys and not destruction of walls. that is a nice, secondary benefit.

I just tried a variation of this at 2100 - 3 starred a base for the first time in a while at this range. I deployed everything i had... at the end i had several giants and Wizards left wandering around.. so with a bit of further tweaking this may well be my new tactic for a while whilst chasing trophies anyway.

I adjusted it to fit myself and it worked like a charm. Build time is a bit heavy but compared to Pekka and Dragons the Elix costs are much more palletable...

Nice Daddy i was at the point of just waiting on Defences until monday.. This has given me something new to try and im smiling again.

EDIT: By the way Jess is watching this thread, he will come on once he has made a better video to show, he mentioned the wb are used to check the path for traps and bombs because the troops he is using are susceptible to those defences

I was talking about this with a friend... wouldn't work for a few reasons.

1) Air defense
2) Wiz have relatively low HP
3) Wiz spread out too much

Would it be worth 5 wizards? Perhaps. I think it is unlikely, however.

Ive stopped using Healer up here at 2k plus... the loss of one to the Seeking Air Mines really screws you over (Healer needs an uplift but that is another thread entirely).. They are fairly redundant up here.. so the new Flying minions are totally not going to be with the investment if you ever hunt trophies.. think during farming they may be useful.

Yeah haha, I have a 30 Lv4 Wiz, 1 healer, 1 dragon, 2 giant epic fail combo in my replay..

But just throwing this combo out here in case someone manage to make it work haha.

But yeah, 2k+ trophy base usually have well protected air def and S.A.M. So healing spells are a must.

Skip to 2:36 for the mass wizard attack.

The wizards were still doing well against 3 mortar strikes. But when the Air def took down the healer, it was gg from there haha.
