The best times for me that I can usually find easy raids without dropping 50k gold is at night. I run on central U.S time so I can usually catch most of Europe sleeping and a good portion of my country signed off. Just last night in about a 3 hour window I netted about 1m of each resource using bam. No the best but my average raid was around 250k each. I also wasn't going right away when I got my troop notification.

You should look for a time interval where most people are active, so that your chances of running into an abandoned base are increased.
Shouldn't you be looking when most people are not active, if they are active then their mines are emptyQuote:
