I think that w/3 builders then you will be good to wait till your Def turrets are finished. esp since you can keep them all busy.
I would however, recommend that you build them while your TH is upgrading after your defenses are built to max ( or stagger the builders out while you upgrade walls). They help a lot at TH8-9 and though some have said they like the short build time and can balance out builds in later levels.. the sheer HP value they bring is enough to get them done while you transition to TH8 IMO..

They provide a nice chunk of resources that you do not need to break a shield for, drop a troop to obtain, and will not get revenged by someone for collecting them !

I was in the same position you are currently in I had my mines 8- 10 at the beginning of TH7 so what I did is:
1st:worked on the important stuff (lab, splash def, point def, air def)
2nd: worked on barracks got 2 to lvl 9
3rd:then I did my mines and pumps and some walls (4 workers btw)

I turned into a TH8 yesterday with maxed mines and pumps and 70 lvl 7 walls :D

i'd max them asap. free resources basically plus with the 1 gem boosts right now you can really capitalize on it. they may not seem like they are very important but they can be vital, especially if you plan to push.

Level 7 Mine/Collectors = 1600/hr x 6 collectors each = 9600/hr x 24 hours = 230,400
Level 11 Mine/Collectors = 3000/hr x 6 collectors each(below th10) = 18,000/hr x 24 hours = 432,000

When boost comes around, that is double. 864k a day in gold compared to 230 or 460 saves me quite a few raids.

When I get 232k more than you every day I end up with 84 million extra over the course of a year. There are my walls.

Its a choice based on your style of play. Those who raid frequently often have maxed storages even with 5 builders going. So to them mines don't matter and are a waste of builder time. If you struggle at all to keep your builders busy, max mines/pumps asap.

Also, by mid TH9 you will want max mines for sure, as walls are expensive.

At some point on th7 up, you'r prolly gonna be just sitting their doing walls. Max them then. Keeps all you'r builders bussy, has a beneficial effect on you'r village and you dont have to choose between them and something else more important.

Not necessarily. I remember back in my TH7 and TH8 days, I maxed my walls at about 80-85% of maxing my base for each TH7 and TH8.

Now at TH9, I'm definitely going to max my base BEFORE maxing even level 9 lego walls, let alone lvl 10 lava walls. Once I have lvl 9s all around and both my heroes at lvl 15+, I'm gonna jump to TH10.

I'm not a super hardcore farmer, my GG is at 480 mil. So I would imagine hardcore farmers would have maxed their walls way before I did.
