I think supercell will run their clan wars event on the air/commercials just like they have with their regular commercial, so that might be seen by the old players that have quit

Don't forget that there is additional loot added to the system generated by clan wars so it will probably at a minimum be a wash and I would bet more likely be a net gain.

Just wondering if any of you think/know if inactive players in your clan will affect the outcome of a clan war. All the people in the clan I'm in either have jobs or are very busy with school and sometimes can not check up on a game every 5 minutes.

That's correct. The scouting feature will help with that. Plan who attacks who 24 hours prior to your offense time of the war. I'm pumped for Wednesday!
